  • is that the guy from twlight zone?

  • Will the cocker spaniel know how to duck and cover?

  • (continuing) identified it as one of the convergences of the 'Laws of Evolution' (in addition to Marxism and pre-Einstein physics) in his treatise 'Materialism and Empiriocriticism', published in 1908. Lemarckism does not conflict with Evolution, it does conflict with Mendelian genetics which the Soviet Union did suppress until the late 1960's.

  • @ObssesedNuker Lemarckism conflicts BIGTIME with Darwinian Evolution whereas Darwinian Evolution & Mendel work very well together--thank you and again suggest u get the copy of The Rise and Fall of TD Lysenko and many times in the text it describes the attack on any teaching of Darwin by the Soviet State---

  • (continuing) to negotiate. There is a division within the Chinese government over whether to completely cut North Korea loose permanently or continue the 'carrot-and-stick'. And yes, if North Korea attacked the South, they would lose badly and be defeated. However, they would cause massive damage to Seoul (which is right by the border) and with it the world economy. And yes, the Soviet Union was a horrible ecological and economic mess. They still, however, did not ban Darwin, Lenin actually

  • @ObssesedNuker Who do u think allowed for materials to be flown over "their airspace" to deliever nuclear material to N Korea---China knows someday N Korea will drop a nuke on someone's city and does not give a shit cause if we even think of striking at that shithole called N Korea China will "protect" those assholes---at that point it will be time to have a nuclear gunfight with both of them and kick their asses off this planet!

  • @rangeclerk - Does your brain cell count reach double figures?

  • @steveo7121 At least I have brain cells u don't guess u know nothing of the FACT that in the 1950s Russians could not launch any type of Atomic/Nuclear wpn on US Mainland----see WAR & PEACE IN THE NUCLEAR AGE: Head of Soviet Rocket Forces both the PBS series & text stated they did not have any launch cap to do that to the US---to Europe they did but not on the US! The illegal govt of mainland China is the backer of N Korea; think it is time for this NATION to do some serious nuke-ass-kicking!

  • Oh, and furthermore, the Soviet Union adopted Lemarckism pre-late 60's. Since Lemarckism is predicated on Darwin's Theory of Evolution, how pray tell can the Soviets adopt a idea that is a derivative of another idea that they banned?

  • @ObssesedNuker U need to go back to Bio 101...Lemarckism was in 'vogue' when Dawrin published Origins of the Species (1859) and along with Mendel shattered Lemarckism (of course u cannot tell that by some of the sci fi films Hollywood came out with, including an esp of TNG ST---see ALIENS 4

  • Also, the Soviets were NOT detractors of Darwin's Theories of Evolution. As a matter of fact, the basis of Stalins 'New Soviet Man' Project was misunderstanding of Evolutionary Theory. They did, however, ban some of the later discoveries in biology and physics (such as certain stuff on gene theory and they had a great dislike of nearly every one of the uncertainty theories in physics). This came back to bite them a number of times.

  • @ObssesedNuker Suggest u locate THE RISE AND FALL OF T. D. LYSENKO---The Communist Govt outlawed all teaching of Darwinian Evoution---they burned all the books of Dawin and those teaching it that did not escape were sent to the 'camps in Siberia'.the book was rlsed in the West ~1986 and the Communist Govt of Russia went NUTS! Same was happening in Red China and elsewhere Marxist crap was in control.

  • Sheri's so right. Sure, the Soviets and the Nazis were pursuing nuclear weapons as rapidly as they could, and Japan would have but for cost, so it turned its attention to biological and chemical WMDs (Google "Unit 371"). But gosh darn it all to heck, I'm sure Nazis, Communists and fascist Japanese leaders would never have used an atomic bomb! We should have invaded Japan and absorbed the millions of casualities -- American and Japanese -- that would have resulted.

  • sheri you're a nit-wit. Read some history as to why we felt it had to be dropped. Hind sight is often 20-20.

