  • Wow.

We're doing this just since yesterday.

Possibly the most evocative piece I've ever sung or even heard. Magnificent of Saint-Saëns, whom I'd heard of but was not acquainted with till now.

It totally transports me to another place, that place and those times of the calm, cooling breeze of truly relaxed summer evenings.

  • Beautiful! Good job!

Hoe is playing the piano at 0:15?????

  • Not an easy piece. It's very slow (molto adagio), mostly pianissimo and the phrases are extremely long. The bass entry at bar 7 is distorted and the tenors have major trouble finding the C natural at bar 12. The conductor decided on a superfluous rallentando at the end -- Saint-Saens built the rallentando into the piece. Any further slowdown makes the choir die on its feet. French pronunciation is very good, with the exception of the word "seul" (bar 39). Altogether a very good performance.
