I had the idea for a shot-for-shot remake of this movie - James Woods in the Sterling Haiden role - Tim Wilson in the Slim Pickens role - David Ogden Stiers as the Russian Ambassador - Gene Hackman in the G.C.Scott role - "The Rock" as Bat Gwano - Rowan Actkinson as flight leftenant Mandrake - Bob Newhart as the president - Christofer Lloiyd as the doc.
"Dr. Strangelove",alongside other great Cold War films like "Fail Safe" (1964) and "The Bedford Incident" (1965), will surely remain an impeccable (albeit hilarious) classic for many decades to come. Outstanding acting, gloomy and dreary b&w backgrounds, negative outcomes/climaxes; these films actually reflect a doubtful time when the world was on the constant brink of annihilation. They do not make them like that any more, and same for the actors.I own all 3 films and can't get enough of them!
Everytime i watch Dr Strangeglove it is the Peter Bull trying not to laugh that makes me erupt so much. You can't help but wish to have been in that room during that take. lol

Watch again when Seller's is playing Dr Strangelove...the extras in the background can be seen trying to stop themselves from laughing.

Especially Peter Bull who played the Russian Ambassador! You should see him cracking up in the background near the end!
