I lived that on the news every day. My take is he was set up without question.

GM exec's paid off the FBI and concocted this scam.

GM had governmental regulators in their back pockets and kept DeLorean from setting up shop in America. DeLorean found Ireland with open arms and did what GM couldn't do and succeeded.

I really enjoyed this documentary, but I only had one problem. They barely mentioned "Back To The Future". Just one clip of Christopher Lloyd shown twice. I understand this was not about the movies, but it really is the reason why this car is so famous today. They should have at least mentioned that "The Delorean" was Immortalized because of these movies.

Delorean was very lucky to get away with his appalling behaviour. He should have served a long sentence for drug trafficking and another one for fraud in the UK. He was an awful character and the real losers were the workers and the taxpayers.

This is an indictment on the system of free market capitalism which consigns so many people to a life of poverty on the dole.

An economy based on making things for people's needs planned so that it is balanced is the way forward - without shareholders and leeches, with good wages and conditions.
