I disagree with telling someone what they can and cannot support. If the protestants want to sponsor anti-gay sentiments, creationism, and biblical literalism, that is there right. If you want to be apart of a institution that says blacks are subhuman, I'm ok with that.
It's just that government MUST be separated from those sentiments. Any religion must have no ability to impose its teachings on others, a state that is secular and open to all free thought is the only way of keeping stability.
I'm on the fence with this topic. I do think there are some benefits to state church... one I've noticed is that over time this system produces more atheists... at least that's what we see in the "western world"

Thanks for the reply, Christian... Great video (gotta learn how to do them in one piece like you do!) and good to know that we're on the same wavelength on the subject after all! :)
To be honest the only thing really I don't get is in the US churches get tax right offs to spread their discrimination. That pisses me off. They should be charged like everyone else, and they should be treated like a charity where they have to disclose where they spent their money. That way the people that go there can be informed on what their church actually does if they want to be.
@Tylzen Yea that really annoys me. Some people here just become a minister to have a "church" in their house to get out of paying taxes. I think there would be a lot less ministers if that was changed. XD Like I get the state not wanting to stop a religion, however if they can't survive like every other business they should be shut down. If they aren't surviving there is a reason for that, and they just need to either change what they are doing or that's that.
I definitely understand your point of view, but I must admit it would be weird having state and church separated (at least at first). But for me it would all just be about a "habit" needing to be changed.

@tattooskin72 doh, that wasn't a complete comment LOL Hit post by accident.
The best way to make an atheist is to actually read the bible, especially along side other mythologies.
anyway, I think I totally lost my train of thought. LOL
