A GOP staff characterized Palin and her family as Wasilla hillbillies looting Neiman Marcus from coast to coast. Another suggested that she ordered McCain staffers to buy her clothing on their own credit cards.

So, um. does anyone here realize that ACORN got ripped off and that they were the ones that got defrauded? That the phony registrations will not effect the vote numbers. If they at all influenced election it would have less of an impact than, for instance, an anonymous republican putting up flyers trying to confuse democratic voters or machines that are whoops, somehow programmed to flip votes... both things republicans love. DURRRRRRRRRRR. can we please stop with the democrat voter fraud thing
LOL - just a little humor and truth - for all those that did vote for Obama - we will revisit in a year and see what CHANGES he has made - welfare country etc...
Wow, just wow. No wonder there are people out there who would actually vote for McCain Palin when there is stuff like this floating out there in the ether.
Haha! I feel sorry for that woman who was doing the questioning. She's going to make a name for herself all the way to the McCain administration if she keeps that up! Love IT!
Maybe you could show Obama facing himself, answering the same question but with his different answers against the song Slim Shady: Would the real Barack please stand up! Please stand up!Please stand up! Of course it would look like a game of chairs.
It is pretty funny but it still doesn't come close to Sarah Palin. I mean everything that comes out of her mouth is a lie or completely nonsensical. The two aren't even in the same ball park. In fact, she got lost on her way to the ball park and never even showed up.
He gets soup a couple of times a month- from a restaurant that closed 20 years ago. His wife and daughter were killed by a drunk driver. Joe has no problem with lying/ignoring the truth. AND he is still a better choice than Obama!
They've taken Joe off the stump! While Dems are scared about Sarah, we're terrified about Joe. What would happen if he became Prez? That would be like the Curly, Larry and Moe running the government all in one man!
I love how you stuck Hillary Clinton in there, that was hilarious.
And I have brought up the election at one of my It's Academic meets and questioned it, trying to speak out, and I was happy they were willing to listen. I feel better now. Thank you!!!
hilarious and scary...Thanks for making these videos! you need to run for office!! you have more common sense than anyone running! BUT FOR NOW...AMERICA, PLEASE VOTE FOR MCCAIN.. HE IS A SAFE CANDIDATE!! MCCAIN 08!!
Hahaha, I can't believe you chose THIS interview to showcase Joe Biden's ability to publicly brainfart. He answers all of the interviewers inane questions clearly and competently. He's not lying nor is he misleading anyone anywhere during the course of this interview. He starts getting a little vague when he talks about how Obama will be "tested", but other than that he was clear, straight-forward, and sincere.
He lied on every single question. Not paying Acorn? No ties to them? Middle Class use to have tax breaks that they lost under Bush? Top 1% had never been at 21% of income before Bush. Barack does not want to spread the wealth? McCain said we won in Afghanistan?
Actually top 1% have been taxed more than 21% before Bush. Hoover raised the top rates to 63% which were then continued by FDR. But wait it gets even better! In 1936 the highest marginal rate was increased to 79% in 1936. In addition to that, between 1930-1940 business taxes doubled with the addition of "excess profits" taxes. Just by some coincidence I suppose, the budget that had been balanced during low tax rates of the 20's reached all time high deficits in the 30's during tax increases.
It also much be very easy to support a man who's tax increases you will never have to feel isn't it? You will never have to carry the burden of his tax increases. There's a reason we are no longer under your yoke, and your ignorance glorifies that reason. You live an ocean away! You don't know what the hell you are talking about!
Now, I realize the Great Depression was started by lack of regulation in the market, but it was fueled by tax increases, that is why it lasted over a decade. Also, coincidence that the balanced budget of the 20's became a record deficit in the 30's amid massive tax increases?
Economic Crisis + Tax Increases = Record Deficits + Record Unemployment
History repeats itself, and it has given us the answer this time. We are faced with an economic crisis, higher taxes aren't the answer.
Now, I know there is an idiot out there thinking. "But hey! Roosevelt got us out of the depression, everyone had a job under him!" True, but back then, we had NO COMPETITION, every industrial area capable of competing with us had been bombarded to the stone age. The only thing that kept us #1 in the market was 1. No competition, and 2. The military-industrial complex. Eisenhower helped to solidify American superiority for the time with tax cuts.
cont... But nothing could get us back to the 1920 standards of economic prosperity while maintaining high taxes. All it could do was delay the inevitable. The answer today is tax cuts to keep the economy growing, and regulation to keep the economy trimmed and stable.
Love your vids TMP, keep em coming, hope you stay on even after the election, you are great no matter who is president. <3

so the best, smartest magazine in the world (The Economist) just wholeheartedly (their word) endorsed Barack Hussein Obama. They must have missed themouthpeace's memo that Obama doesn't understand economics. Were they fooled, TMP?
Specifically, they say he is our best hope to repair the economy (recession just started and will be long) AND repair our int'l reputation.
They lambast Repubs as incompetent, big gov't, cronies, and extreme. And they laugh at McCain's gas tax holiday charade.
This was NOT the same as the Couric interview with Palin...this woman just made outrageous claims of Marxism...actually using a Karl Marx quote, hahahaha...was Bill Clinton a Marxist? What this dumb reporter fails to realize is that many Republicans, especially Reagan, have incorporated some "redistribution of wealth" programs in their administrations...What Couric did was EXPOSE Palin's ignorance and intellectually BANKRUPTCY on major issues...I'm glad Biden made her look like a fool.
Biden looked like a fool. Obama said, in his own words, that he could justify a judge ordering the confiscation of private property for the purposes of wealth redistribution. This is without a vote, an election or democratic process.
What in the hell do you call that? If it is not Marxism, you tell me what the hell it is.
