I am very certain that no one in the world believes IN God, they believe in people who told them about that thing God and the old books. to say that I believe in God it means I personally met him or communicate with him directly or know him! but since it's not the case that no one saw or communicate directly with that thing called God, then you cannot say I believe in God but you can say I believe in people in the Scriptures that talk about that God!
