  • sickbikeparts

  • For ever one who are looking for the jackshaft kit sales at $214...+S&H

  • THIS IS THE REAL DEAL EBIKE: /watch?v=7g8BRyLaQgg

  • Sick bike parts not sick bikes.. but nice vid.

  • haha did anyone else see the guy on the bike trying to peddle up the hill at 2:25

  • how could you stop in the trafic light with clutch?

  • i cant find the jackshaft kit. would you post a link to the site you used? I love that you made the gears work for you! i had thought of using a shimano 8 speed hub to do the same thing (in principle) as you. I just don't know if it would work and haven't seen such documented. Keep up the good work!

  • and how much this cost you ?

  • how much cc you have ? And can it goes more than 36mph on flat ?

  • you are 4 stroking a ton. it's running too rich. nice build tho! try sick bike parts expansion chamber, it's awesome! tons more power

  • Молодец. Вещь хорошая вышла.

  • Very nice job, motor sounds tight, well done!!

  • a 4 stroke would be better

  • I like the gear shifting ability. One day man will develope a 4stroke bicycle motor with a similar

gear shifting ability. Then maybe they will show it on Youtube. It's still just beyond our reach.

  • put a mini intercooler in the front with a mini turbo and BOV :)

  • Well you didn't Get get back. If you build a bike with a shift kit on it from sick bike parts you will also. Need a black or chrome molly quick release back rim

  • looks like tiffan ohio!?

  • what website did you get the Jackshaft Kit?

  • Can that bike still be pedaled with the engine off? I would like to build one but have it be manual if I choose

  • @bellyflop55 yes it can

  • is everything pretty?

  • Were im from there just as nice just as good for 380

  • where did find the one way main crank

  • cool :)

  • Watt kind of back rim is on that bike . keep busting mine have shift kit with a raw motor

  • I'd like to build something like that but would like to use the Honda GX50 motor

  • He must have put a really big stick in his spokes X)

  • carb back fire = no more hairy bum

  • how is that 2 stroke motor....dont you think a 4 stroke would be better?

  • How far does it go on one tank of gas?

  • imagine this guy going down the road on a mountain bike that sounds like a dirt bike XD

  • Couple of years back I tried to put a motor on a bike and I wanted to use the gears. My drive to work is 20 miles one way with some hills. I see now this is what I need to get. Thanks for making this video.

  • i would buy that from you how much you want?

  • thats fuckin sick!

  • I've heard that grubee motors have all sorts of problems and I'm trying to buy an american motor but can't find a supplier do you have any pointers for me I would love to talk to you over the phone I live in southern california you seem to know what your talking about is this okay

  • is this legal on the sidewalks n stuff

  • @ryanathan2 yup

  • He said jackshaft, ROFL!

  • What kind of derailleur is that?

  • Question, I built the same bike you have there but using a schwinn 7 speed cruiser. Im having a issue when I shift into higher gears the chain tensioner I believe isnt stiff enoughand my chain goes clang clang.. But only in the higher gears. Im only able to use 3 gears other wise. Any suggestions. The bike is brand new....

  • Pretty slick huh? Pretty sh-weet huh?

  • @ssuperskills just about to comment that lol

  • Outstanding. I want one so bad.

  • except a city street..

  • Nice way to solve shift speed using simple engine.

I'll to do the same. Thank You for idea!!!

    My Best Wishes!!!

  • You sir, are a genius.

  • That engine needs setting jobs

  • @cameramonkey2 but its rare a cop will be able to determine the exact CC of an engine there tiny so you could pass with by saying its a 49. also it doesnt mater how many CCs any motor asisted bike is a motorized bicycle and if your in cali and alot of other states legally you still need a registered plate ($19) and a M1 or M2 license to ride one if its max speed is 30mph has 2 wheels can be pedaled by human propulsion, so yea but not lot of cops know so you can get away with out those things

  • I wanted to know... if you put an engine and this jackshaft kit just like you did.. can You use the Bicycle has a normal bike has well...???? like imagine you have no more gas or you just don't want to use gas for the day or something can you just use your bike ???

