both of them were going back to the human world. since the chick gave up her ability to live in the heavens to save the dudes life, and the guy died at the end but wished to see her or not forget her when he is reincarnated.

i say this movie is an 8/10 being charitable. it was better then most of the new martial art love movies out there. though i feel it was a bit unclear of the main mission in the story it was a good movie to watch on a friday night.
