@blackarrowrock I'm sorry man, I have no idea what you're referring to! Please be more clear in what you're asking and I'll be more than happy to explain..
this video opened my eyes playing a bass drum with one pedal is like playing your set with one stick. sure you can do it but you limit your creativity. Thank you for making this video. Before i saw this i thought double pedals were usesless
Do you find having a double pedal setup is better than having two separate bass drums for overall feel? I have an electric kit and use two kd120 bass triggers and two separate pedals, I just wonder if doing a double pedal like you would develop my feet more...
How could anyone have the heart to dislike this? think of the effort this guy has put in to getting his feet this good! You probably have no idea nor care fucking tits
Me gusto ..., siempre me llamo la atención la bateria y se que hay que tener estilo y hiperactividad y sobre todo excelente reflejos para tocarla bateria.
Wow, impressive control and technique! Sadly, 7 people are (highly) envious of your skills, haha (or don't have a clue of what's going on). Your video is packed with ideas which take months to work on - thank you for your time and this great video, serving as inspiration. 16th notes at that tempo is a piece of cake for me (drum beginner, 1 year, I practice doublebass a lot), but playing bursts/combined patterns or transitions in general is way more challenging. Back to square one...
Pleas let me know how you have your spring tension and foot board height. You are phenomenal at this. I am "OK." lol. I work at it a lot. Truth is, I do not use it a lot in my playing but I still want to get better at it. You are the best I have seen. You are in complete control of the heel toe technique, even during a beat. Awsome!
@jordanjcm I tried to write a message to tell you what I do but you only accept messages from friends.. UGHH!! There's not enough characters in these comment fields for me to answer your question..
I've played 20 years and envy you, Ruckusamukus.. :O) I have a left handed DW double kick.. I couldn't afford the whole set up, so I bought the set up without the left pedal, and added the DW2000, I'd played on single bass for years. One is belt, and one is chain.. ;o) It took forever to get the tension on both pedals just right.. I believe this is a prerequisite to becoming fast and accurate. Ruckas, you rock, buddy! Cheers!!
honestly ive been playing for like 4 years and if you can get fast to where you want it then thats your speed i tried to push myself and i ended up breaking my head. Not to be mean or anything but all your dooing is playin the same thing and if you want to go really fast then you need a tama iron cober twin glide the tension on it is so loose its amazing.
@175huskey Trolling can be pretty funny, but its generally not funny when idiots try to do it. If you are not trolling, then you are even more of a moron than I currently assume.
@175huskey What the hell. are you retarded? You can play just as quickly with Eliminator pedals. The only thing that could be faster than any of the typical chain and belt drives would be direct drive pedals like axis or flying dragons.
crazy question, but im handicapped so i cant move my foot up and down for the "heel-toe" method or whatever. any way i can practice to build up speed that would compensate for the lack of movement?
I have a DW 4000 double pedal. What would be the best exercise to use when trying to learn the heel toe technique? I have jared falk's bass drum secrets dvd and understand how it works. Also, i get lots of small rebound on my kick drum when doing double bass. How can i fix that? thanks! you are amazing!!!!!!!
Seriously though, good stuff. I just wish I could get my limbs to act independantly of each other instead of my right leg/right arm both trying to play at the same g*d damned time :P
On the super fast doubles I notice that the ball of your foot seems to be coming up yes no? Where are you getting the bounce with the heel down? Amazing! I'd like to get up to your speed. :)
@DerrickMP Tension on the pedals is medium; not tight nor loose. The kick head is very loose too... Probably not what you expected but it that's how I play! I like to bury the beater in the drum head and I like to feel it...
@trasker Eh, I actually don't haha.. I like some of their stuff and I definitely appreciate them, but I can't stand the monotonous music.. I'd much rather listen to a band like After the Burial or Chimp Spanner.
@LOWdrumming press down your heal (making 1 kick) then kick with a heel-toe technique, the bring your feet back to heal up technique and repeat, thats one way, another way is to slide alont the bass pedal making a double kick, thats how i do it.....good luck
@aczeppelindc2908 but do u have in this video a longboard pedal?? coz i now kind of figured out how to do the doubles and i also can do them at a lower speed, but i have the DW3002 double pedal, and its a short one...but if i know which u had, then i know that i could do the same in a couple of months ;P *keepdrummin'*
@LOWdrumming im not the dude on the video, but heres some advice. If you can affort buy these, (the best, in the world) Axis, iron cobra or pearl eliminators, those are really expensive and ive just started out, i have small feet but the pearl-902 is a REALLY cheap BUT fucking exelent db pedal, its long enough and smooth enough to do both slide doubles and heel-toe doubles and it is solid quality and the rebound is smooth as a beachball girls ass!
@aczeppelindc2908 well, i won't buy new ones again, coz i've got my DW 3002 since christmas now...but they are very good when looking only at shortboards...and the axis ones have got direct drive, havnt they?? but what is the difference between slide doubles and heel-toe doubles??
@LOWdrumming slide is a little better in case u have to play on a short board, but other than that heel-toes is easier and not hard to us at high speed, also u save alot of energy. The axis ones have direct drive
omg. this is like my bass drum bible xD I'ma practice til I can mimic this and then post a video on it :D so gimme like...... five? six years? xD hahha, the only thing I can do is the part from world without a sun from 5:55
I'm really impressed man! what's you spring tension? my problem is when i play heel toe it doesn't sound like a full punch... it's quite weak unlike like heel up.
How do you adjust your dbl bass, tight loose, very loose ? I'm having problems getting it adjusted right so i can't stay steady with it. Its like kicking someone a hundred times and my ankle and knees starts to tire out. also im setting a little lower on my set than usually do to lack of throne lol. But ya someoen send me a vid or somethign on how to adjust and set up a dbl base pedal properly.
very nice man!! :) did you meet Gianluca Palmieri at MI? He's my teacher, 28 ys old... a couple of years he's the drummer of greg howe.. great work anyway!!
@ruckusamukus yep he's quite good :) ...how did you develope such a good volume and power on doubles with feet? you use heel toe with a little of slide too? So you really think it as a stroke with the heel, like the whole leg, and then a push with the toes? thx!
@bunnyboybxb no unfortunatly it isn't, cause you're not realy using your heel to give a stroke, it's more the middle of your foot. look some close up vids so you can see how it's done. But with that you need to practice very very much.
@ruckusamukus I understand. I have the same double pedal as You, but I still have the problem with control the "bouncing" beaters. I used to play "off the head" and maybe this is the problem. Anyway thanks a lot !! =)
Wow! I dont play drums (but I've always wanted to learn how) and I find this to be incredible! I can't hardly even comprehend how you do it! Nice job!
daaaamn really nice exercises i would never thought off :) will try them myself asap :) although i do not understand or use heeltoe but after that vid i will give it a try
BAD ASS DUDE!! I'm a newbie drummer and i just started to try the heel toe technique, and its friggin sweet how easy it is.. i gotta work on my left foot. i think its retarted, haha! anyways, just wanted to say this is sweet man! thanx!!!