  • @JMacSp yes you cant still pedal it like a bike, i have the same setup as this person in the video, also with the jackshaft/shift kit you will have less resistance when costing as apposed to the standard sprocket attatched to the wheel setup

  • @NikkoFiT Ohh Nice then... Yeah Cuz I was thinking of putting a disk break and this way I could.... the thing is that I'm a total newbie to this thing... and he's using that ch80 Engine.. But i don't think they sell it anymore... what kind of engine Could I get.. could you put me in the right track or maybe something better...Thx..

  • @JMacSpthere 49,66,80cc all the same dont be fooled. and most engine kits or engines alone are the same thing, there all made in china so yea, i paid 160 for my kit which came with everything i needed all i needed was to put it on a bike. but i picked it up, its like 180 shipped even to CA, type in "discount bike engines" on google. and you really only need a disc brake up front almost 90% of your stopping power comes from the front

  • @NikkoFiT Thanks alot for the Info... but one thing I'm not crazy about is the damn Shifter Kit it's a lot of Money... for what it is.... or would you know a place that sells it cheaper cuz 180 to 200$ for that kit is ridiculous to me....

  • @JMacSp yea its really pricey actually, thats why i waited to buy it untill i had a nicer bike. if your just planning on motorizing a bike to just mess around and ride around on the weekends i wouldnt bother, i use mine as a daily driver and i felt it neccessary, (100 miles a week). its a whole lotta fun shifting too, and im glad i have it, but if you dont have the funds i would try and save because it is 10x more fun then the singlespeed. plus you now have acceleration and top speed.

  • god dam fucking loud

  • Could you tell me where to buy this jack shft kit? I want to build an electric bike with this kit, using an electric motor. Gas motor is too noisy for where I live.

  • nice, i love the vented disc brakes yu got, i have them on my moped mountain bike, with brembo covers on the brake caliper . i dont have shift kit for my bike but it reaches 43mph so i dont feel like shifting just brut power!

  • NICE BIKE

  • Wear a helmet stupid!!

  • harf a mile

  • i can pedel faster than that

  • @alex38057 but for how long?

  • This is amazing! I love it!

  • Love this, how does it work with slowing down though surely you must be burning your brakes, out unless you got a neutral gear or drive disengage mechanism. Clever though.

  • @Azureecosse its called a centrifugal clutch!!

  • I make mine

    jimstar.sportblog.fr/885493/VELO-MOTEUR-Velo-a-moteur-thermique/

  • I think those are illegal to ride (on the road) in our state.

  • I want one!!

  • ...Beautiful! ...and really clean! What's the tallest gear it'll pull and do you find yourself going through the gears in normal driving? ...again, very sanitary!

  • I won't to make on really bad I got all the parts beside a motor:(

  • Do you know the gas milage on this?

  • @codeman4416 120-150 miles per gallon roughly

  • how would my bike run with out the shift kit?

  • very cool

  • I've got one of these with a 70cc motor on it and I've had soooo much enjoyment from it. The problem is, it is only a matter of time that a miserable pissed of cop who didn't get laid by his girlfriend the previous night will see this bike and give me a misdemeanor.

  • theres no perpose in gettin that if it makes u go 36 mines got the stoke sprocket n goes 30

  • @ohcanadaman1 the point of the jackshaft kit isnt for high speeds. its for more torque and better acceleration he can take his bike up a steep hill with out slowing down. hell if anything u probably wouldnt even make it half way up without the jackshaft:D

  • @smoke8900 but ive got a custom piston n clutch so i can slip the clutch but yea i can see the point of the jackshaft but i can get up alot n its a 28 inch wheel

  • How many school busses do you think you can jump with that thing?

  • I reallly like your bike and I just bought a 66cc Sky Hawk motor kit (China) online. What's your opinion on those? What motor do you like the best? Thanks.

  • nutter

  • what does the jack shaft do?