  • (4:00 - 5:37) In the 1950s, that bit must've been good old-fashioned nightmare fuel. Especially after the grim announcement "Enemy bombers are probably overhead," followed by 24 seconds of pure silence, then you can tell something is going to happen because the music is getting scarier, but then it suddenly the scene just grinds to a halt, followed by Glenn Ford saying he leaves it up to us to decide what happened after that!

  • what happened next, was that they dropped diversity bombs on them and they were no longer a white city

  • Just think, good old America started the whole thing when they bombed Japan in 1945.

  • Late 1980s PBS program (TEXT as well by same title) WAR AND PEACE IN THE NUCLEAR AGE had the Soviet Head of Strag. Rocket Forces stated the Russians had no means of delievering any atomic or nuclear warheads on U.S. However the US could had the ability to take out all of the Eastern Block, USSR and China---to bad we didn't do it!

  • @rangeclerk I'm sorry, but I find such it hard to believe such an assertion, so I'll be following up, but even if such a statement was made, it is so patently false as to be discounted outright. Now if such a statement had been issued in the early-50's...

  • @ObssesedNuker U are going to say "I am sorry Rangeclerk" when u find the text; WAR AND PEACE IN THE NUCLEAR AGE and locate the statement made by the Head of Soviet Rocket Forces stated the Soviet Union had no means of getting atomic or nuclear wpns on the U. S. They did have the ability to strike Europe but not the US! It is not "patently false" for I have the textbook that went with the PBS series and recorded the series on my VHS in the late 1980s!

  • @rangeclerk Even if he did really say that (and assuming he didn't misspeak or was talking about a different period), than the statement is patently false, as even a cursory glance at the number of missiles and their various specifics will tell you. Furthermore, even if that was true, it would certainly NOT be an argument FOR going to war against them, if anything it would be the opposite.

  • @ObssesedNuker His statement is even in the TEXT! The point is, those who think that if Atomic/Nuclear Warfare had happened then the world would have been destroyed are incorrect. You have to understand that someday nuclear warfare will happen---the question(s) is how, the yield, amt---if one does not think about the 'unthinkable' it has a happen of rearing its ulgy head and even worst events can happen---SEE Herman Kahn---if we remain planetbound it will happen!

  • @rangeclerk The statement is in text written by John Newhouse. It still does not preclude a misstatement and does not change the fact that the statement is patently false: the Soviet Union has had the capability to strike at the United States since the 1960's, a well-documented fact. I made no mention about any of the 'destroy the world' myths. Full-scale nuclear warfare between Russia and the USA would end both countries as coherent nation states, but people within each nations would survive.

  • @ObssesedNuker The Head of Russian Rocket Forces was talking about the 1950s!

  • @rangeclerk Ah, I thought you were saying that the general was talking about the 1980's. My bad there.

Doesn't change the fact that not executing a nuclear strike on the USSR was still a better idea.

  • @ObssesedNuker You still will not admit u were incorrect when u did not accept my report of what the HEAD OF SOVIET ROCKET FORCES stated in WAR AND PEACE IN THE NUCLEAR AGE that the USSR did not have the ability to strike the United States---now said that it should be also noted that Gen LeMay had wpn sys set up to strike Eastern Europe and the USSR cities down to the size of the 2 Japanese cities---1 4-megaton and 3 1-megaton wpns--his philosophy "we bomb not to rubble but back to dust"

  • @rangeclerk Erm. Are you okay? Can you read? Because I just said that yeah, the Soviet Union did NOT (<- see this little word?) have the capability to strike the United States in the 1950's. That came about in the 1960's.

But that changes nothing, seeing as the Soviet Union ultimately collapsed peacefully, trying to use this advantage would not only have been redundant, it would have been immoral too.

  • @ObssesedNuker Reading all your statements u never said " I just said that yeah, the Soviet Union did NOT (<- see this little word?) have the capability to strike the US and yet u still stated " it is so patently false as to be discounted outright."

