Rons never going to win, she asked him "Do you think we should legalize pot alone, or drugs like cocaine, heroin, and meth?" And he answer's with his opinion of pot again.

Support the legalization in California of Cannabis. Yes it's on the ballot. Yes finally. Yes it will pass. The only way it won't pass is everyone's too stoned or asleep to vote, come on it's California.
The referendum will be on the november 2010 ballot.
Cannabis should be legalized immediately, not only do people have receptors in the brain that are cannabis-friendly that establish a relationship between man and cannabis, but also has proven healing effects that have been used since 2700 BC and has been cultivated before 3000 BC, even the term "Marijuana" or "Marihuana" in fact was used to demonize the herb and to make people not familiar with the word be scared of it "marijuana" or "marihuana" originally was a cheap cigarette brand in Mexico
Well, it is still hypocrisy. If u don´t want to legalize all, so that people can get clean drugs and clean plants, you´ll turn into the same shit as every other sheep on this planet, and that my friend u din´t want, because you aren´t.
I hate even the term "legalize" drugs, as if the government has the right to give us permission to use them. And that DEA is a moron. Merril-Lynch doesn't sell stocks to children. A real estate agent doesn't sell houses to children. We're not talking about fucking children.
Once again, the be all end all argument from the opposing side brings up the kids and how they will become "addicts" or it will some how be easier for them to get.
Ron Paul fucking owned that dude with facts, not propaganda.
All victimless crimes should be legal.
The other parallel of prohibition is gangsters benefiting from it and using violence and fear through a black market.
Legalize it and the people or states can regulate it themselves to make it safe.
just looking at all of these comments almost makes me sick to my stomach!! lol so many people with so much rage and hatred towards each other and thats one of the very reason we can't how a truely intelligent and informed conversation over these topics.
once we all learn to love our fellow men and women and understand that we need to stay out of other peoples' lifes, this world will be so much better. I just hope it happens soon, before its too late
There is going to be a vote in D.C. on the legalization of marijuana at the federal level. To show your suport go to the norml web site and click on take action. From there you will be able to E-mail or print out a prewriten leter to send to your state repersentatives. All you have to do is fill in some info. Together we can bring change
Dr. Paul frightens me with some of his personal views... but so much of his political views are sound. In this case, as so many of his other political views, he is dead right and spot on the mark!
Man that Stutman guy is a fear mongering retard, if you put marijuana behind a counter and you have to have an I.D. to get it, how is that getting in to childrens hands? Much like alcohol, which is far worse and can be bought at any store, kids will get a hold of it eventually. It seems that the other side of this debate always uses fear, which should be un-acceptable to the American people after the last 8 years of it.
Those same stock market gurus and DC politicians can't live without their 12 year old scotch, but thats ok. Some jerkoff goes home after a hard day at the office, gets drunk and slaps the shit out of his wife, but thats ok. We have ridiculous amounts of death in the USA due to drunk driving, but thats ok. Government can enforce marshall law, search your home without permission, seize property, lie, cheat steal and destroy the constitution, but thats ok. Oh but a guy has some pot, crucify him!
I'm so sick of these people. This is exactly the kind of attitude that hinders personal choice, personal freedom and our constitutional rights and civil liberties. These people don't even come up with any kind of fact or arguement, they merely label us as dopeheads and slander us. Stock market will crash? are you serious? Try thinking for once instead of using labels and resorting to childish name calling. He's talking about how government needs to stop telling us how to think and act. I agree!
That last stat shows exactly why drugs should be legalized. If the poll was legitimate, most people agree that marijuana, at the very least, should be legalized.
Hard drugs are more complicated but I think I would ultimately vote for it because the improper manufacture is what I believe to be the largest health threat. Meth, cocaine and some hallucinogens don't worry me overmuch.
Drugs like heroin scare me though because It would be to easy to slip it in someones drink with ill intent. If a solution to this type misuse could be proposed then I would wholly agree with a complete end to the drug war
Listen to all you pot heads, we all know the truth about MARIJUANA. I am a scientists and historian, I graduated from Harvard Law school. Here are the TRUE facts about MARIJUANA.
1) Marijuana alters your brain and you become homosexual and want to rape your friends.
2) Will make you steal, pillage, and murder to get your next fix.
3) No marijuana user has ever become successful at life because your brain turns to feceses, no exaggeration.
4) God will cast all pot heads into hell Ezekiel 16:9.
Who is that idiot of a DEA agent? Absolutely nobody is talking about 'giving drugs away' to kids'! What a farking idiot! The simple fact is that it is easier for kids to get pot than it is for them to get alcohol. If you want to keep it out of the hands of kids, regulate it like alcohol! As for usage going up, that is only true if the price goes down. The solution; legalize it and tax it at a rate sufficient to keep the price where it is, netting vast revenue for the gov.
Notice dopeheads, he didnt say legalize drugs, he said its a state regulation issue. In my state, we would never vote to universally legalize all forms of drugs, including smoking pot in public, which wouldnt change your predicament much, so dont get your hopes up.
You can legally make Beer,Wine, and Whiskey. You can legally grow Tobacco. Why can't You legally grow Pot? Because We are not as Free as the Government tells Us we are. That's what bothers Ron Paul. We are all debt slaves,to the Fed. Maybe if We could come home from work and smoke a Joint We wouldn't feel so bad about being Tax slaves.
Does anyone know when they might finally just sit down and decide if its gonna be decriminalized or not,cuz dang im anxious to findout when they might finally decide what there gonna do. I go for legalizing weed, ive smoked it,i loved it,and never had a problem with it, except for it just being illegal. SO LEGALIZE IT PLZ!!! someone let me know when they might decide about this =D

