  • shit!!! in 5bln years sun will boom! fck! iwe have not time, let's party!

  • @sharkmak yes lets fuck each other's sister

  • Good documentary until you get to the man made global warming, which is a bunch of bunk. If you are going to state it as fact, please give some facts. None exist.

  • @herdgo Global warming doesn't exist? Are you serious? Are you American by any chance and a Republican? Here in Britain were told a lot about the silly things these people believe and don't believe. There's a reason a broadcaster as globally respected and trusted as the BBC presnts this stuff as fact here in Britain, and big shock, its not some type of Marxist conspiracy, its because here were not retards and we know and accept warming is FACT.

Jesus. The retardation is stunning. Just stunning.

  • @cisseshairdresser You sound like a religious person with your global warming talk. Just saying.

  • @howitzer24

Wow, what a great come back. I don't get you lot at all. I have more brain cells in my sperm.

How ANYONE in this day and age can doubt global warming is jusy mind boggling.

Is this just a US thing?

  • @cisseshairdresser Hi, thanks for responding. I think that changes in the level of CO2 are caused by temperature changes. I think our effect on the planet's weather is negligible compared to the Sun's effect. Finally I have no reason to believe in global warming from a strictly personal experience perspective. If no one told me about man-made global warming or climate change I would never suspect it. I think it's a media creation. Thanks again for your interest.

  • @cisseshairdresser

US thing? Probably, but certainly no real academic one... Even if we had no human effect on global warming, the huge amounts of CO2 which are partially absorbed by the oceans are already causing pH-shifts to a magnitude that it starts making problems to marine lifeforms.

  • ah well the sun maketh and the sun taketh away

  • so after 5 billion

the modern human lived only 200 000 years if he live 1 billion years i will say wow

relax and think how we will live in mars.

    thanks for sharing

  • @heatblast100 hmmmm....nooo don't think so

  • @plastikmaiden i think so it will be in what? 5 billion years? we will have some much time to study the sun

  • guys what was that at 0454 ... it was running

  • @bang99 a car....

  • @bang99 it's the road runner!!

  • seems all those that have been sayin that everything will come to an end in 2012 well it might still be close to being true cuz since our earth is getting hotter so our our oceans n once the oceans start gettin more n more hotter then thats when hell decends like when fish start dying k cuz once the fish start dying it wont be long b4 all of humanity all start dying out.

  • @FLAME4564

You sound so ignorant, please stop lol. Atleast attempt to articulate with a hint of eloquence

  • @Mistahshadow eh XD heheh excuse me? articulate with a hint of eloquence? dude wtf are u smokin eh cuz i dont know any thing that ur even talkin about so plz shut the bloody hell up.

  • @FLAME4564 Hahaha yeah it's still quite apparent that you don't have a clue what I'm talking about. Looks like you've forgotten how to spell too.

  • was just wondering something, If they(sunsparks) hit the earth, are they themselves responsible for any climate changes? Do they happen often?

  • awesome

  • the sun is gonna burn out - I DON'T WANNA DIE!!!

  • Relax. You won't be around for that. You're going to die way before then.

  • That what you think. But the heads of the world know different.

  • You are effectively off the rails dear sir. Beyond being nonsensical, sensibly irritating, and simplistic, your statement is also apparently devoid of any research. Read some books on the sun, its source of fuel, the expected life of the sun, its age and figure it out yourself. I dunno who these heads you speak of are, but I wouldn't be mentally displaced if it turned out they are in your head.

  • Don't worry. Soon you'll be proven wrong. You will live to see your own words become a lie.

  • I'm not worried. kthxbai

  • Thanks steve for posting this very informative series. I learned a lot about sun spots and space weather.

  • well, solar power is nice, but it really takes a lot of space... and only works while the sun is shining, and we still have some efficiency-problems when it comes to storing energy. and i dont like how they uncritically pay lip-service to ancient indian wisdom. after all, it was einstein who discovered the photoelectric effect.

  • I agree... the little insert of paganism was disconcerting.

Otherwise this is a fantastic series.

  • Paganism! Wow! Skeptical Zombie, its the right of any community to have its own beliefs. Please dont view everything through the conservative christian lens and brand it as paganism. Christianity is not the only religion in the world. The reference that indian community and their beliefs should serve as an example to the western civilization, which is screwing up the earth on warfooting.

  • It is paganism, by the very definition of the word. And I'm far from a christian fundamentalist.. I'm not even a theist. It sure is the right of any community to have it's own beliefs; they are beliefs which should not be thrown into what is a scientific documentary. It is in bad taste and is a total non-sequitur in regards to the topic at hand.

  • Hi Zombie, my apologies for assuming that your comments were inspired by fundamentalist christian thought. Glad to know that it was not. But let me tell you the reason, why I assumed so, it was because of your use of the word pagan.

According to wikipedia, pagan is a word used for culture which doesnt confirm to the beliefs of the abrahamic religions.

I agree with you that part of the documentary was unnecessary, I think the intent was to show the effect of culture on the choice of lifestyle.

  • Hi kurtlien. Efficiency problems always exist with the advent of any new technology. First steam engine would have been most inefficient engine. Harnessing sun's power is a budding technology and will someday be efficient, all the efforts towards it should be supported. And with regards to the usage of photoelectricity by indian community, they were not attributing the discovery of photoelectric effect to them. They were just showing how culture influences the lifestyle and choices of community

  • pradeeptubeu:

one of the reasons why im a bit skeptical about solar power is: hundreds of millions of years of evolution caused plants to be already damn good at it. energy harnessed from organic waste using fermentation would be a topic here. organic fuel. and food is more valuable than energy anyway, with the most modern technology energy can be a by-product of agricultural food production.

solar cells are for rooftops, this is where it makes sense. and maybe for deserts.