  • Is engine braking(downshifting) possible with this?

  • @pyro7407 yeah ive had one and i didnt have brakes hooked up so i would just use engine drag to slow down and my feet, it works pretty good. but.... i wouldnt do it on busy roads, u may need to stop pretty quick in case of an emergency

  • SICK

  • @psychedeligoat Your a deushbag

  • @jmaty23 its douchebag

  • I think it's awesome but what did u do to the pedals I see they don't turn when the sprocket spins did u have to modify that too if so how I'd like to build one too but that was the problem I ran into a pedal wouldn't feel to good in the back of the leg at 700 rpm lol

  • How fast does it go?

  • thats sick!!!!

  • @lazzer408 yea but im in england..... its farr cheaper to buy a motorbike here than to build one yourself

  • Here's a idea..... buy a motorbike!! :O wow!!

  • @Tcharley95 Walmart mountain bike $99 + Engine kit $160 + Shift kit 144.50 = $403.50 for versatility you can ride just about anywhere.

  • @lazzer408 is this legal in america ?

  • @lazzer408

    Until the police catch you....lol

  • @lazzer408 I haven't found any mountain bikes at wallmart that have a large enough space to mount the motor. There was only one with a large enough space to install a motor and it was a beach cruiser style bike. I would love to build one on a mountain bike frame because they have shocks but I have yet to find one with enough space.

  • @lazzer408 But don't forget the money you'll have to spend on the gas

  • @lazzer408 never seen a walmart selling engine kits? where do you live?

  • @Phibins Read a little closer.

  • @lazzer408 except on the road legally

  • @lazzer408 only 108 plus shiping for engine last i checked

  • @lazzer408 $800 bucks for that?, nah I'll just buy a car

  • @yourmajesty07 Cuz decent cars are $800

  • @yourmajesty07 and insurance and tags and lots of fuel.... it really wont cost anymore than 500 if you're smart about it. if you live in an urban area its awesome.

  • NASTYYY!!!!!!!

  • what schwinn bike is that

  • What exactly does the jackshaft do? Does it allow you to manually shift the gears?

  • This is so funny. A motorized bicycle.

  • @n3rdbear This is how sport bikes , bobbers , and scooters started my freind nothing is funny about this .

  • @n3rdbear what do you think a motorcycle is??

  • Outstanding! Bike of tomorrow, today. Love it!

Is it 2 cycle or 4? Maybe, I didn't watch long enough.

    Neal Brown, aka,Shaman

  • love this kit bought the shift kit for 144.00 and an 66cc motor for 129.99 and put it on a duel suspension Next Avalon 7 speed if rules. I can easily keep up with traffic and have been clocked so far at 48 mph and at a 160 mpg cant go wrong. Helps also if u buy the guards so that way your jeans wont get caught in the gears lol

  • take a look for the jackshaft: sickbikeparts com / catalog / jackshaft php

  • awesome .... looks really fun!!!

  • were you at top speed??\

  • @linkinpark18280 that was not top speed they usually go around 30 stock

  • Comment removed

  • man thats is sweet!! how much all that would cost?? why dont you sell the final creations like those on ebay of course is you can get the motors at reasonable price for a lot.

  • @gaivoron I think you can get a 48cc engine kit for around 170$. Installing it is the hard part (for me atleast).

I dont know anything about engines.

  • With the motor and jack shaft kit, do you get any balancing problems like left side heavier than right? does it feel like normal when you ride your bike?

  • Hello, i live in asia and im thinking about having my dad bring me over one these kits from the states . will the basic kit include everything i need to be able to ride? or do i need to purchase other parts besides the kit If so can please name the part and where i can buy it. also i would like to know if a boost bottle actually works? Any advice or Information is appreciated. thanks

  • @WillDaB3ast You should be able to pick up one of these engine kits where you live. All of these kits are imported from China, so you should actually be able to get them for a better price over there. I would contact some of the sellers on eBay that sell these kits and ask if you can get the manufacturers contact info. And the kits include everything you should need. As far as boost bottles are concerned, yes they do give you more power and they also smooth out your idle. Well worth the $25.

