  • sorry i am verry new at guitar and i havent got to cords yet soo how can i start on learnig this cords? :o and pretty good vid i get a lot of it thoe

    :D

  • lol, you said that you're going to "finger it" hahah

  • This is awesome Mr. D!

I recently purchased a Taylor 314 and have been learning to play. I played a little in college on a wide-neck nylon string but have been struggling a bit moving over to the narrower neck and steel string. I've largely been self-taught, so I was able to pick up a lot of great pointers from your video.

    Please....keep them coming!! ~T

  • i like the video quality.. ((:

  • hey i got a question. im a beginner. n i know what a hammer-on is but how do u make a hammer-on backwards. for example, regular hammer on is 7h9, but how would u do 9h7? do u have any tips on how to make it sound just right?

  • @wackyfours

that would be a called a pull-off. you can either pull off ur finger quickly or pull it down so that as you pull off the string you also pluck it at the same time. i don't know if i described it well enough sorry haha.

  • yea i got it. i just got confused cuz the tap said 9h7, and it didn't have the p for a pull off, so i didn't really know how to play that movement.

  • @wackyfours

thats a pull of...for example you have the first first finger in the 7, the second on the 9...so you pull of your second one.

it's like this in the chords 9p7

  • you pull of, what i mean by that is hold both notes and let go of the 9 when ur doen playing it. so hold down the 9 and 7 , after you hit the 9 just pull off the 9 and hold the 7

  • its called a pull-off were its the same thing but going to the pr-eves note

So instead of 9h7 its 9p7

  • I want to play this song in the music in my school, but It is VERY difficult... can you make a better movie about the chords?

  • i didn't understand that much. step by step please. you should zoom in>XD zoom innn.lol

  • why does this vid needs so long tu buffer? wtf

  • @janosfischer It's not the video it's your internet maybe

  • nice..guitar..dude.. o_o

  • Thanks Ashlyng100!!! I appreciate the kind words.

  • wow gidgetluckey maybe you shouldnt be lazy and learn yourself instead of critizing others

    :)cheers!

  • Thanks Gidgetlucky! If you have any questions for me about this song or any other musical question, I would love to help you out. I do have a Bachelor's Degree in classical guitar/music ed. minor, received several scholarships for music performance, have toured with Grammy Award winning artists, and have taught professionally for 4 years.

    Cheers!!!!

  • i love your lesson its really cool thnx

  • Derek, you are so pro. You should make more videos! I've been trying to play this song for a few months and now I know how to do it! Thx so much!

  • @DereksGuitarLessons lol first off great vid. second nice hair :) third you pwned the fuck outta Gidgetlucky lmao loved it xD

  • Just because you can't understand a single word he is saying doesn't mean we don't understand. I am a newbie; someone who didn't play for a year yet, and I understand him really well. So you can shut up. This guy is pro.

  • @gidgetluckey Considering your grammar..no wonder why you can't understand what he's saying, and there's no wonder why you'll never be able to learn this song, you retard.

  • @Cryoschaos

    relax

  • nice hair bro

  • @gidgetluckey lol you got owned... Anyways, thanks Derek!! :D You really helped me with this song (which is also the first song ive ever learned on guitar...)

  • awesome
