  • what the fuck is he doing!!!!!!???????

  • "there are no set rules. Thats the way I feel them so thats the way I do them" - Bertil Fox

  • this isnt a bad technique how about all you fat barstards give it a shot with heavier weights than usual and come back and complain not to mention your all a bunch of cowards

  • @silicon605

Capslock is cruise control for cool

  • ...

  • thats he's style and all i can say it works,if you take a look at those huge biceps and i will be using that style in future.

  • Lousy form. I think he was just in a hurry to go get his steroids rammed into his buttocks.

  • dudes dead now,

  • @beast36001 No he's not. He's in jail for life at St. Kits

  • @SR4LosersIsMYBITCH lol

thats as good as dead , thinks hes been in the pen for some yrs now,

  • @beast36001 Haha that is true. Dead in the sense of a bber.. I think at least 10 years in there...

  • @koenbp

    roids

    Stay natural buddy!

  • roids

  • anytime your elbow is above the shoulder while the bicep is flexed helps develop your peaks. ronnie dows the same thing but with the two calbes standing. i understand bertils tech. :)

  • its like if he was curling with bicep then make it comeback with tricep

  • What, no failure?? Pussy.

  • shit this guy is insane going all the way back wiv 40kg dumbells if i tried that my arms wid rip out

  • shit that guys 1 strong mofo

  • powerhouse was di man

  • awesome, not sure about going over the shoulders but still crazy

  • Awsome

  • it worked for him

  • A lot better than watching idiots @ my gym trying to do 150 lb. incline dumbell presses without a spotter going through all these different grunts & screams just to watch them fail after a half a rep.

  • ...

  • I tried them yesterday. They actually give the biceps an extra stretch. I like them, and I dont feel any pain in my shoulders today. So I´ll give them a shot for a while

  • There is just something about the 80s style training.. Brutal Bertil... Barbarian Brothers... etc. Much more raw & impressive to watch imo

  • ...

  • These are actually Incline Hammer Curls that he's doing.

  • I know but I've never seen someone alternating with his delts this extreme.

  • This looks more like a reversed pull over than a curl, but anyway... he had brutal biceps.

  • hes in prison for life for murder

  • ...

  • everyones body is different, i tried these and they worked a bit like the deadlift for overall, but give them a fair go.

  • with these arms he can do the curls like he wana do...who could say that this way doesn´t work?

  • Exactly, technique can change over a long period of time, people have their own opinions on how they wish to do things but keep in mind though they do realize how to and how not to do things.

  • ...

  • Alot of people know that they use STEROIDS and they are not being arrested for it. So, that is not the reason they keep silent about STEROIDS.

The reason they don't talk about their STEROIDS is because STEROIDS make you bigger and stronger. They don't want us to know that they CHEATED by using STEROIDS.

The other reason they don't talk about STEROIDS is because some of them endorse/sale supplements. It is the STEROIDS that made them bigger and stronger, not their supplements.

  • i admire him as a bodybuilder but not as a person. love that animal scream he lets out at :17.

  • Comment removed

  • My shoulders, elbows, and wrist all hurt just watching that. Jeez! That would F-up 99% of all people's shoulders.

  • no it wouldn't

  • no it wouldnt.

  • this guy invented his own training style with new techniques i like that about him

  • I can accept his barbell curls, but this... this is too much.

  • wow interesting technique idk about form

  • i almost wish that shut wouldn't have happened so we could have seen what his full potential could have been

  • If those didnt make you sore, nothing would.

  • thats actually brutal fox 1, but he does these in brutal fox 2 also.

  • this is from brutal fox 2, he explains that it is a weird style he is using, but its how he feels them.

also, in brutal fox 2, he is on par if not stronger then coleman, as he does shoulders then back, and they fit legs in to finish, looks like all in one day.

he does more sets then coleman, and similar weight, ive got all coleman vids, but brutal fox 2 matches, if not comes very close, incredible strenght, you have to see the full video, it isnt all posted up on youtube just bits of it.

  • lou ferrigno did 100 lbs dumb bells. Ronnie coleman makes this guy look little

  • In no way does Coleman ever make Fox's pec and arm development look little. This guy had bigger arms and pecs than Coleman 14 YEARS before Coleman stepped on an Olympia stage with his gut all over it, i.e. before Coleman had even touched a weight. With the insulin and hgh Coleman took for years at his disposal Fox would have wiped the floor with him. AND he had calves too...

