My uncle is on that wall. Michael Thompson,he was a Huey Machine Gunner,he was kiiled in action in 1968 I beleive. I never got to meet him,im only 19 and ive never seen the wall but im still very proud of him. My father also served in vietnam,he did 3 tours with the 198th Infantry,he earned 2 purple hearts and 2 bronze stars. My uncle is on that wall. Michael Thompson,he was a Huey Machine Gunner,he was kiiled in action in 1968 I beleive. I never got to meet him,im only 19 and ive never seen the wall but im still very proud of him. My father also served in vietnam,he did 3 tours with the 198th Infantry,he earned 2 purple hearts and 2 bronze stars. Who ever does anything against any tribute to our hero's,and family should get the death penalty. Or should be jumped,spit on and rocks thrown at like my father was.

First of all, I really do not know what to say but had to write. My Dad a Cop in Madison, Wis during the war. I got to see first hand what in public did to Our Military, . My Dad would come home in Riot gear and I was scared to death, being 5 at the time, I had no clue. Who is this person? Well later on in life I found out. He was afraid to not only being a Cop, but also a Vet(Army). They are treating HIS family this way. But My Gram sat us down one day When You see a Vet, Tell Them THANK YOU.

The Viet Nam War was fought by my generation. It was my generation who protested in the streets and helped end that war. Some of my friends have their names on that wall. They were drafted. They didn't want to be there, they didn't believe Viet Nam was a just war, they didn't want to kill. They died there, right next to the gung-ho true believers. Why desecrate a memorial to their sacrifice? Why desecrate a memorial to any of our dead?

Most of those soldiers didn't really die for you or me, most of them didn't even know why they were fighting. I honor their bravery though, but they didn't fight for us, they fought to survive. Well at least Republicans respect the ones who die. I am honored that your Uncle served this country and I understand that he was drafted. If he served his country honorable that's fine but if not o well. Yes, this was done to numerous GIs. Near hill 55 there was a female Viet Cong nicknamed the apache woman. She personally tortured and castrated over a dozen of her captured enemy prisoners.
