Blows me utterly away!! The amount of times I've watched this since I first discovered it few months back..well I wouldn't even be able to guess. WONDERFUL PIECE!
Hmmm..ok, she's dancing with Fosse, or someone that looks like Fosse? Plus he based his work on classic Vaudville and Burlesque steps...so I think its very possible.Thanks for the quick response. Peace
This is supposed to be taking place around 1900, but the dance moves and especially Betty's "shimmying" gold costume are pure 1940s, when the movie was made.
@chilvari Wow, I agree that she's just wonderful and that this is a classic clip, but what's with the sluts and hoes crap? You sound kind of like you've got issues.
@OonaCanute Entertainers of today act like sluts and hoes. My comment was pretty self explainitory. It's nice to see something different for a change...Betty Grable and all others from a bygone era.
the older ladies in my exercise class referenced this song when we were doing a shimmy, I hadn't heard of it so I had to look it up - thanks for sharing this!
Love those million-dollar legs! Betty Grable was amazing. There's a clip up on YouTube of her singing I Got A Gal in Kalamazoo with the Glenn Miller Band, she just knocks your socks off!

My aunt Lily could sing and dance like this and when she did folks were scandalized, well it was 1950's suburban UK...

Too early to be Bob Fosse. The choreographer was Billy Daniel, who did a lot of 20th Fox movies in the late 40s, 50s.

Does anyone know? Was this choregraphed by Bob Fosse?
MWaits 4 months ago
@MWaits
Fosse not listed in opening credits. A couple of other clips from this movie looks like Fosse dancing with Betty Grable - Tom

Lately, I've had a craving to see "Wabash Avenue". Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to be available in any format.

Classic Burlesque! She's better than any of the sluts and hoes of today whether singers, dancers, actors, or some other profession.

Now you can see why Staff Sergeant Stanislas "Animal" Kasava (Robert Strauss) lusted after Betty Grable in Stalag 17.

She would have been thrown out of Dodge City for going on stage without leotards on her legs!