  • Bertil could have used 100 lbs dumbells if he had wanted, in a conventional style (sitting upright or standing). He probably deemed 100lbs inappropriate to use in this particular style of dumbell curls.

  • Bertil was phenomenally strong and I liked his physique but as Mike was at pains to point out maximal muscular contraction is foremost and there is none at all is this particular "style". The weight is cleaned up, elbows then rotated, weight dropped quickly. A perfect example of the legions of top guys at the top due to superior genetics and drugs, at the top in spite, not because, of their training practices. In over 28 years in the sport, this is the worst thing I've ever seen.

  • oyea never seen anyone do them likeBertil He puts emphasis on trying to keep a fast pace so that his muscle fibers contract much quicker thus limiting the breakdown to one type of muscle fiber, kind of fiber that has the best potential for growth n is responsible for quick contraction. His way of executing this movement brings close similiarities to powerlifting, many times he applied powerlifting principles in exercises that were originally intended for shaping as in this case(incline curls)

  • Speed is one thing, but this is stupidity, asking for rotator cuff problems. All hip, elbow, jerk and drop. Even powerlifters would not lift like this, and although many bodybuilders have utilised cheat curls etc at various times this is bizarre. I don;t agree with the "definition" or "shaping" exercises thing either. As AJ and MM pointed out, definition comes from diet and untimately shape is genetic.

  • Synergist. There is no way to clean the weight when you are sitting on an incline bench. He is using biceps power. I agree it is a bit risky for rotator cuff, but it is a very good way to emphasize the semi stretch in the biceps. I have done them before and got a huge pump.

  • I'm not doubting Bertil's power, it was legendary - why not start from the pre-stretch position and slowly curl the weight up, isolating the biceps, contracting hard at the top before a 4-second controlled negative...

  • Synergist, I suppose that would be another way to train, and probably safer. But I tend to make better gains when I train more explosively. I think slow reps just burn calories.

  • Very slow reps engage more muscle fibres, and with no outside forces being utilized, i.e. momentum, bouncing, jerking, there is minimal risk of injury.

  • Slow reps engage less fast twitch fibers and these fibers have the most potential for growth. Even momentum is something that the muscle had to first create through force. You are doing the same amoutn of work either way. Slow reps tend to just spread the workload more evenly over the whole rep range, where explosive reps have the sever overload at the beginning and then momentum after.

  • Sorry I should have added the caveat momentum not created by muscular contraction. Surely it is also better having the workload over the entire rep/range of motion? For longevity in bodybuilding, competitively or not, why take the risk of injury with this type of training?

  • I understand what you are saying. And since the body tends to adapt to the current routine after a few weeks I think it would be a good idea to rotate through both. But slow is certainly safer especially for older trainers.

  • Actuly i can bench press 501b and i have 9" biceps so you can " big me up" all you want. thaks for the compliment. ps frank zane could bench 10101b just before a competition lol.so i think he is the strongest b.b that ever lived.

  • And i can bench press 700 b and i have a 7" biceps. The strongest b.b was a certain John Doe who benched 1550 b in his gym.

  • This guy is a wimp!! LOL

  • I guess you are one of these tiny guys with a 13" biceps capable to do lift 80 lbs benchpress and to curl 20 lbs who are always complaining about "cheating" here. :-)

Bertil was strong as an ox and much stronger than many current bodybuilders (except Coleman, Jackson and some others).

  • old school

  • i agree CoolasIce2 but seems some people here dont understand that :/

  • Looks like a good exercise. He's combining biceps and triceps in one exercise.

  • No matter what people say the man had huge arms..so obviously he was doing something right

  • there was a article in md magazine a couple months ago about how he did not know what he was doing....he would throw the weights around on every exercise he did and jump from body part to body part..it said he talked like a complete idiot...according to the article he was a complete nut case....

  • hey weightmaster98, you sound like a little fitness bitch. you never have anything good to say. looks like his training worked for him. so get of his back.

  • it has been said before that bertil fox had no clue how to train of how to eat, that he was simply a big genetic freak who could put on that size just by "looking" at a weight, a lot of people who saw him in his competition days have told stories about him being a huge idiot who knew nothing about good form and nutrition.