Ron Paul/Rand Paul 2012
HISTORY that We The People WILL DEFINITELY get behind.
the government wouldn't really be able to regulate it. you can't really grow your own tobacco or make your own beer but marijuana really is a weed and grows anywhere. so regulation is a joke. unless you had to buy a license to grow it. like a driver's license and every year an inspector would come check out your grow op. and renew your license just like on your car. i'd pay 100 dollars or even 2 a year to be able to grow pot. have different types of licenses for how much you grow or if you sell
zacheryanderson, you can brew you're own beer, i do, it costs me about 25p (40 cents) a pint. and i'm not a farmer, you need a barrel, a 40 pint tub a mix of hops malt etc yeast sugar and lots of water.
what i meant is you can't just throw some seeds outside and let it go for beer and tabacco. all you'd HAVE to do for marijuana is check the sex of the plant and MAYBE water it depending on where you live. it is a lot easier than making beer. i'd like to reiterate that it is a WEED.
The truth about Gateway Drug...is actually created due to the Black Market. If a person is seeking out Marijuana...and perhaps the dealer is out...they will push other things to their customers who are mostly young teens... also these dealers like to get folks hooked on other things thus they sometimes also lace the Marijuana with other things...
The truth is ....the Governments prohibition against drugs creates greater access for our young Teenagers to aquire drugs through the black market.
I wish Ron would just back marijuana. I believe most people are waking up to the anti marijuana propaganda, but hard drugs people just aren't going to stand by.
He does have a great point though. For kids, the whole reason they even do the drugs is because they're made aware of their existance and told they are bad. This makes them curious, and the fact that they are told not to ever do them has a reverse effect and kids see them as appealing. Teenagers like to rebel!
The DEA guy going against legalization is totally wrong. marijuana and drugs are everywhere the kids will get it if the want. they have the perfect place to score its called school.
I also agree no way is marijuana a gateway drug i smoke pot everyday for the past 10 years or more...I have never tried a hard drug or never will. Only a weak minded person would use the gateway drug excuse.
It will happen eventually, but it's impossible to tell when it will happen. Back in the 1970's, we thought legalization was just right around the corner, but here we are, still at this roadblock. Support the cause, dude :).
The bottom line is the government doesn't have the right to tell people what they can and can't do with their bodies so long as it doesn't hurt anybody else. I love this stupid argument about kids using drugs like that moron brought up. "If we give drugs to kids..." No one would "give" drugs to kids, at least the government wouldn't. Besides, in that case, just make it so you have to be 18 to purchase pot, heroin, meth, etc. This is such a stupid argument full of bullshit "studies".
Growing up in alaska where it was legal many kids did come to school stoned. for some reason no one seemed to care but I will tell you pot and kids is not a good combination it takes away there desire to learn.
Whether or not pot is good for kids is not the issue really. If they shouldn't have it then make it illegal for them to have it. Adults, on the other hand, are allowed to do what they please with their bodies. Let them smoke pot. Seriously, this "war" is stupid and a big waste of money.
No one is saying pot is good and kids should smoke it. The point is making it illegal won't stop them from getting it and using it. Legalizing it would solve many of the drug problems, and legalizing all drugs would solve most of the drug problems.
When they talk about pot Ron Paul is not talking about the Federal Reserve! ...sad. In the future when the sheeple see him they'll think "isn't that the pot guy?"
CNN is so discusting, this lady seems to be more focused on trying to get Ron Paul Yes, legalize all drugs in order to discredit him some how rather than sticking to the subject of legalizing weed. Don't get me wrong, FOX is just as bad.
How would that discredit him? Most journalists and even most CNN viewers would agree with his position. The libertarian (AND liberal) position has broad support. Most of the problem (on THIS issue) in modern times has been "mainstream" conservatives - the Reagan (Just say no) crowd - about 90% of Paul's party sad to say.
