a bro how do u take demo play mode of the system, i have the same one and i love my sony sysytem but cant figure why its stuck on demo play mode wont let me do anything else not even eject... hpoefull u got sum info for me ! thanx..
I do not know how the grill removes I am sure it is glued/stuck on to the plastic and isn't supposed to be removed. I would advise not to remove it because speakers that are made with removable dust covers are designed that way to be presentable (look good) and arn't too affected by dirt/dust. It won't do you any favour to remove it, but of course your choice ;)
If you look in the instruction manual there's a button you press on the remote which changes the surround sound mode because the default setting doesn't use dolby surround.
hey, ive got the dav dz660 version, and can u tell me if it plays avi format and if not what format then and if i have to set it up to play avi...how?
@horill123 I think it may require a hack code of some sort to programme it, some universal remotes can do this, but that's all I know. Interesting design on that system, it's the exact same wattage asmy one, not sure on the long speakers, but it's your system so enjoy it.
I've got the Sony DAV-DZ 260, can anyone tell me how to make it multi-region, or tell me of a website to go to? just that i've got loads of region 1 and 4 dvd's that i got with my last dvd player. Thanks.
I Own this System and what can i say about it, it's very good.
Only one huge problem i have and please if you can help me.
Can you make it read DivX or MKV HD movies from the USB Stick, from the help of a firmware upgrade or something? Sorry for my bad language i'm from Romania. So please again if you can help meeeee.
@xtremespeed91 Hello, I understand what you are saying, but sorry, I don't know how to do what you want to do and cannot help you. All that I know is it is a normal DVD player with HDMI upscaling via the HDMI cable, I don't think HD media would work with this device, your best bet is a blueray player.
hey i've got this and a ps3 how do you hook it up to a ps3 do you have to change the settings on the dvd ? does the dvd have to be switched on? i know you have to mess about on ps3 settings like setting it to optical out but i don't know how to get sound coming out of the surround sound stystem did any of that make sense lol btw cool setup mate
You'll have to switch the DVD player on yes. Put it to the Optical Audio Line In channel and you will hear sound.
If you look in the instruction manual there's a button you press on te remote which changes the surround sound mode because the default setting doesn't use dolby surround.
You are buying into a maketing brand, there is a lot of other home cinema which will sound the same for a cheaper price.
Bose is good but you can buy something a lot better for the price. The satellite speakers also do not sound clear, they need more treble. This is comming from someone who worked in a hi-fi shop for a year and listened to their top £4k system. Trust me there's a lot better out there.
Could you tel me which brands are just as good or even "better" than Bose? I listened to a nice 300€ setup of bose and it seemed awesome, even though it was a mere 2.1 setup. I am looking forward to getting a 7.1 replacement instead, even though my room is "small" What could you recommend? Thanks
7.1 systems are very expensive. You can pay from £900 upwards, because you have to buy the speakers seperatly. My advice for your price range would be to get a good 5.1 setup. Look at brands like KEF,Onkyo,Jamo,Pioneer and Sony.
245thegreat would you like to tell me a good place for my subwoofer? i have sony dav-dz110 and i have problem with the sound of subwoofer its not deep
The best place I can suggest is in the corner near to your t.v. like where I have placed mine. If not right by the t.v., place it somewhere close, next to a wall, prefferably facing towards you, but leaving at least 2cm gap to avoid wall vibration.
Placing it near a wall and on the floor, helps the bass sounds to bounce off surfaces, giving more freedom of where the low frequences can travel in your room.
Make sure the bass setting is not maximum, because when you need it loud it may distort.
The subwoofer is best in the corner next to a wall and on the floor where sound waves can easily travel to you. If it's up with a heigh it may loose it's rumble effect. It's also fine tuned to make better listning for when you are sitting down, of course this is when most people are listning.
The song is: Bingo Players feat. Dan't - I Will Follow
yes more bass when you are standing or walk in the room i have put the sub in height has 3 metre of the ground & Stuck in right angle of the wall, when i am siting down on my sofa with my ps3 the blurays is amazing with this home theater Far too many bass from time to time but when i walk in the room there are less bass what when i am siting down:(, so it is strange
i have the same home theater very good sound for this price it is amazing but I put subwoofer above a piece of furniture, to have much more of bass when I am sitting down
Yh it sounds great, thanks for video cause I am thinking of getting this surround sound for argos for 115 pounds, great price. Did you get the speaker stands from there because they look the same from argos
Yes, I did get them from argos, they have glass bases and look quite expensive for the price. It's funny how out of all the stores you chose argos, good value :D but don't be fooled, some items there can be found cheaper on ebay or amazon :)
i want to buy one but i'm afraid, please tell me if i will find some surprises after purchasing it, beacause i tink this HTis perfect i dont wanna be desapoined.
I think this system is amazing, provided you have a good size room. The subwoofer is very powerful and i reccomend you place is somewhere further away from your seat.
The bass responce is very good and i have not yet heard any distortion is any movies or music i have played.

Which sound setting do you recommend?
Arley2011 2 years ago
Auto/Pro Logic is the regular cinema sound. there are other settings but they are gimmicky and won't allow you to enjoy the proper cinema experiance.
245thegreat 2 years ago
I also bought this system last year. Decent sound quality for the value but i'll be switching over to bose this year which is much better.