  • There's nothing wrong with his form, it's not the 'perfect, slow and controlled technique' but it works and your not going to be able to lift alot more than you can handle slowly.

And he had one of the best physiques, just look at it, massive chest, massive thickness, bicep cannons, much better than Arnie & others.

And yeah where you get placed in the Olympia generally doesn't mean shit.

  • Never seen a variation of curls like this before - what's the reason in hyperextending the ROM? To stretch the tricep muscle near the elbow? It looks like he's inventing a new exercise there.

That being said, the fact that he got good results must really boggle the minds of the noname YouTube critics.

  • 10 points for the person who can guess what mucscle he is working:

    a) biceps

    b)shoulders

    c) lats

    d) only God knows

    (answer - d)

  • I admired his physique years ago but you can see with the momentum created there is literally no bicep contraction at all. I suppose it shows that genetics and steroids can actualise a physique in spite of training methods. This is the worst form I've seen in 28 years by ANY bodybuilder at any level.

  • its working something. as long as there is control. But I do understand there needs to be some concentration workouts.

  • This is very dangerous and look at where his mindset got him - in prison! Beware!

  • Haha, what do shitty curls have to do with murdering two people?

  • strange technique

  • his form is terrrible but i just love watching this animal train he is both amusing and scary at the same time. he is very srtong to do that. i wonder if he is in a wheel chair yet?

  • When.if he get's out of prison perhaps Vince McMahon can book him for WWF Wrestling. He would fit right in. LOL!

  • Doing curls this way is both worthless and dangerous. Caveat emptor. This guys gains came from ROIDS not his training.

  • Unless you want to build size shit for brains.LOL

  • You don't build size doing this vrap shit for brains. Ever hear of Larry Scott? His arms went from 15 to 20 doing nothing but strict Scott Curls. Okay shit for brains?

  • The top part is a ripoff of a technique used by Dave Draper. Except he used better form and had way better arms than this FREAK! This technique by Fox is dangerous and non productive. Proves that ROID od'ing can make you big though.

  • Non productive? Yeah I guess that's why Bertil appeared in so many competitions like the Olympia shit for brains. He's built like a brick house

  • ugh... what muscle group is he trying to work? Is this some kind of weird shoulder workout? Seems like torn cartilage waiting to happen.

  • I have no idea what Bertil is working when he flings those dumbbells past vertical. Seen hundreds of bodybuilders lift and never saw that one before. My shoulder joints ache just watching him.

  • I don't think Bertil knows what he is working either, possibly thinking about his next robbery or murder??? ROID RAGE???

  • lmao, you guys are so fucking stupid bitching about his form. 99.9% of you will never come near being as big as him.

  • Horrible technique. Easy to see why Bertil lacked "muscle quality", messed up his physique and got wiped out when he left NABBA and went up against some real competition in the IFBB. So much potential. What a shame.

  • "muscle quality' is a term used for definition. That comes from diet. You can't shape your muscles by adjusting your rep style.

  • "muscle quality" is a term used to identify the overall shape & form as well as definition. Bertil was huge, arms were grotesque looking thus he lacked muscle quality. GOT IT???

  • I guess that's why he placed so well in his olympia competitions shit for brains.GOT IT???

  • How much higher could he have placed if only he knew how to train properly shit for brains? But oh I forgot, what do you know about training? LOL!

  • what the fuck is that

  • that technique worked 4 him, so stop talkin about it

  • No, the drugs worked. How he lifted probably made little difference.

  • Exactly. However, Bertil would have been wise to have trained with Vince Gironda and learned how to balance out his physique like Mohamed Makkawy did who used to beat Bertil with monotous regularity.

  • Muscles only grow from overload. They do not fail to grow because the overload was "sloppy". I think you are confusing the philosphies of training with posing. I saw nothing wrong with Bertil's physique.

  • bro, you really need to do your research if you think that. steroids only provide you with extra testosterone levels to make bigger strength gains, and recover muscle quicker. how you train is everything.

  • i like that tank top, anyone know where i can buy one like that

  • i've never seen it done that way.

