  • What type of solenoids did you use? Are they low voltage ones?

  • lol

  • reduzent!!

    I say reduzent!!

    IS AWESOME!!!!!

    AWESOME!!!!!!

    [and an 'eye wink']

  • Mozart must be turning in his grave!

    Nice project.

  • The person who did this is awesome.

  • what brand of solenoid are you using

  • 64 people cannot keep the rhythm

  • Brilliant.

  • I want to make one for myself

would you tell me how much power require to drive these solenoid?

recently I made a coil gun prototype, but I'm still a newbie in making coil or electromagnet...

  • @angel91250

    thx for reply

  • Arduino FTW!

  • 64 people are neighbors of this guy...

  • @manoftnuva and there all deaf

  • i have three i got from an old ricoh nc5006 that i dismantled! (its a large copier)

  • thats pretty much one of the coolest things ive seen... i have replaced tons of those in copiers but never saw them do that b4 !! very nice

  • put it in a museum. need that copied over the states asap.

  • please let me know where did you get those solenoids

  • hi please tell me where did you get those solenoids.....!!!

  • I got some! Google Greenweld, and they sell a pack of 10 for around £20, the springs don't come fitted, just need to to get some screw now!

  • how can this have dislikes?

  • This deserves more views...

  • Anybody know where I can get these solenoid from? I am looking to do the same thing with PD and Arduino.

  • @zeelasonitus try ebay

  • fortissimo

  • awesome!

  • So cool -- I'd love to see something like this on a really large scale, like different little solenoids tapping on stuff all throughout an aircraft hangar or hardware store.

  • what is the name of the software?

  • @fshahin90 Puredata

  • That is really cool,I like how you increased the freq

  • I don't understand why anyone gave this a thumbs down.

  • fantástico ritmo

  • wow

  • nice xD

  • your neighbors must HATE you!

    Awesome vid!

  • where did you get all of those and what is the program you used to program these? im dying to use these as a science fair project

  • Great work! Im working in a very different kind of solenoid concert so it was very inetresting bumping into your video.

    kudos

  • turn the shuffle up, let's hear those things swing

  • Awesome. This sounds like something I would do.

  • i love it, you built the software? what hardware are you using to interface with the solenoids? ahhh just saw the arduino i was thinking to myself how i'd go about doing it on an arduino. How did you construct the GUI, i could use labview but i'd like something that could stand alone in linux; which is what it looks like you have done. many thanks

  • @bradder555 It's Max/MSP

  • @JBLanteigne cool thanks for the reply

  • in soviet russia, you disappear for this.

  • Comment removed

  • ... *AWE* NOW Hook it up to a guitar, piano and xylophone!

  • Respect

  • that is so great!

    nice job man

  • Neat! ^^

  • nice

  • @smartieoncomputer Free time has nothing to do with it., because the learning process is probably far more valuable than the time he used!

  • Nicely done, sir!

  • where you buy solenoid? and what is the price

  • please tell me what soft or program do you use?

  • arduinos. those things are insane

  • and cheap as shit.

  • Brilliant!

  • very inspiring! 5 stars

  • Simply awesome!!!!

  • LMAO that's awesome.

  • that was awsome i guess someone has a little too much time

  • Utterly brilliant.

  • hehehehehhe well done

  • nice

  • where did you bought the solenoids, these ones are beautifull solenoids perfect for prototyping and music making ofcourse !

5 stars from me and many views!!

  • Your neighbours have to love you.

  • Hah! Epic! Now I'm tempted to try to cook up something similar... *Neighbor knocks on door - and finds himself joining the rythm.

  • great stuff! is the circuit diagram online anywhere?

  • PIMP

  • thats badass

  • Really cool!

I'm just glad I'm not your neighbour. :-)

  • Where did you order these solenoids from?

  • You invented the breakfast machine, didn't you?

  • wow

  • he was tapping the place for bugs. lol

  • cool! thumbs up!

  • How long did it take you to set this up?

  • Genius!

  • Coolest thing I've EVER seen!

  • You're crazy ;), Brilliant work, Gratz

  • I like many other am interested in where you got the solenoids. Most electronic shops don't sell those. Can you tell me the brand and model number (number)?

  • @eagle112800

get some really thin insulated wire (probably the kind that is coated with transparent plastic)

find some plastic cylinder, attach it to a drill

using the drill make a coil with as many turns as you want, cut the wire glue the coil in place

find a round piece of steel or iron that fit somewhat snuggly inside the plastic cylinder, cap one end of the cylinder, insert a spring inside the cylinder add the round piece in the cylinder and you're done mostly

  • @eagle112800 i agree. where is a good, cheap place to get these

  • Brilliant!

  • Brilliant!

    Cant stop the music!

  • hahaha the central heatin pipes hahahahaahah

  • uncuncunc

  • Your neighbours must be wondering what the fuck is going in in your appartment ^^hahah

  • Awesome. Very, very cool.

