I love this film. Yes, it's not the easiest to watch, but the poetry of the images and the strength of the performances are almost hypnotic. One cannot look away. The first five minutes are the most beautiful you're ever likely to see.
I've only seen it once, but I think it's going to take a couple more viewings to get it figured out.
I think the three animals represent death: The crow is murder, the fox is suicide and the deer is natural death.

No, you better don't, Salo is even worst. I don't find antichrist as cruel as viva la muerte or as sexually depraved as salo. I love this film. Yes, it's not the easiest to watch, but the poetry of the images and the strength of the performances are almost hypnotic. One cannot look away. The first five minutes are the most beautiful you're ever likely to see.
I've only seen it once, but I think it's going to take a couple more viewings to get it figured out.
I think the three animals represent death: The crow is murder, the fox is suicide and the deer is natural death.

Another film I'd recommend is Dogtooth – very funny, odd, moving and emotionally stimulating :) Michael Haneke's White Ribbon and Funny Games are also excellent.

This movie is absolutely disgusting, and I'm usually not much of a movie critic, I watch horror movies for breakfast, but this is not horror, this is nasty, ugly and psychotic. Don't watch this movie, stay away from it, it's terrible in every possible way.

Just saw this movie. It has nothing to do with anything Biblical, really. It's the most disgusting imagery ever captured on film with the exception of the snuff genre. Don't let your curiosity get the best of you. Avoid this movie at all costs. You cannot unsee what you have seen. I promise that you will carry this horror with you for the rest of your life if you choose to watch it. Ironically, there is nothing overtly satanic about it, however, it's the most satanic movie I've ever seen.

No, you better don't, Salo is even worst. I don't find antichrist as cruel as viva la muerte or as sexually depraved as salo. But it is obvious, it's not a teen movie, it's obvious not the movie for seniour people, plus you have to be very open minded and see it just as it is: a surreal movie. Faces of death is disgusting, I've never seen that film only a few scenes and stopped watching, it is real gore and real gore CAN'T be appreciated in any way.