  • yo...this is like the 4th vid ive watched of this dude...i cant understand his technique for the life of me

  • bertil fox, is great all you losers talking trash you never been on a olympia stage, you never been a thing in bodybuilding. You don't even have love and respect for the sport. People that love bodybuilding don't talk trash about champions

  • amen brother!

  • What a stupid styleeeee..

  • Explains why his physique was so messed up. Who trained this guy, Stevie Wonder?

  • Here we go with the "messed up" physique thing again. What exactly does messed up mean? Did you see any visible injuries on his body during his career? I didn't. There is no such thing as "quality" muscle. You either put on muscle or you don't.

  • I need help. I do 6 sets of dumbbell curls with 20 pounds about 20 on each arm. Then 6 sets of hammer curls. And then normal dumbbell curls again for 4 sets. Then 4 sets of concentration curls. Which all takes about an hour. I don't feel sore after a workout. Is that a bad thing? Any suggestions that can help me?

  • Yes, cut the workload in half and increase the weight.

  • i no this was 3 months ago, and i only train for football but, i think you should go up on weight a lil bit, and lessen the amount of sets

  • ok, that is just horrible. What is he trying to do, work his legs?? I have never ever seen anyone cheat that bad on incline curls, supposedly an "isolation" exercise. Does this type of horrible form actually work??

  • "Cheating" with big weights works. Bertil was the most massive BB on the world in his days.

  • Cheat reps force extra muscle growth and makes you stronger quicker but you will get sore tendons so dont train this way too long

  • Convited double murderer. And former train driver (London Underground). Mind the Gap Bertil, twat.

  • this cunt is a pussy

  • I am sure if Bertil followed your training he would have arms as big as most of you 15 inches?

  • tear your rotator cuffs this way..I agree terrible form and rage induced training leads to injury..

  • did you guys come up with that workout no,so how can u say poor form.rest my case

  • mikeplaybitch, treskofjerkoff, augyfaggy, assholeddfkf, and locodumbo

you five aren't worthy enough to wash Bertil's gym socks after his workout let alone criticize his technique. He's 50 times better than you weak punks will ever be so just shut the fuck up you jealous faggots!

  • He's really turning it into a total upper body exercise! I'm sure the man did strict curls in his routine too. There is a tremendous amount of strain being put on the biceps on the negative, with 90lbs. No doubt about that.

  • D-Bol, breakfast of champions!! Still, 22" arms are still awesome no matter how you get em'!!

  • Wow!!! I have never ever seen this guy training and what do i find after all these years, worst "technique" for biceps, im not even sure if u work biceps that way, or could be that called a technique? Just look that jump like doin' some heavy barbell press for shoulders, then he raises the dumbell in a posicion so unnatural even for the delts....its awful, and are this "the legends" that we are supossed to follow, i have seen ugly curls from Arnold, but this guy must be on Guiness...

  • I totally agree; never try to follow a champion's training techniques as they got there by being born with many genetic adavantages

  • wtf was that...worst curling technique and form ive ever seen. roids cant make you retarded or can they?

  • Anything works when you are taking 600 mg. of testosterone per day like he was - heavy steroid users never usually learn to workout correctly. Today Bertil is as skinny as a rail since he isn't allowed the juice in prison where the retard is serving life for murdering his wife and mother-in-law with a shotgun. Go ahead and emulate your hero morons.

  • you did forget to mention his butt-action in prison!

  • nice form,idiot

  • stupid nigger, curling like that is bollocks. just swingin them up, i can strict curl those bitches for 20 reps, no swingin.

  • Your weak, he's a murderer you both can f&*%k off both of you nobodies.

  • you are so stupid. just shut up.

  • In my opinion...He is strong but.. that technique sucks.... Even Schwarzenegger would use less weight ( I read that in Flex Mag)... doing that in the last reps would be ok... but from the beggining i dont think so..

  • too bad he murdered his wife

  • true true..

  • who is this man? he has such wonderful charisma..I bet he is a really nice guy..

  • Incline deltcurl

  • sad ending for a man like that...

  • This guy is a killer, litterally!

  • did he just invented a new exersice using his delts too much

  • Sounds like monkeylanguage :p I bet this comment will pizz somebody off haha

  • that's the most bizzare technique i've ever seen

  • that looks like a compound movement!

  • 90lb incline curls... insane!

  • what kind of training is that?
