The Arabic term used is "azwaja," which means "spouses, or pairs.' It is derived from the root "zawj", which literally means "pair." This verse clearly shows the plants have pairs Readers will notice the user purposefully picked his own translations of this verse, to try and give a one sided image

If you've studied comparative religion, you would know that a word may have many meanings which contradict one another. 3 meanings maybe correct, 1 maybe correct. You have to choose the right meaning, otherwise according to the same standards, you should also choose the wrong meaning in the example I gave.

If you claim there are contradictions in Quran, it is only because of lack of knowledge as many people will make that claim without anaylsing: translations, historical context, etc.

I find it very hard to accept that something is true because there is agreement, while presenting it as 'absolutely true beyond any doubt'. Old Testament was translated into Arabic for 1st time in 924 AD. The Quran was revealed 200 YEARS BEFORE the O.T was translated into Arabic. The N.T was translated in about 1000AD, which was 300 years after Muhammed died, PROVING he could NEVER copy.

You CANNOT pick meanings of the words at that time when Quran was revealed, since it says it's for the whole of humanity (14:1, 39:41, etc). Ostrich eggs by all accounts and measurements are ovals, and very visibly so. The earth therefore does not look like an ostrich egg, unless you're a Believer. Besides that, the translation 'ostrich egg' in the Quranic passage under discussion is sanctioned neither by tradition nor philology.
