  • There's a guy smoking pot in the movie.....Cool!

  • at 1:01 what was that niose?

  • MNRRConductor2006 Why is it coming from Pittsburgh If it was coming from New York it wouldn't be coming from that direction

  • That's an ex Southern Railway SW1500....a long way from its former home given that this train is on ex Pennsylvania RR rails.

  • Fantastic !!!!!

  • Kool catch, love the lil NS engine aftr the MTA.

    HSC is heaven.

Ya neva know what u'll see.

  • Ah thats Metro North, not the MTA, I think

  • It is seen here heading to Juniata Shop in Altoona for complete overhaul plus a new paint job. My emplyer is sending all P32AC-DMs on our roster here to Juniata for the overhaul and paint. Look to see more of this as they all eventually head there and get the work done

  • @MNRRConductor2006 that's because NS does quality rebuild work at Juniata.

  • That unit is not a P42, but actually an MTA Metro-North Railroad (NY, NY) GE P32AC-DM (AC traction, dual-mode diesel/750v third rail electric) locomotive owned by my employer, and it is destined for Altoona for overhaul and a new paintjob ata the Juniata Shop

  • amtrak working with the big boys now. never seen that before.

  • i think i mighta been there that day, not sure.

  • what the hell is a P42 unit doing in the lashup ?:)

  • Actually that is one my employer's (MTA Metro-North Railroad, New York, NY) GE P32AC-DM (AC traction, dual mode diesel/third rail 750V third rail electric) engines, going to Altoona for overhaul and a new "Amtrak Copycat" paintjob. The video was kinda grainy, but it either looked like #219 or 210.

  • They send them out for repair

  • Love it But miss the Pennsy.Rode the Three Rivers and could not see the curve cause it was late at night From Philly to Pit. From West Virgina

  • I live in Altoona and I love to go up there.

  • hahaha, its called the NS 10N, the eastbound from Conway with the most random friggin units. I've NEVER seen a 10N lookin like this though

  • Great catch. MTA, & a lil engine :)

  • the train with most conrails wins ^.^

  • ok how the hell did a metro north p42 end up with freight? lol jk awkward consist!

  • well its a rail yard that tthe pennsyvannia rail road built to either go around a lake or go over the lake a a bridge the around method won. hope this helps out.

  • weird there being a p42 and a switcher in the same manifest! great vid

  • Nice catch you got, they must have been moving the last 2 units.

  • WOW a P32 Dual Mode engine.

  • Here is some info I hope it helps.

Enjoy your visit to the USA....

    Horseshoe Curve Visitor Center

    (814) 941-2540 - 419 Wharton Ave, Altoona, PA

  • well thats odd a metro north on a fright train

  • @scoof67 It's probabilly being delivered.

  • @scoof67 Its in delivery

  • Thats NS Train C36 - aka: The "Milk Run." It brings locomotives from Conway to Altoona and sets them off at Rose Yard along with regular freight. The first 3 units were bound for the Juniata Locomotive Shop. C36 also brings locomotives that have been serviced from Altoona to Enola, and its coutnerpart does the vice versa.

  • on the right place at the right time, but want an advice? You were too much in a hurry to zoom in and out and to point the camera. This ain't no Die Hard movie, smooth and slow movements work better with trains!! Best Regards.

  • Good catch on the consist.

  • Nice Catch!
