We can talk and criticize as much as possible-and I don't condone what she does-but it is not my position to criticize but to pray. Shirley Miller, cousin to Edwin and Walter Hawkins, and a member of the original Edwin Hawkins Singers, Love Center Choir, and Hawkins Family Singers is in the chorus. Shirley and Yvette have been together now (2010) for 25 years, pretty much since Yvette became an extended family member of the Hawkins. They are 2 of my favorite singers, anywhere, anytime, period! Happy 25th, Yvette and Shirley. I love you both, and I'm lucky to have seen both of you perform many times in concert and praise.

I can only imagine the level of her anointing if that change was made in her lifestyle..I thought both she and Bishop Carlton Pearson were starting a movement that embraced the gay & lesbian community and encouraged change, rather than upholding and leading them in away from the cross.

Thank you so much gisgatt1! Sin is still a reproach, and holiness is right, regardless! I'm sick and tired of us being seen as judgmental because we believe in calling sin by its right name. Homosexuality, along with gossip, lying, and fornication are SINS according to the Word of God. Yvette needs deliverance from this sin, not encouragement in it! We can't just say we love Christ and live anyway we want to!

The biggest thing that gets me is not the struggle with the sin, but the gloating and arrogance of the sin from the sinner. It is one thing for a person to struggle with the sin, but a whole another thing when those say sins have their rights. What people are saying when they stand up for a sin is that, "satan you can sit on the throne and get glory."
