  • I've only heard of the Liebherr T282 and the Komatsu 930 being the biggest, never heard of the CAT 797 being the biggest.

  • Old mate is a big unit himself , fat bastard.....

  • Much bigger than 93's

  • Damn!!!

  • You can get a used one for about $1,000,000.

  • Do those air filters get trashed? Or, are they sent back to Cat for recycling? Just curious...

  • @fidobeto they recycle them

  • @fidobeto Caterpilla are very strict when it comes to contamination control. The only parts which get re-used are internal components. Things such as air filters all get replaced with brand new parts. source: westrac employee (australia's biggest cat dealer)

  • @orangemod the 797B has a 24 cylinder engine which is actually two V12 engines coupled to make a 24 cylinder engine. The newer 797F has an 20 cylinder engine. Which cat facility do u work at Dave? Cheers, Vidyut

  • What's the torque output of that motor?

  • @Spidrunkrit Good question. I asked at work & no one seems to know. It has to have 4500 lbs of torque at least. I'll try to find out, I am curious myself. Cheers, Dave

  • @orangemod I believe the formula is (Torque x Engine speed) / 5,252 = Horsepower.. So.. If we had a specific RPM we could figure it.

  • @Spidrunkrit Very Kool, Spid.

It turns a maximum rpm of 1960. Funny thing too, the specs say it is a 24 cylinder, but I have counted the heads several times and the current engine has 20 cylinders. The 797AC electric truck has 2 engines, but I haven't seen one up close yet. I'm really proud of what we build, but think better pay would cause more pride among the rank & file. I take pride regardless because I do it for me, not someone else, but better pay would be nice. Cheers, Dave

  • I am part of the team that builds these impressive trucks. I'll tell you, when I come in every morning and stand next to it, it never ceases to amaze !!! The 24 cylinder engine has more generators, pumps and gadgets attached to it... I am a mechanic and cant even tell you what all it has attached to it. It is capable of 6,000 h.p. but the Cat engineers kept it at about 4,000 so it will remain very reliable. It will last for many years. You'd have to see it to appreciate it.

  • I take great pride when I build the Caterpillar trucks. Quality improvements are always something we think about, but being such a big company a regular worker like myself cant always get the quality-improvement ideas to management even with Kaisan and continuous improvement boards...but our quality is very good. An oil change & fluid change would likely be more than my weekly paycheck !!!

    Cheers, Dave

  • I started operating trucks like this one 2 months ago. It's amazing how operator friendly they are. The steering is quite sensitive, they'll do about 40 m/p/h and cost about 5 Million us. This video is very good and is a great way for people to see things like this.

  • the truck wash guy is wearing a race tech sticker he durrtbikkesss amg

  • There is a lot of oil in Alberta.. I'ts too bad the oil sands only produce 2 barrels of oil for every 1 barrel expended in extracting it. Iraq oil is more like 50 to 1. Our bases are directly on the fields.

  • thats all nice, but can i park it in driveway?

  • @urmomisfineinbed it can park anywhere it wants to! :p

  • $6,000,000 US

  • I want to buy one and i park it in my garden!

  • buen camion pero como caterpillar tiene sus falencias.

  • imagine going on a road rampage with this thing... they would probably call the fucking pentagon. xD

  • @5233484 buen camion pero como todo caterpillar tiene sus fallas y lo he comprobado,

  • @5233484 You'd be restricted to 3 or 4 lane roads. /in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia there is a gold mine called the Superpit. Every year, when the mining expo is on, they drive these monsters down the main street. They just barely fit on two lanes. They remove road signs where they have to turn

  • what show is this?

  • ive preasure washed one of the largest tracrors and that took 2 days!

  • Dude, the sound is way too low ... could hardly understand anything!

And put a space before/after hyphens.

  • 1,375,000 that's heavier than a locomotive. If I was crossing the rail road track, I wouldn't worry, but if I was the engineer driving the train I would jump out. That train is coming off the track, especially if I'm carrying a full load.

  • GREAT TV SHOW !!!!!! I WATCHED THIS ONE here IN ITALY ON SKYTV !!! thanks a lot for sharing !!!! discovery, national geo, history channels and so on..are teaching me a lot of things I did not know !!! graziee ciaooooo

  • I would love a oportunity to drive this big truck, the flagship of the cat machines.

  • i think its absolutely hilarious how folks who have never even met in person feel compelled to nit pick at each other online.

  • Awesome!

  • geeze, I wonder how big the diesel motor is in that thing? my god

  • you should wonder how big is my big cock !!!!!!

  • probably small unless you a picture to prove it

  • i want to buy one !

how much does this truck cost?

  • millions

  • where to buy these trucks? d'ya think i can buy one on ebay???

  • @JadoreFaireCaca more than likely

  • it says in the video 5,5 million dollars

  • @JadoreFaireCaca, 500000000000000000 dollars= 5.5 mill dol;ars

  • @JadoreFaireCaca 5-6 million depending on accessories and upgrades (i.e. hydraulic boarding ladders...ac and stereo etc...)