It wasn't 'immoral' to wipe out the Nazis or the Empire of Japan, in fact it would have been immoral not to; same with the Communist System---because LeMay also had all of Red China targeted as well--had we done it in th 50s no Red China today---

  • @rangeclerk The confusion over all this is in the timeline. The Soviets did not have the capability in the 1950's, but did in the 1980's. I thought you were saying the Soviet general was talking about the 80's, when in fact he was talking about the 50's. Do you understand the difference between these dates?

And an important difference between the Nazis and the Japanese is they were aggressively attacking everyone else. The Soviets... weren't. And since their system just collapsed, you would kill

  • @ObssesedNuker hundreds of millions of people needlessly to destroy a system that was going to collapse thirty years later anyways... and do so with no provocation. That is the height of immorality.

(Had to make two posts because of the character limits. Youtube's comment system sucks.)

  • @ObssesedNuker Agree with UTUBE limits; also it will short the number of words u can use. My main interest has always been astronomy & the manned space program but have always followed politics & military aspects as well. W.& P.I.T.N.A. should not have been a surpise to you & do not where u thought the Russian statements were related to the 60s or 80s....The Communists were trying all sorts of ways to destroy and undermine the US---should also be noted they outlawed the science of Darwin. more..

  • @ObssesedNuker If you read the Commie Manifesto u know they BELIEVE that everyone MUST become a Communist---Marx even stated that there must be a Dicatorship by the 'working-class" over everyone else. Later in that book Marx claims humanity will become a Communist State---total bunk (typical 'proto-social scientist') thinking they are as smart as a Physicist---not even close. To ensure a future communist state Russia, China were (China still is) hell-bent on having all of us be communists.

  • @rangeclerk Yeah, that's what Marx believed and that's not what happened. And no, China is not still seeking world revolution, ever since Mao's death they have abandoned that kind of strict communist ideology and become more chimeric, now they are like most other nation states: they are acting on their self-interest in economic and geo-political terms rather then ideology. Exporting the revolution is no longer on the cards of any of the still existing 'communist' states.

  • @ObssesedNuker That is wishful thinking on your part as that is a MAJOR TENANT of Marxism/Communism;"sell/give enough rope to the 'captialists' to hang themselves with it"---China is COMMUNIST and don't be lend down the 'rose path in rose colored glasses'-- conerning Russia--no thanks to the butthead Robt 'Strange' McNamara he cancelled the YF-12A interceptor and the XB-70---had those programs continued would have bankrupt the Soviets much sooner.

  • @rangeclerk :/ You are still living in the Cold War. China is no longer trying for a world revolution. Communism has been dust in the ash heap of history for twenty years now, and the Chinese are well aware of it. Yes, McNamara was an incompetent Secretary of Defense, but the major reason for the Soviet collapse was the internal failure of its communist state with the arms race only exacerbating it. And no, the USSR did not ban Evolutionary Darwinism, they DID reject Mendelist genetics and...

  • ... instead tried to implement Lemarckism genetics, which obviously failed. They switched back over to teaching Mendelian following the failings of Lemarckism in the attempted applications of agriculture. The re-establishment of the previously banned studies in biology and genetics occurred in the late-1960's.China did the same following Mao's death. The book you cite was published in 1969 and is out-of-date in terms of its sources.

  • @ObssesedNuker Have other books one of which was written by a Darwinian geneticist (pub late 1988) whose father was an instructor of Darwinian Theory and was never see again---his daugher who I mentioned above was able to make it to the United States----again the book I cited did mention in detail the destruction of the teachings of Dawin in Russia---did not conform to Communist?Marxist belief----have many others and mag articles---even had a phy anthro instuctor who was not aware this.

  • @rangeclerk Great, doesn't change the fact that the Soviets lifted those bans in the late-60s, right as the book you cited was coming out.

