You know what's really sad... In the UK, in terms of people playing, badminton is the most popular racquet sport - by a long way over tennis. It's also a far faster game with much more trickery and action. The games also last around 30mins (normally) compared with 3 hours for tennis.

WHY OH WHY isn't badminton on the BBC or even sky?! I think it'd do really well, yet we're stuck for just tennis. I'd be happy with table-tennis on tv too - amazing stuff. TV rights wouldn't be expensive. Agree?

Yes, there are currently about 7 chinese in the world top ten men. In the womans table tennis there are 70 chinese out of 100. The ''10 europeans'' are chinese. All sports vary on difficulties, you just don't enjoy sports rooted on footwork and want to see epic (yet strangely easy if trained) reflex shots. Like, expose yourself to different sports. Believe it or not, the shot at 0:56 is VERY useful during games. I use it quite a lot and, as long as you can get right right aim and power for it (which never seemed too difficult for me), it can become a dirty tip fake. Raise your arms up as if you were waiting for the birdie to drop out of bounds. The opponent then relaxes because he assumes that you'll let the birdie out and the play will be over. However, at the last moment, swing around and tip at the front right.