  • Where can i get one of those kits for my schwinn

  • Oh for Petes sakes, go buy a moped! The whole idea of a bicycle, is that it makes NO POLLUTION! Their environmentally friendly, and lung friendly. If you want to lessen the work input, because your too damn lazy to peddle a little bit, then use a battery operated electric motor,or,and this is just an idea..BUY A MOPED! Bicycles in and of themselves are completely silent, with the exception of changing gears. Why the hell would i want to shatter that silence with the the POP POP BANG of a motor?

  • @cndnborn ok trollboy here's the reasoning behind it: Its way cheaper than a moped and you don't have to insure it. Its not about laziness its about functionality and extending the range of mobility. I ride a bike everyday and I can say I would only use the engine for the last bit of a long trip because I'm not a machine and can't pedal forever without a rest. Hey great build, nice bike, put an exhaust on it so trollboy's ears are saved!

  • @cndnborn Most mopeds are nowhere near as fuel efficient as these bike kits. These kits also come with EPA approved mufflers with built in cats, which means that the exhaust is fairly clean. So how is this bike polluting more than a standard moped? And just so you know, those electric motor kits for bikes are $300 and they are complete crap. The batteries are fragile, they have a limited range, and they take forever to recharge.

  • @crazyfvck agreed i have a bike kit and it works great at first it does put out a little blue smoke but thats bcuz 2 break it in u have 2 use 16:1 oil mixture but there still very clean and fuel efficient

  • G'day I was thinking of getting one of these engines with the Shift Kit. Does it add to the overall performance of the bike?

  • Miles per gallon??!!!

  • @johnsucrosky Most of the kits list them as being 100-120mpg. The tanks usually only hold 1/2gallon, so figure 50-60 miles on a tank. Keep in mind that depends on how you use it, and how much you weigh.

  • @crazyfvck

Thanks. Does it matter much if I got the standard instead of the high performance carburetor? I am getting one soon ? which one do you recommend?

There are "Jet 48cc, Standard Gray Finish" and "Grubee 48cc Silver Sky Hawk Angle Fire Bicycle"

The Jet one is 50 bucks cheaper if I don't get the high performance carburetor ($155 after shipping)

  • @johnsucrosky Why go for the 48cc? I would get one of the 80cc kits (which are actually 66cc.) And to be honest I have never used a performance carb for one of these. I have to assume it would lower your fuel economy. I did hear that the slant head gives you a little more power though. That head also gives you a little more clearance because of the way the plugs sits. So I would definitely go for a kit that has that feature. Then you just need to choose which finish you want (silver or black.)

  • @crazyfvck

I heard that 48cc is the street legal size. I live in South Carolina. Can you go for 80cc if you leave the pedal on?

    I'm not too sure too

  • @crazyfvck

50 cc is what's the legal limit in the state I live in. I will be riding this on campus. So, basically I'll be seeing cops everyday. I've ordered one with the slant angle. I can't wait to put it on! Thanks for your comment

  • @johnsucrosky Good for you :) In Illinois they don't go by engine size. Here it has to be under 1hp, can't go over 20mph, and you have to be at least 16 to ride it. So all of the kits they sell on eBay are illegal here (the 66cc kit puts out 3 or 4 hp and the 48cc kit isn't far behind) Anything more and it has to registered as a motorcycle (if it can be.) However, how are they to know the hp and speed unless you tell them? As long as you don't do anything stupid they will leave you alone.

  • is that the fastest this bike goes?

  • That's awseome!

  • I WANT ONE OF THOSE!!!

  • The bike pedals are non functional correct? Looks like they are free-spinning.... if they were hooked up to the drive system, you would have to move your legs as fast as the motor is going, correct?? Most bike systems I see have the pedals as normal with the chain on the right side, and then have the motor run to the back left on an independent chain, and utilize a clutch on the motor.

