GTX 460 version 768 is much worse than 1024 version.

@AveShatan666PL No it's not. You only need the 1024mb and higher bit if you're playing on high resolution or using SLI setup otherwise it's only about 6% increase in performance.

@samer258 Most likely the driver you're using with the GTX 460 is causing the problem. Try doing a complete uninstall of all Nvidia drivers and then try the newest version. If still no change then try older versions. I also recommend doing a complete system recovery just to rule out any system corrupted files. I'm also curious as to what OS you are using at the moment and what is your motherboard chipset?

@blisterkill That is unusual...only 25-35 fps with a 470. What MOBO do you have? I'm planning on building my own PC (already bought a 430 elite case) with a 600 budget and since it's November I think this is the best time of the year to buy my parts. I was aiming for an overclocked GTX 460 768mb and the amd phenom ii x 4 940 3.0ghz quad core processor since it's only 96 USD—and there are motherboards that support am2+ and am3 at the same time allowing me to use ddr3 1333 or 1600 ram.

@blisterkill Now that you say you have a 470 with a better cpu than what im planning on purchasing and only get 20-35 fps I am a bit tentative on whether the parts I chose are the right combination for good performance I am hoping to receive from them. I saw several videos of other users showing 50+ fps with the same video card and cpu as you except theirs is overclocked to 3.6ghz per.

@blisterkill Unless you lack ventilation you should consider overclocking your cpu using some tools such as AMD Overdrive. Also, have you tried all the drivers available for your card to see if there is any significant change in fps? How much ram do you have and are you using the physx feature with another video card?

gtx 465 is better than the 460 and much more powerfull.

@manolo3m no the 465 is not much more powerful. In some games it is slower than the 460. The 460 runs cooler and it has the best price/performance ratio of any video card on the market at the moment.