one day neo conservatives would try to get paul on his foreign policies and drug issue.. another day a liberal would attack paul for being fiscally conservative.. then they come together like those congressmen we have in white house whether republican or democrat, and they just pass laws that do all of the above. sad thing is people who read this probably won't even i am talking about them. ya you out there, you know who you are.
Ron Paul knows hyperinflation is coming to America because its endless spending will be paid for by printing money which is setting up a crash of the US dollar. Prepare now or go broke. Read the articles and signup for the free newsletter at: Inflation . us
Legalizing Marijuana will destroy the Mexican Drug Cartels!!!!! Its 70% of their revenue....
Kids find it easier to get pot than alcohol. If Pot were regulated like alcohol wouldn't it be just as hard to get both? So there would be less kids getting pot?
Also when something is illegal there is a certain cool factor that people want to achieve by breaking the law.
Why have states began to decriminalize possession of marijuana?
Hell no they will legalize it. That would mean fighting the liquor and beer lobby. Then you got the big pharma, they dont want it, and they are huge lobby, then you got the DEA, and all the DEA contractors, you know they don't want it, then you got the private prison industry , nope they dont want it either.
Big pharma hates the idea of people stepping out of the system and thinking about natural remedies for pain and common complaints. In my family I can think of 6 occasions in recent years when pot may have been useful, from Grandpa's shingles to a nephew's ADD. Pretty harmless with significant potential benefits.
Since 1937 there has been a huge drug revolution in the 1960s that Rock and Roll has never allowed to dissipate. Ron Paul's comparing Apples to Oranges there.
I didn't know that he wants not to legalize all drugs, but move the responsibility of prosecution to the individual states. I'll definitely need to look in to what would happen in that case before I comment further on Ron Paul and the drug wars.
Especially when we TREAT heroin addicts and alcoholics in thousands of "centers" throughout this country, at the expense of the tax payer, but if you're caught with it you're jailed, again at the expense of the tax payer.
Make sense???
But it works this way, because the money from "illegal" drugs can be traced back to a very small, but very powerful group of people...in government, and not just our own. I say, it's never gonna happen.
Nice Video. I really really liked your video, youtube can be a great asset for you. If you need any help getting your video exposed check out this site called tubeviews . net It has really done wonders for me, I have build 3 channels up with videos at top in position and this is my forth channel i'm going to working on now.
legalize it. the loss of freedom and numerous murders are debasing our culture beyond measurable statistics. The DEA agent is wrong. i want to love this country. how can i love a police state?
Natural law, if you do not violate another's property rights you have not broken the law. In fact it's the DEA that breaks the law by raiding your home and stealing your property and freedom.
i think the only reason it is not legalized right now is because there is no way to test if you are high while you are driving, except for blood test which is against peoples rights......so once they form some kind of weed Breathalyzer, I'm sure it will be legalized...
I've never in my life heard of a DUI caused solely by marijuana. I know a lot of people who smoke, all of which drive slower and more cautiously when high.
In fact, many DMV's have conducted their own studies, and TV shows in the UK, and all of their findings point towards there being no negative factor on driving while high on marijuana.
Only websites completely against marijuana use the "driving while high" BS statistic. You cannot substantiate on your life it causes more accidents.
I actually watch the news everyday, and read the National Post on a daily basis.
I'm also 21, very close to being 22. I've never really skateboarded in my life before except when very very young.
After reading some of your other comments, it's easy to see you're either an idiot or just trying to aggravate people. Supporting drug use means you support baby raping?
I love to smoke cannabis, and the worst thing I've ever done is eat an entire bag of Doritos by myself. How unhealthy, I know!
I completely agree since i drive after smoking all the time...but the government still believes that it intoxicates people enough to mess up their driving. Although i do have a friend who has driven high and was driving way worse than usual, but i think he was just scared...