  • thats pretty tight

  • what are you using the relays for? I've done some controlling of rotary solenoids to play a snare drum and I've never used a relay, just transistors to let the 18v flow when the arduino sends the signal. What job do the relays do for you?

  • most likely they are used to switch low current to a high current source for the solenoids.

  • wow...very nice

  • duct tape!!!!!

    Thats so jank

    love the vid tho

  • I counted 10

  • awesome!

  • LOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • HAHAHA THAT SHIT WAS A TRIP!!

  • you are amazing

  • AWESOME

  • sweet

  • lol

  • i like how you designed it so you can change the tempo on the fly

  • sound and looks cool , nice hobby btw , Its always nice to watch some somethin creative , keep it up [=

  • awesome. your neighbors must hate you.

  • that is probably one of the coolest things I have ever seen.

  • really good work

  • lol, AWESOME!!

At first I was like... 'two? how is he going to make music?'

but you did it! heh heh

  • cool!!!

  • Very cool! Nice to see someone still uses their brain!

  • 1 word: EPIC

  • Play that funky music White boy

...........Play That funky music till you die !

I like the lamp and the square post best.

Hey they have a good sound !

  • A Master !

You must understand music as well as PLC Software and electrical !

It looks like some of the stuff on your computer is in German ?

Get the hell out of there and come to America !

We need all the of the best here !

  • Very good my son very good. Makes a nice change from a chain reaction. Might make one of them in my shed;)

  • Neighbours voice: WHAT THE HELL IS THAT NOISE!

No seriously that's cool and creative.

  • Interesting AND catchy! :)

  • What a way to test out your solenoids

  • The best ones are on the pipes!!! Nice!

  • fun =)

  • This is awesome!

  • that would be sweet if a thunderbolt 1003 could do that with its solenoids :D great vid

  • ok but you lost me with the window shots like i was going to see somthing

  • The solenoid was banging against the glass, did you miss it?

  • Your neighbors must love you :P But that was amazing!

  • This is f### Hilarious

  • Woooooow~ c'est génial~~

  • dlamnie bardzo orginalny pomysł brawo

  • I certainly admire the technical side of this setup as surely am amazed by its musical outcome...

If I knew how to build such a relay interface (and you don't seem to be eager to share the details...) I would try and build a glochenspiele or a tubular bells organ. Then I would drive the system through a keyboard and play and play and play.

Lovely way to spend your sparetime ! Keep on tapping, blood !

  • A glockenspiel would be SOOOOOO awesome.

It would be interesting if you manage to build one and then share your music in youtube :D

I wish you luck building it ;)

  • Awesome....thanks for the laugh! Just the kind of thing I would do! Bravo.

  • Dude!...I'm impressed!

  • bravo, félicitation.

    Very great.

  • Eso es un consierto de verdad... esta muy bien realizado y muy sincronizado

  • wtf!!

  • Dude, that was awesome! Thanks!

  • Ubuntu? :)

  • Classic Video, thanks.

  • JUST AMAZING!

  • wow! great concert!

  • Im glad i am not his neighbor all that noise would soon piss me off good work tho :)

  • one word...WONDERFUL

  • John Cage would be proud. Interesting stuff!

  • Is it just me, or are the last ten seconds kind of rushed? :-)

Seriously though, this vid rocks. I'm loving the tech AND the rhythm. Kudos!

  • That's because he's raising the BPM, as you can clearly see in the video.

Very cool indeed. Wish I knew more about electronics.

  • Amazing. The beginning was iffy to me, but 30seconds in, I was very impressed. Quite an achievement. hehe

  • InCREDible!! Creative genius! Kudos! Do more like this please!

  • boredom at its best right there!

  • fuck off spammer!!

  • fucking mind blowing. there is only one thing left to do in this case -someone should BANG with the rhyme and let the REAL solenoid operate

  • That's really cool.

  • very cool!

  • lolllll

  • Wow.. that was pretty cool. How long did it take to set up your Board for that kinda thing? What made you do such a thing anyway XD

  • very nice :)

    the really tech music...

  • Wonderful thing!! 5***** + fav

  • Great Beat GOOD JOB , think about it you could be in LAS VEGAS making a Hi-tech Beat SHOW

  • I picture the CEO dropping by the company Systems Analyst's office and finding this!

  • great. Music for the community. Yeah your neighbours must be tolerant at all. Great idea, rocks much more then the guy who does the same at church walls and floors. this is the way homerecording should go.

  • great work...(your neighbours must love it,specialy the beating on the pipes...lol).

  • I want that software. did you make it on your own?

  • very creative idea.

you are doing simple things , amazing..

  • hi this is your neighbor downstaires. can you please keep it down. i keep ans the door everytime i hear the knocking on the water pipes.....lol

    j/k nice job

  • eh Darkballbags its almost as creative & entertaining as your atroshish steve irwin accent

  • WOW! That was amazing!!! I found myself be-bopping along with the beat!

  • fucken terrible, give up

  • you're just pissed because you are not as creative. it is you who shall "give it up". lol
