federico buffa,an italian jounalist, talks about him in his book "black jesus"....that's an incredible man...what a talent...we have to talk about him more
i played at hyde park high school against this cat major ups and had a jump shot better then kevin garnett at that time in high school fields chi-town hoop lengend
people dont realize the 360 windmill at 3:52 was the first play of the second half that game..he laid EVERYTHING up in the first half and was getting booed haha dude had an unbelievable ability of playing to the crowd and it's too bad the rest of the world outside of Chicago didn't get to see him play
@TeamFlightBrothers My team found by way of my coworker the fact that he all of a sudden became a lot better in basketball just by using 50-inch-vertical[dot]com - take a look
Yeah but they say even w/the broken neck, they think that broke his confidence, yeah he was hurt but they think it killed how he approached the game and he wasn't the same since. (as in he could have worked and got better but didnt)
TeamFlightBrothers, is 5 6, American and can dunk. Wtf you mean white men can't dunk? It's just about the training folks do to get their leg strength to be strong enough to dunk. But for me, I personally used the professional dunk workout over at 50 inch vertical (dot) com
TFB::Dunks: 6'2" Chicago Legend Ronnie Fields Documentary Part One juvtnnvyatsgsuiyfsch lzsyzjkkmcb #TeamFlightBrothers
I heard more of Ronnie Fields than Kevin Garnett back in the day. What happened to him was just as bad as what happened to another HS legend Ben Wilson (in terms of what could've been).
Quin Buckner is the all time best player to come out of the Chicago area. 2 high school state titles when there was only one division. NCAA title at Indiana. NBA title.
It bothers me till this day what happened to him - he should've been one of the best in the NBA, instead he's a youtube High School Highlight - depressing. Ronnie "King of Hops" Fields, wherever you are, I miss ya buddy!
He's been playing in leagues around the world, the last few years. He's still young doing his thang, and he's in great shape, from what I've been told. Still dunking.
@uhhh24 studying? he broke his neck in a car accident, never was the same. had nothing to do with grades. this is the mid 90's he would've gone straight to the league
@TheRealJohnnyGuns he still out here in the CHI hoopin. still got the hops. proud to say ive played against this dude at my gym and we were guarding each other
yo im starstruck. i just played ball against this guy at Xsport Fitness 2 hours ago. he still athletic man daym he cocked that bitch back on fastbreak and dunk it. i was blowin by him tho 3 times and scored three buckets on him. foreal im starstruck just got a chance to play against him
That's ridiculous. I'd say Derrick Rose is the greatest Chicago High School player because of the two titles. Isiah Thomas is by far the greatest player off all time from Chitown but might be challenged by Dwayne Wade. Derrick Rose could be up there, but maybe not #1.
6'2 ? He looks like 6'4 at least, his jumping ability was amazing. It's a shame with the car accident because he looked NBA material. It's great that he continued despite the injury, very determined.
I remember him he played here in the Phillipines back in the late 90's the TV announcers said he was famous because he was Kevin Garnetts teamate he was pretty good back then but nothing compared to the highlights in this video
excellent player overall...he indeed was in a car accident tht broke his neck..however his career wasnt over as some people believe...he signed a letter of intent to Depaul university but was turned down because of his academic inelligibility..so he still had a chance..the accident didnt actually end his career...hes in the CBA
I was in high school in the Chicago area when he was tearing it. This guy had mad skills. Him and Garnett on the same high school team!! INSANE!! There was mad buzz about this guy.

Needless to say he was a wonderful basketball player who didn't had luck in his life, due to this accident.