lol, if drug weren't interfered by the Federal Govt then they would be soooo cheap that no gangs and dealers would exist. There would be no markup!
Therefore there would be no money for these people to buy guns and cause chaos. I say let the states handle it. If they legalize drugs then you'll see less crime and paradoxically less drug problems in those states!
Angleboot, do you understand economics? Legalization will eliminate the black market...this is simplesupply and demand. If it is legal, supply will be readily available, the cost will be driven down due to lowering the risk involved in selling illegal goods, and the outrages profits derived from street prices will be a memory of the past. The Marijuana drug trade will become far less profitable due to much much smaller margins and criminals will no longer pursue it in such large numbers.
it should be up to the states to decide. yeah its bad for you but so is being fat and the government doesnt put you on a deit does it. if you support angleboot you support idiocracy.
i was offered drugs numerous times in high school, but did not use them, this idea that kids are all irresponsible and cant be trusted to make good decisions is WRONG
He is not arguing to legalize all drugs. He wants States to decide rather than Federal. But he does seem to be for legalizing marijuana, but he wants states to decide. And Legalizing marijuana will lower crime related to marijuana. Usually the only crime related to marijuana is that marijuana is illegal.
So remove the criminals from the very profitable buisness of pot dealing. This would put the lawful buisnessman in place of the unlawful one. He could do buisness above ground and have legitimate profits, he could sue for redress instead of having to commit violence to gain the return of his property. A legitimate buisnessman would not shoot his customers. How many acts of violence do the coffeeshop owners in Amsterdam commit? None. The ILLEGAL market is the problem. LEGALIZE and REGULATE!
Now put yourself in the shoes of the criminals. Making millions. will make pot legal in the USA stop you. no you'll just keep selling illegal pot as well as move on into the USA all to gather.
I know I would. To help make sure my pot is sold over potshops. I'll make sure one burns to the ground aday. The crime will go up.
Also, the legality itself will drop the price by 90%. Unless The Government tries to regulate it to the point that only a few select companies can grow it and sell it. In that case the government somply takes oave the monopoly over the criminals. But if they do the right thing and just decriminalize it, the profits go out the window so there's no incentive to extort protection of legal business.
Bullcrap. if the government has anything do with it as in taxs. The taxs alone will be higher than what people are paying for it now.
Companies may grow it, but so will everyone that can get their hands on a pack of seeds. so why pay for prety packages and some camal that smokes pot. when you can buy it tax free from the guy next door or grow your own.
That's my point. Anyone with land will grow it. The price drops way down. It creates millions of jobs for people growing it don't need one anymore and sell it to people that don't or can't grow it. But your talking out of both sides of your mouth here. You first say that prices will be high because either criminals will force shops to buy from them or government will tax the crap out of it so the price will be high. And then you say that the guy next door could sell it cheaply. Which is it?
Now for your lies about the countries in europe that made it legal. You don't really keep up do you. Their crime in illegal pot and drugs is through the roof. Now with the open borders they is dealers from all parts of europe flocking into Amsterdam just to sell their pot and drugs. And has been an on going problem for some time now.
You are ignorant to the fact in Amsterdam growing marijuana is illegal (in the sense that you can't just grow pot, private companies cannot just grow pot to sell) People can sell, buy, and use marijuana but they do it off the black market. Coffee shops get marijuana from the black market. THat is the flaw of the Amsterdam system.
Our system would alleviate this problem as Drugs will be LEGAL. AS IN ANYONE CAN GROW A PLANT, OR A PRIVATE COMPANY CAN.Thus no drug related crime. U don't keep up dou
Oh but you was the dumb ass to bring up tax it. You can't tax something everyone is growing at home. Only the companies. No company is willing to put all the money up for a product 95% of the pot smokers will grow on their own.
What the hell is wrong with you, the pot screw you up that bad?