  • @JadoreFaireCaca about USD 5 million est - 2008 guide price.

  • 5.5 million

  • @plueoo7

this truck costs 5 millions of euros???? of 5 millions of US. DOLLARS?????

Because, if it's 5 millions of US dollars, i need to win megamillions (US lottery 1 chance to win in 273.000.000)

if it's 5 millions of euros, it's absolutely diffferent ! i need to win euromillions ( european lottery, 1 chance to win in 76.000.000)

conclusion: i must to play european lottery called euromillions, because i have more chance to win (1 in 76.000.0000)

    lol

  • @JadoreFaireCaca $5 million its says in the video?

  • @JadoreFaireCaca 5.5 millon they say it in the start

  • @JadoreFaireCaca Tells you about the 8th word in....dumbass.

  • @JadoreFaireCaca I was looking at an online ad from an overseas mining company in Spain. For a used one they are asking $2.4 million. If you have the money to buy this truck, cut me in for 50% since I found her for you. LOL

  • @germanchocolate1982

hey, i need to win euromillion first !!!

  • @JadoreFaireCaca 5.5 million :P

  • @JadoreFaireCaca 5.5 million :P

  • @JadoreFaireCaca 8 million AUD dollars, this doesn't include accessories such as ladders, bumpers, hand rails, fire systems, etc. in total your looking at 8.4 million...

  • @JadoreFaireCaca 5 million dollars

  • @JadoreFaireCaca 5 million dollars

  • @JadoreFaireCaca 5 million dollars idiot...

  • @JadoreFaireCaca They say 5.5 million dollars @ #t=0m54s

  • @JadoreFaireCaca over 3 million dollars

  • @JadoreFaireCaca Oh shit man there only 5 million each why not buy 2 ?

  • @leeester79

    lol

  • I think it's impossible to make a truck like that,an ecological one.:D without emissions

  • It would be nice if Caterpillar offered a larger selection of colors for its trucks and equipment. It would be fascinating to see a Caterpillar 797F mining truck painted gloss piano black. Or in fire-engine red. Or in scarlet orange. Or in deep, dark purple. Or in any other color in the rainbow.

  • that's a HUGE mothatrucka

  • thats a waste of precious precious life water

  • do they have a limousine version of this truck ???? thanx.

  • lol lets put chromed rims on this baby!

All my toys and lawn equiptment r two stroke . Does anyone see japan china or Korea keepin shit green all of you are just breakin your asses . Fuck off

  • @Origional79s you watch how many tree hugging buggers... use the internet,,,( with computers and and energy alll made form the very things they hate, coal etc)... to tell you how bad all this mining and smelting is,,,,,, wake up to urself you uneducated and or skull fukkd brain dead greenies.... you use hypocrites ways to get ur hypocrites points acrosss.....OMFG i wonder why we dont give a fukkkkkk

  • HOW ABOUT SHUT UP

  • well I know it comes in green white and yellow and I thin maybe red but not black.

  • "those machines r helping make what the earth is today"

And you think that's a good thing? The earth is becoming a poisoned, polluted, over developed wasteland. This machine represents the idiotic dependence that this country has on fossil fuels. If we spent as much money on solar energy as we do on producing fossil fuels we could be well on our way to becoming a society that is completely free of the use of any polluting fuels.

  • Oh go soak your head.

  • Ok, but while I do that think about this...

Pregnant women can't eat some kinds of fish because they are so full of mercury that eating enough of it WILL cause birth defects. Guess where that mercury comes from? Also with the 5.5 million dollars it takes to purchase one of these 797s you could buy about 2.4 MW worth of solar panels. That's enough to cover the roof of at least 5 Wal-Marts with solar panels.

  • Comment removed

  • Solar panels only work when the sun shines. What happens at night or on cloudy days. Thanks but I believe in progress, not pasty skinned birkenstock wearing anti business loons who want to throw us back to the stone age.

  • I'm not talking about off the grid systems. The point is to reduce emissions, not destroy our way of life. The grid would still provide power at night and whenever the PVs can't produce enough energy to power the home.

  • He had you beat there. besides we cant do shit about it so why keep complaining?

  • No he's just ignorant and has never heard of a grid tie system.

  • yup yup, life is just a drag. We are suicidal, thats why we build these things. The end of the world couldnt come soon enough for most of us, so we do our best to bring it about sooner. You think these do a good job, wait till you see the machines we build for war.

  • @idontcare80 wow you are retarded arent you?

  • @robby844 You're calling me retarded yet you can't explain why you think that about me? All I did was state facts. Moron.

  • @idontcare80 lol facts you call saying that solar is more efficient that this fact? solar would be more efficient than this in 15 years.that fact.the bull your spilling is lies you retard.

  • @robby844 Solar is infinitely more efficient than ANY fuel on earth moron! There are people that not only power their home entirely with solar power but also their vehicles, and that's true zero emissions energy! WTF do you think, that solar panels pump out pollution, or create huge piles of radioactive waste? How dumb are you?

