Mr. Schofield please have note of the comments made by "Alto89singer", I agree mostly with him; he is correct in his statements. The more you pronunce correctly the words in "lied", the more you get into transmiting the emotions of this songs lyrics. Please ,do you have a new version of thsi song?(I guess you must be know in your early 40's?; for your kind of tenor, this is the best age!!!).I liked very much anyhow your interpretation.Bravooo!!!

Thank you for posting this video when I just started (I am in my early 30's in here). I guess I did not pronunced german well...but to say I was drunk...ha,ha....that is nonsense (I don't drink or make any kind of drugs,dear sir;my 1.96mts and 110 kgs are due to a life in weigthlifting;not a "drinking bear inflated body". I guess I must say I still like it; reminds me of the ilusions I got in those days.

He is truly a great singer, and in here you can see that he is still very young. I saw him in 2007 at T¨ne Halle in Hann., singing this same lied, much better (like 40 kgs. ligther;great stage presence). For me, he is a big huge lyric tenor; not a dramatic one. His german is not good in here.Please someone hang the recent ones of this lied by the same tenor; you will agree with me that he improved very much!!!

i've sang this song a couple of times. I can tell you that i like your voicce, but don't hide in it. Do try to put feeling to the words, the song is nothing without feeling, and try to use more diction with your German. The more crisp you get the words the better but always with feeling of what you are singing. I enjoyed listening to you.

nuevamente lo que para mi es algo en que usted debe trabajar es el timbre, aqui suena como un baritono , musicalmente hay leves desencuentros con el pianista, pero el musico es EL usted aun no, debio seguirlo un poco mas ,nunca se olvide del significado real de la letra , la interpretacion del cantante no solo es un asunto de gesticulacion facial si no tambien de interpretacion entonada y verbalizada la voz debe ser capaz de declamar el estado de animo del compositor no el propio.