If we look at marijuana in any coherent manner, the same analysis & standards should be provided to Liquor & Tobacco stores.
Liquor and Tobacco, today, cause more damage to society than has marijuana.
Adults only and a 2 or 3 strikes and your out clause if you abuse any of the aforementioned drugs / medicines / and or indulgences.
Why can't the USA have coherent laws?

Once again, the be all end all argument from the opposing side brings up the kids and how they will become "addicts" or it will some how be easier for them to get.
Ron Paul fucking owned that dude with facts, not propaganda.
All victimless crimes should be legal.
The other parallel of prohibition is gangsters benefiting from it and using violence and fear through a black market.
Legalize it and the people or states can regulate it themselves to make it safe.

Try thinking for once instead of using labels and resorting to childish name calling. He's talking about how government needs to stop telling us how to think and act. I agree!

Marijuana needs to be legal unquestionably.

Panpiper 2 years ago
Notice dopeheads, he didnt say legalize drugs, he said its a state regulation issue. In my state, we would never vote to universally legalize all forms of drugs, including smoking pot in public, which wouldnt change your predicament much, so dont get your hopes up.

the government wouldn't really be able to regulate it. you can't really grow your own tobacco or make your own beer but marijuana really is a weed and grows anywhere. so regulation is a joke. unless you had to buy a license to grow it. like a driver's license and every year an inspector would come check out your grow op. and renew your license just like on your car. i'd pay 100 dollars or even 2 a year to be able to grow pot. have different types of licenses for how much you grow or if you sell

Teenagers like to rebel!
drewd1987 2 years ago
The DEA guy going against legalization is totally wrong. marijuana and drugs are everywhere the kids will get it if the want. they have the perfect place to score its called school.
I also agree no way is marijuana a gateway drug i smoke pot everyday for the past 10 years or more...I have never tried a hard drug or never will. Only a weak minded person would use the gateway drug excuse.

This is such a stupid argument full of bullshit "studies".

soldatna 2 years ago
Whether or not pot is good for kids is not the issue really. If they shouldn't have it then make it illegal for them to have it. Adults, on the other hand, are allowed to do what they please with their bodies. Let them smoke pot. Seriously, this "war" is stupid and a big waste of money.
kommisar 2 years ago 4
I don't recall pot being legal in Alaska....
No one is saying pot is good and kids should smoke it. The point is making it illegal won't stop them from getting it and using it. Legalizing it would solve many of the drug problems, and legalizing all drugs would solve most of the drug problems.

How would that discredit him? Most journalists and even most CNN viewers would agree with his position. The libertarian (AND liberal) position has broad support.

Since 1937 there has been a huge drug revolution in the 1960s that Rock and Roll has never allowed to dissipate. Ron Paul's comparing Apples to Oranges there.
I didn't know that he wants not to legalize all drugs, but move the responsibility of prosecution to the individual states. I'll definitely need to look in to what would happen in that case before I comment further on Ron Paul and the drug wars.
leodamascus 2 years ago
The jailing of people for it is ridiculous.

LEGALIZE and REGULATE!
n8kas2 2 years ago
Now put yourself in the shoes of the criminals. Making millions. will make pot legal in the USA stop you. no you'll just keep selling illegal pot as well as move on into the USA all to gather.
I know I would. To help make sure my pot is sold over potshops. I'll make sure one burns to the ground aday. The crime will go up.
ANGLEBOOT 2 years ago
So I guess all the criminals would have to go to everybodies house as well because anyone with a patch of usable land will have a nice little garden.
mickeysears 2 years ago
Also, the legality itself will drop the price by 90%. Unless The Government tries to regulate it to the point that only a few select companies can grow it and sell it. In that case the government somply takes oave the monopoly over the criminals. But if they do the right thing and just decriminalize it, the profits go out the window so there's no incentive to extort protection of legal business.
mickeysears 2 years ago
Bullcrap. if the government has anything do with it as in taxs. The taxs alone will be higher than what people are paying for it now.
Companies may grow it, but so will everyone that can get their hands on a pack of seeds. so why pay for prety packages and some camal that smokes pot. when you can buy it tax free from the guy next door or grow your own.
ANGLEBOOT 2 years ago
That's my point. Anyone with land will grow it. The price drops way down. It creates millions of jobs for people growing it don't need one anymore and sell it to people that don't or can't grow it. But your talking out of both sides of your mouth here. You first say that prices will be high because either criminals will force shops to buy from them or government will tax the crap out of it so the price will be high. And then you say that the guy next door could sell it cheaply. Which is it?
mickeysears 2 years ago
Now for your lies about the countries in europe that made it legal. You don't really keep up do you. Their crime in illegal pot and drugs is through the roof. Now with the open borders they is dealers from all parts of europe flocking into Amsterdam just to sell their pot and drugs. And has been an on going problem for some time now.
Go, go lookit up. You do know how to use Google?
ANGLEBOOT 2 years ago
You are ignorant to the fact in Amsterdam growing marijuana is illegal (in the sense that you can't just grow pot, private companies cannot just grow pot to sell) People can sell, buy, and use marijuana but they do it off the black market. Coffee shops get marijuana from the black market. THat is the flaw of the Amsterdam system.
Our system would alleviate this problem as Drugs will be LEGAL. AS IN ANYONE CAN GROW A PLANT, OR A PRIVATE COMPANY CAN.Thus no drug related crime. U don't keep up dou
bobvilla11 2 years ago
Oh but you was the dumb ass to bring up tax it. You can't tax something everyone is growing at home. Only the companies. No company is willing to put all the money up for a product 95% of the pot smokers will grow on their own.
