oh hell yea I'm getting that shit!!!its gnu be doooppppe, imagine the 2500,and controlling it on the comp,or as just hard if you want word tho 1500 would be the limit
So True! I should have been more specific! Akai finally got on the big screen! LOL!!! Akai never beat Roland out. The MV8000 is still killing all of the past MPCs. They are late in the game of software and interfaces like they were when they tried catching up with Roland in the hardware game. I wish them the best! They, Linn and Akai, did innovate the 16 pad groove sampler / drum machine! The Hip-Hop community loves what they and Roger Linn started, but now, without Linn, they are followers.
New Hip-Hop producers, save your money or buy a hardware MPC. Better yet, just get an MV8000. MV's are only about 400 bucks on Craig's List and they do everything you will need to do. Most of us producers who have been in the game for a while already have an audio interface and production software, so we can just stick with out guns! Akai were innovators in the game, but now they just follow. Don't allow Akai to take advantage of your wallet! Be smart and think before you invest.
I have Maschine & everyday wen I go into my Lab I tell myself, "I'm not gonna fuck w my MPC 2500 today, Ima use Maschine." Not! I start diggin & then m on the MPC. Its lke good sex, u can't get enuf. I mean, I just havent fell in love w Maschine like I thot I wud. But lets b real - Maschine is a DOPE piece of gear & tech! I've been usng NI products 4 almost 5 years (Traktor Scratch & Komplete). Lord willing, I have no doubt I'll get the Renaissance. M all in! Can't wait for NAMM, yo..
Im thirsty to see what its about. Im waitin for namm to drop. Once it drops we will know more about it. Another inciteful piece of equipment from akai im lookin forward to as well is MPC FLY wHich is a controller for the ipad 2.
If it's just a controller, I won't get it, but if it's a mpc that runs vst's and functions like a mpc, with pitch phrase, keygrouping, time stretching, sign me up, I think maschine is just a controller, becuase you can't swing it, you can't time stretch it or nothing, has great sounds. What would make maschine cool, if it didn't follow the timing of like pro tools, becuase with the mpc if I don't have it as the slave, I can swing it all day.
I'm getting it no doubt!!! I'm strictly MPC Roland ... Nothing but the best.. I was hesitant on computer etc.. software ... But I'm gonna go with Akai ...
The Slimline I think will be the one to be compareable to Maschine. I think the Renaissance is going to be the flagship now I bet. It's dope though! I still have my MV & it's not leaving me, but I was wanting Maschine, so now I'm going to wait & see how it unfolds! Maschine is gonna have to step the time stretch game up now for sure! Where is Roland on all of this? I've posted that question on a number of these vids that have just popped up! The war is about to start, lol!
The Akai Renaissance is going in direct competition with Maschine. I would expect the price to be $750 or less. Why spend $1000 or more on just a controller? At that price you could go on E-Bay and get any full model MPC.
@BigPooch1970..MPC STUDIO SLIMLINE IS THE DIRECT COMPETITION FOR MASCHINE..AND THE RENAISSANCE HAS INPUTS & OUTPUTS,THAT'S A GOOD REASON FOR IT TO BE UP THERE IN PRICE
there are similar products out already so they shouldn't go for higher then 1000 if they want to sell. Im yet to check the specs on this unit to decide. The plus was having a dedicated unit for drum programming, the problem was the the lack of communication with your DAW. They have way to high expectations on themselves. I was about to get a MPC but I realized It wasn't going to help me more than a MPD32 and DAW. Its a fine line to not loose the MPC identity just improve it.
I want get it. Maschine will be coming with the 1.8 update to compete. But if its less than a grand i may(just because of the sexy look). But we know its not going to be. I say $2500
Sup Dj! I think I feel like you man.. I'm REAL interested in copping it...Like you I've been down this MPC road before! I've had a 2000XL and Maschine..sold both...I don't miss either one to this day! The two biggest things I'm eager to see are the workflow and price! Akai is gonna have to drop that price if they want to be competive with Maschine! They are good for stamping a 2K price tag on the new stuff. That won't cut it this time tho...but on the flip side..the new MPC looks sexy....LoL
but remember they are realeasing a slimline one and an ipad version. but these are all going to be realeased later. the ipad one is said to be released in 2013 and the slimline is coming in either june or july
yeah if i was the same price as maschine then no dout id cop it but if its more thsan that i prob wont cuz im actually gonna get the mikro to solve portabilty issues since my mpc 1000 is kinda heavy to lug around
hmm..looks real nice, but as I have the 25k & Maschine already & own an LPD8 for those days when I can't be bothered to lug around a ton of gear, I doubt I'll be getting this.
Unless that is, Akai are brave enough to release a native Linux version of the software, which judging by the blurb, they won't. Shame really.
Having said all that, I said the same about Maschine & I wouldn't be without it now, so we'll see what happens!! heheh
I'm staying with the MPC2000XL, it's all about what works for you!