  • @tlhorstick No i dont think so because the freewheel on the bike allows the pedals to remain stationary while the wheels spin, like when you ride downhill.

  • What are the legallities on these?

  • @Kawasaski65 probably the same rules as mopeds, but i dont care im riding it without a license

  • @eltotoloco69 you only need a license if your riding it in traffic

  • @Kawasaski65 Check your state. Some states view them as a bicycle so the same rules as a bicycle apply. Some view them as Mopeds so you would need a license. so check your local dmv

  • this is some cool stuff right here!!

  • Can you post videos of how to install them? That would the a cool video... plzzzzzzzzzz

  • @07Bolla no need too...buy a MOPED! Jeeeeeezz!

  • @cndnborn lol thnks

  • @cndnborn Why the hell would anyone want to buy a moped? Mopeds are for women, and they look like crap. Besides, mopeds are expensive. All you need to build one of these motorized bikes is a $150 engine kit and a crappy old bike. And if memory serves mopeds need to be licensed (and insured.) As for some of your comments down below, not everyone builds these for daily use. I do it just for fun. I still have an expensive mountain bike for doing long calorie-burning bike rides.

  • hey just wondering... did you use a tank liner coating on your gas tank to prevent rust ?

  • Pardon me, I mention to say Jackshaft!

  • The jack shift is the way to go. Being able to use your gears makes it all worth the while!

  • Nice job on the bike. That looks like ALOT of fun.

  • Goole; grubee HD rear axle kit.

Also, check out Bikemans vid on the Split kickstand, very cool item for MB's

  • top job looks great

  • ok. your bike has to go faster then 36. mine is 100% stock and i hit 35 flat ground

  • Nope. Making it so there are shiftable gears makes it illegal to ride in my, and most states. Under 50cc, no more then 2hp (and honest ossifer it is) can't go over 30mph and Single Speed.

Forget this thing, get an HD direct drive rear hub.

  • Nice...........lol.

  • i want one, how much are you trying to sell one for?

  • is there a clutch?

  • how fast does it go and how many miles per gallon?

  • @djsanchez1990 ive heard that most of that kind of motor go about 35mph and get close to 200mpg

  • Sold

  • Nice setup! I am thinking about doing the same thing w a jackshaft from SBP, the same one you using. I asked a guy at a gas bike store here in southern Cali and he sayes jackshafts are not worth the time or money and he doesnt even work with them. Something about to much stress on the derailer? So how has it held up, any sugestions? thanks

  • My eyes told me. Even if you're careful, moving gearing can 'unexpectedly by accident' catch dangling things like a shoelace, scarf, corner of flapping clothing such as pants, or your fingers. Cycling is my normal transport (including countless various freight loads - see vid on Cheapest, strongest bike trailer). Loose things have caught in the hub sometimes, and once the deraileur, wrecking it. The 2-clattering stroke noise will deafen you 'same as I became deafened too.

  • Beautiful work - you have a right to be proud of that. But for me it's too dangerous, that exposed gearing and chain, and too noisy! Next models: (a) chain guarding to prevent tangling of clothing etc. or fingers being chomped (b) nice quiet muffler to delay the day when the cops tell the authorities to class it as a motorbike. Cheers, Bruce Thomson in New Zealand

  • @PalmyBruce Who told you it was too dangerous ?

  • Did using the bike gears increase your top speed at all?

  • I like that you're able to shift through the gears

    Very cool

  • Hey i was wondering does any body know wat is the fuel/oil ratio for these 2 stroke engines

  • @stemmieboy according to the manual of this engine 80cc (68.5cc real) Mixing Ration for Fuel and Oil : 16:1 for break period (first 300 miles) and then 25:1 after 300 miles.

  • it's the lazy mans exercise

  • @Killinemdead1 TTttthhhank- yoouuu!!

  • Nice, you can hear the gears shift on that thing.

  • if i have this thing it would be like, hey where are you going ? to the mall with my bycicle