You also realize that we have learned a ton of new things about the USSR after it collapsed, right? Maybe you should look into books written in the 90's and 00's about Soviet society.

  • @ObssesedNuker IF you had read The Rise and Fall of Lysenko you would also know the Communist Govt attacked Darwin & referred to his science as "Bourgeois Biology".When the book came to the US it still took several yrs for the Soviet Govt to start & change their basis for biology; as such many of Lysenko's supporters continued teaching/in positions of power of educational centers. I fine it interesting that the same attacks on Darwin coming from the "Religious Right" are very much the---more

  • @ObssesedNuker same kind of unscientific based attacks as the communists did against Darwin in the 30s' and early 40s'. We sure have learned even more about the Soviet Union since its so-called collapsed---an environmental nightmare so beyond many in the West that it is still hard from some in the West to realize just how rotten that sys was and the massive destruction of their environment. Do not forget who is controlling N Korea lease--Red China---the US needs to specific info to China--more

  • @ObssesedNuker if North Korea does the "unthinkable" we will wipe that piss-ant county off the Earth! It amazes me we have learned nothing even dealing with that shithead Hitler---one does not appease; one obliterates---so long as humankind remains 'planet-bound' thinking in terms such as; 'earth is our home & it is here we will live & die' there will be wars, the likes we have never experienced. There is even a far worst fate than that---an Earth the way it was in the 10 Century or less.

  • @rangeclerk North Korea isn't China's puppet. North Korea has never been ANYONE'S puppet. As a matter of fact, it is a source of continual frustration for the Chinese that North Korea does NOT kow-tow to their instructions. Look China's reaction to the shelling of that island, look at China's reaction to their attack on that ship, look at their reaction to the North Korean nuclear attacks. Every time China condemns them and, several times, cut their aide to the place in order to force the North

  • @ObssesedNuker reaction to the shelling of south korea---nothing from commie china

  • YA PORTLAND WERE READY! LOL.

  • (4:19 - 4:40) That is not what those Chrysler Victory air raid sirens sound like. They have a much louder 440hz tone, and were the loudest sirens ever made. Apparently they couldn't record the siren's real sound (it probably would've come out sounding distorted), so they dubbed a police/fire siren over it instead. Look up "chrysler victory siren" here on YouTube to hear what a real one sounds like.

  • *heehee* Glenn Ford said noo-cue-leer.

    C'mon people, it's like a zit cream

    "new" "clear".

  • Goddam Commies! Scaring helpless cocker spaniels like that!

  • They had 3 hours -couldn't somebody shoot the friggen plane down?

  • So... what do you think happened around 5:36? Did the enemies blow up Portland? Did they change their minds or were aiming for a different target? Or was it all just a cruel elaborate prank some juvenile delinquent concocted?

One thing's for certain: thank God the only nuclear bombs that blew up in our country were just for testing them in gigantic deserts!

  • The Mayor of Portland was busy getting a Blowjob!

  • Careful now, the current District Attorney in Portland is Terry Schrunk's son, Mike Schrunk.

  • If you knew enemy bombers were incoming, why wouldn't you scramble fighters to take them out?

  • They would have scrambled fighters / fired Nike AAMs etc etc.

  • Spread your anti-Bush hatred elsewhere because it is not welcome here.

  • OK, sorry. The anti-Bush thing was because my mom dislikes him more than I do.

  • How about Mayor Nagin? What a moron. Used all the levee money for other corrupt plans. The problems with Katrina weren't Bush's fault, or the Federal Government's responsibility to begin with.

  • I do not hate him. But my brother died in the Iraq War.

  • as i watch this i cant help but to notice, Russian bombers are flying again, Bush wants missiles in poland, what went wrong? why is this happening again? its all too scary

  • Just like the 1950's: organized, assured, and utterly sterile. Too bad for Portland the ICBM was invented that same year!
