i used to run hurdles but ill be honest, i cring when i think about steeplechase because hurdles knock over when you hit em - the steeples dont. Its extremely dangerous trying to jump over a solid object, especially when your tired....

if you freeze frame at the time he falls, it looks like he messed up his jump by taking a step with his right foot, then he should have lifted his left one to jump, but he put the left one down too and he didn't have enough room to jump, so he ran straight into it. he couldn't help it, he was going too fast to react with the suddenly little room left.