  • @idontcare80 5.5 mill for a 2.8 megawatt system....are you high? try 1.8 billion for the complete system.and you really think they system has zero emissions? i tihnk you need to read a book.

  • @robby844 ROFLMFAO!!! Solar energy systems produce energy with ZERO emissions PERIOD. Also, my numbers were a bit off. A 215 watt Kyocera panel costs about $590, it would take 11163 of them to make a 2.4 Mw system, that comes to $6.6 million. I think you need to learn how to do math.

  • @idontcare80 Ohhh I get it now. You think solar panels create enormous amounts of pollution to MAKE. Which means you also think that making the big dumpers like this Cat, running the mining equipment to mine coal, transporting coal, burning coal, building power lines and building power plants all takes less energy than making some solar panels that produce emission free energy for decades.

  • @idontcare80 so by what your saying were gonna have to build more coal burners? and besides i dont give a fuck about coal because we (america) doesnt rely ENTIRELY on coal like you think.this show was shot in canada.if im right (and i know i am) we (america) has only 4 coal burners still in use. but alas thats only on the east side of the country.

  • @robby844 About 60% of the energy in the US comes from coal, moron.

  • @idontcare80 lol you are very sadly mistaken.you think that the government will use pissy ass harbor freight gook panels hahahhahah.try motorola or general electric panels at 22 grand a piece.2 foot wide by 3 feet long.and no the solar panels do emit emissions.you still need a transfer station to transfer the power.oh and what about the converting station to convert DC to AC?

  • @robby844 The "gooks" make the most efficient panels in the world, you prejudiced peice of shit. And I don't give a fuck what our idiotic, corrupt government would buy, I would buy whatever fits my needs best because I would put them on MY house. Converting current from DC to AC does not produce any emissions BTW, you ignorant fuck.

  • lol omg u r so sad. thats your attitude yet you are on a computer full of all kinda stuff mined out of the ground or made of nasty plastic and using electricity polluting the atmosphere. go play in the traffic dick!

  • hahaha, thought that might rattle your cage ,its youtube fella, like i give a fuck!!!

  • The Caterpillar 797 series and other haulers of 300-400 tons will be eclipsed by even larger haulers in the near future that will boast 8000+HP diesel-electric engines, duplex rear axles, carrying capacities of 750-1000 (or MORE!) tons, all-wheel-drive, and 10 wheels with rims of 70-plus inches in diameter each shod with tires of at least 17+FEET in diameter. The dimensions of these trucks will probably be about 35 feet wide, 35 feet high (with the dumper down) , and 75 feet long.

  • The use of bigger machines will result in fewer machines and less fuel needed to perform the big jobs in mining, excavation, construction, and other major projects. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the practical 'upper limit' for rubber tires/tyres is about 20 feet in diameter. I heard from sources within Caterpillar that the new 1000+ton-payload trucks will be built around late 2011 or early 2012 if everything goes well.

  • @glenn3rd2004 You obviously live in a fantasy world, buddy. I read at least 100 comments posted by you on YouTube, Flickr, and other sites concerning mining/construction/farming equipment, tractors, tanker/cruise/cargo ships, pipe organs, tuba players, angry cats, and Serena Williams and I found all your comments utterly pointless, baseless, and stupid. Please don't you ever post any more comments on any website unless you first do your proper research.

  • @glenn3rd2004 they are already built and are in testing dipshit.and they are only 750 ton MAX capacity.

  • Did he say they cost 5 and a half million dollars ? Thats crazy. Just the tires alone cost $360,000. Thats more than my house.

  • That is Awsome, how can you get a job driving one of them trucks that be so kewl.

  • hope there is more video about this^_^

  • i like this host.

  • how much tons can it haul???

  • 380tons

  • Comment removed

  • It can successfully haul 469 tons. I know because I drive one for a living in Fort McMurray.

  • How many hours will one of these trucks do in a life time?

  • These are the biggest available in the market now, the payload is in short tons (907 kg) ManufacturerModeltons LiebherrT 282 B400 TerexMT 6300AC400 Caterpillar797B380 Komatsu960E-1360 TerexMT 5500360 Belaz75600353 Komatsu930E-2320 LiebherrTi 272320 HitachiEH5000316 HitachiEH4500-2280 TerexBD 270270
  • Ed Faulk must work for Finning Caterpilar. The new 797F is a 400 ton hauler

  • lol my dick should be on this show XD

  • then the world could see how small it is:)

  • I'd rather not see down there :D If you could make it invisible... then YEAH!

  • never driven one of these but we use komatsu 930e. bout the same size i think

  • The 3524B engine alone cost over 600 large

  • Cat has replaced this off highway hauler with an even bigger model the 400ton 4,000hp 797F.

  • this truck is a 400 ton truck. trust me, i drive 797B's for a living

  • 797B - Payload weight: 380 short tons (345 t)

  • where can i buy some!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

  • i want one in chrome wheels and spinners.

  • lol nice
