Birdman is garbage then & now. ATHF or Family Guy are the funniest shows on AS. Plus, I don't know about them not being "real" superheroes, they're about as real as any other superhero. But you're right, in the end who cares it's just all about reliving the saturday morning thing one more time. No matter who you get into.
Take away Avenger...and Birdman wouldn't have lasted one single episode.
