i have locks but for some reason everytime they get wet or even when i sweat they shrink why is that someone please like me know what i need to do

what about for like..white people hair? i dont mean to sound like racist, but mines like a lot straighter than black peoples. whenever i attempt to twist my hair, it doesn't look right :/

Thank you for this! I used to get my hair RETWISTED and I didnt know there wasnt a such thing and it should have been either palm rolled or interlocked. Now this explains why I had dreads break off.

how is it any diffrence from palm rolling tention and fingure twisting tention arent they the same

There are several ways to retwist, including the palm roll. Not everyone has locked their hair using the palm roll method. One can retwist by using their fingers to turn the hair clockwise or counter. One can also retwist by latching. It's also a retwist b/c it is using the latch to twist the loc into the new growth, thus tightening the newgrowth into a hair that will bud and eventually lock. Many locs are successful w/o palmroll as long as it is taken care of and not messed w/ too much.

@naturalhairz I agree with Karian...the "right" way if you want a uniform look would me to palm roll. If you are not concerned about that like many arent then other ways work just as well...if you feel happy with your hair once it is retwisted and your hair is healthy...you have done it the right way.

@naturalhairz Also, to be even more technical, combs were created by anglo saxons aka Europeans. Soooo technically, the comb used in this video would be incorrect.

Palm rolling is retwisting, it is just a matter of symantics. If someone asks to have thier locs retwisted, I am sure you know exactly what they mean

I'm glad you posted this video. my boyfriend wanted me to tighten his locs, and i never knew how (lol)... i know, it's sad. thanks to you, he doesn't have to go around looking like he's rocking two different styles. keep the clips coming!!!
