chris davis will never take 1B back from Smoak. davis will DH or be traded. bank on it.

@foilseal smoak's a starter. davis isn't. i consider that a wise call. the 2008 draft was heavy on good 1st basemen. ike davis, david cooper (now OF), brett wallace, and yonder alonso (now OF) will all make a good living, but smoak will be the best of them in the long run.

Crush is the future at 1st. Only way Smoak is at first is if Davis moves to 3rd or to the outfield, I dont see him going to the outfield and with young at 3rd, it would be a couple of years before that move would be possible made.

I saw Smoak in the Cape League(for the Cotuit Kettleers) in '06. You Texas fans are gonna love him when he establishes himself in the bigs.

he has to develop in the minor leagues first. the kid is only 22 years old and is still getting better. He'll be with the Rangers by this September though i would think

exactly. Davis is a great 1st baseman so he looks to be the future at the position. Smoak should be the DH as long as Davis gets right.
We sent Davis down to AAA a couple days ago but I still believe in him as our future 1st baseman. If he cant get things right, Smoak is a great insurance policy
