I don't get it. When people refers " this is so much better than the Original artist", does that mean the original version is bad?? Different artist interpretation of a cover version is sometimes great, but it can never beat the original. After all, didn't we felt in love with the original versions first, before covers were made?

Originally, Cold play sang this song. THe lead singer, his mom got infected with this disease (forgot wat its called) that made his mom's skin all yellow. This song is dedicated to his mom.

but a good friend of mine absoulotley LOVES coldplay and she told me wat this song meant. Its a disease that makes the melin in your skin react or something so it turns sorta yellowish. MOst babies at birth have this problem but grow out of it. I'm not saying his mom turned so yellow she looked like a simpson, just yellow tinted. Google it

@jenna0857 As noble as that sounds, the song was conceived from the band and their producer looking at the stars one night ("Look at the stars..."). This made Chris Martin come up with the basic chords. They developed it, created lyrics, and then the yellow part was added cause Martin just happened to have a Yellow Pages next to him XD

The song was inspired one night after they were recording in a studio and took a break and the sky was clear and you were able to see the stars. There comes the stars and the yellow comes from a phone books yellow pages, which happened to be right next to him when he was writing this song. They wrote and recorded this song that night.

I think its different because Brooke White is a woman and generally woman are more Romantic than men, but not always, so yes she connects better however, Coldplay sang it originaly and Chris Martin is an amazing singer, his voice is unmatchable. Chris to me is my favourite because it comes from a guy, and it kinda says things some guys struggle to put into words, he expressed it more. Gimme a thumbs down if u'd like i was just hoping you could see it my way, from a Lads perspective.

I like it. She puts an entirely different feel to it. More emotional. She sounds very authentic and very believably connected to the lyrics.

Coldplay has a different feel and has its own vibe. Brooke seems to take this song to new places and I like it much better. I don't tire listening to it.
