i have this same scanner and am trying to do the same thing but not sure if im doing this correctly. Do I locate the channel that I want to find the tones on and then place it on hold and then go to Menu>Tone-Out For...>Tone-Out Standby and then wait for the channel to receive the tone? Also if I dont save the tones in a certain amount of time does it reset back to 0.0Hz? Thanks
@Unknownguyism This scanner is searching the frequency on which the fire tones are sounded. Most areas will have two Fire Dispatch frequencies, one for the tones and then Dispatch (such as you would receive on a pager), and another for a CB Dispatch for the radios in Chiefs' vehicles. If your scanner is not sounding the tones first, you are probably on "car-to-car" frequency. Check with your local Dispatcher for the correct frequencies, or if you are in a fire department, ask your Chief.
This may just be what I've been looking for...a scanner with fire page alerts. How many can you set?

This is a scanner. It is decoding the QCII tones and saves them into memory. When the tones come over the air again, the scanner sends out an alert.
The scanner is not generating these tones.

I am confused. This is a Scanner... and it can look for tones correct? Or is it dropping its own tones. The scanners I use do not do this. Thanks.
