This is one of my favorite movies. Sure, she's a little girl. But size doesn't matter in a fight. Obviously these dudes weren't very well trained and underestimated Hanna because she looked like a sweet little girl. All the more reason the movie rocks.

Well it's pretty impossible to "look" like you're beating someone up pretty bad without actually doing it for real, isn't it? I think everyone should stop trying to be an expert and take movies for what they are: they're stories.

This movie does NOT do a good job of convincing me this girl is actually a lethal opponent. You can ALMOST get away with that shake cam and quick cutting bullshit in a Jason Bourne movie and fool us into thinking that Matt Damon isn't a total wanker. The tactic falls pretty flat on its face though when you're dealing with smallish teenage girls.Kate Beckinsale wearing tight leather and firing guns with infinite ammo was more convincing.

@oldirrtydoogz I agree with you that that was the intent of the movie, but it is unconvincing, imho, especially since Hanna wasn't bitten by a radioactive spider, fused with adamantium or some other thing that would actually give her super strength. As it is, she looks like exactly what she is, a little girl randomly whaling around.

The scenes are well directed, but with just a bit experience in hand-to-hand combat, they are quite easy to see through. They use the usual, slithly buckled straight hits, easy to block and counter, together with a few straight kicks and a bit of Aikido-disarming moves. Don`t get me wrong: It is still outstanding choreographed and directed, but it IS just show and shows in now way how to survive in a real street fight. Real fights are ugly scuffles without any coolness. Just my 2 cents.

It is a film detailing a plot and directed for cinema. It is not intended to be an instruction manual for those watching on "how to survive in a real street fight" as you phrase it. I think you might have approached this artwork from a somewhat misguided position.

@LeutholdJR That's pretty cool you know that stuff, but, and this is just my opinion, this particular fighting scene was done very well. I've seen fighting scenes that rely entirely on sketchy, nauseating camera work, and this one is smooth and really awesome looking. It's straight up, looks real to someone like me who isn't really smart when it comes to the authenticity of fighting moves