It is not democracy, that is absolutely certain. Judges are not elected and should not have the right to seize private property in absence of a crime being committed.
another lie from themouthpeace. obama actually said that it was stupid for the civil rights movement to focus on trying to effect change through the courts rather than through the legislature. you would think this would make conservatives happy. it's hard to tell what themouthpeace is other than a propagandist for the republican party, whether it behaves conservatively or not. TMP = true hack.
If it is unconstitutional for the courts to push through redistribution of wealth, why isn't it also unconstitutional to do the same through the legislature? Don't you people believe in individual liberty anymore?
The courts cannot "push" through redistribution of wealth all they can do is support or deny Congress the right to do so. Typically either supported by the General Welfare clause, or denied by the 10th Amendment, depending on who the court feels like siding with.
Congress can still pass any laws it wants so long as a case does not come before the Supreme Court and rules against them.
Even then, if there is a large enough majority in Congress, they can always just change the Constitution by adding an amendment that directly states the national government has the power to reditribute wealth. If that were to happen there is nothing the Supreme Court could do.
You are correct, though the courts have actually used the 10th in an upside down manner & have used it to nationalize any policy they deem fit. It's become a kicker to the 14th to widen Federal power.
A way that a court could push through redistribution would be to rule that a share of some employer's wealth is a civil right. If it happens, it will probably be called something like a right to earn a living wage.
Applause, applause. What a big time hoot your vids are. Very talented. It's takes a rare talent to make political media that is informative and entertaining.
Pause it @ 2:53, where EVERYONE's taxes dive down ... mayeb not just 'the rich'. Stop the class warfare Dems, please ....
'TAX THE RICH, TAX THE RICH' .... why ? Didn't they earn it ? Maybe they studied, worked and tried harder ... why do we have to penalize that ? Isn't that what we should be incentivizing ?
i'm baffled by the fact that so many people on this forum will vote for McCain despite Obama cutting them a bigger tax break. Please provide your reason:
a. abortion should be illegal
b. i can't vote for a black man
c. i rather like being addicted to middle eastern oil
d. i think obama will take my gun from me
e. i think an economy that sheds 750k net jobs is a good thing
f. barack obama doesn't sound american
g. i want my children's science teachers teaching intelligent design
The only way Obama will cut me a break is if I make less money and apply for liheap, wic and section8. And since he will be totally controlling my life I suspect he will want to fuck my wife as well. You dipshit
You do know that Ronald Reagan introduced one of the most redistributive programs in history...almost all Presidents have introduced some form of socialism in their administrations...its just another scare tactic from the fear mongering Repugs.
There is a difference between progressive taxation, which Republicans do support, and blatant wealth redistribution.
We already do redistribute a lot of income, and some is ok.
The difference is when you start giving checks to people who pay no income tax and call it a tax cut. It is a fraud. It is a giant lie. It is almost criminal theft if not legitimized by a public vote.
By all means, let's talk about those other federal taxes. Small businesses chartered as C Corps aren't covered under Obama's $200K plan. His capital gains credit for small businesses would only apply for monies pulled out of the business, not any of the capital that's kept in the business for expansion & job creation.
You talking FICA? Current cap is around $102K. Obama's talked about raising that cap. That would mean a *large* tax increase for people earning well under $200K.
a I find Obama's lack of support for offering any care to infants who are born alive after surviving an attempt to abort them, claiming it would burden their mother's choice to be quite troubling.
b You have no idea how many of us have already voted for black candidates. Go ahead, keep trying to play that race card & watch it backfire.
c Drill here, drill now & that's just for starters!
My wife told me about the nurse given the prematurely born child and told to put it in a cleaning closet until it died. She couldn't bear leaving it alone and held it until it died.
That's heartbreaking... and yet the Liberals are the same ones that consider execution of serial murderers inhumane. How does any one person maintain those two positions?
Obama is more extreme than NARAL on the issue of abortion. His position shows he has no respect for life & that includes people who have been born into the most unfortunate circumstances. The nurse your wife told you about testified more than once to a committee (Ill legislature) that Obama was on. He can't pretend that these live births never happen or that current law has been enough to protect them. He says they're above his pay grade & doesn't want to burden womens' choice.
That last sentence is exactly the question I've been asking O.o
Regardless of any argument on when life begins in the womb, I think we can all agree that when a child is born breathing... that child is without a doubt a living human being. It should be obvious that in a subject that is so grey, that is the final line, The issue becomes black and white right there.
There's something strangely dead in the new Liberals. I was one once and I still have that old "bleeding heart" that we Reps make so much fun of. But that feeling is actually caring about people, importance of morals, importance of ethics. That's probably one reason I left them behind. I wasn't getting that from them anymore.
I refuse to call them liberals. Hard core leftists are about the collective, not the individual, the exact opposite of liberalism. They pretend to care about people, but only care about grabbing ahold of power to force people to live by their beliefs, not the beliefs of those they want to rule. It's one of the reasons they like to use the courts. It's the body that can ignore the will of the people & the people can't vote them out.
Studentsforlife put up a video yesterday (see my Subscriptions) with a Planned Parenthood "nurse" telling a young woman that her 22 week baby would possibly be born alive & would die soon after. There was no tippy toeing around, calling the baby a fetus. It was induce labor & the *baby* would die. October 2008 in New Jersey. The Federal Born Alive Infant Protection Act isn't worth the paper it's written on if there is no enforcement!
d I guess he'll let us keep some of our guns, but seems to think the only proper use for them is using them as a club. His position on using force in your own home to ward off someone breaks in is extreme.
e Compare a chart of jobs to the raises in the minimum wage in Jul 07 & Jul 08.
f non sequitur
g I dislike nationalization of education, including Bush's NCLB. My children are adults, so for me, it's another non sequitur.
"Dislike" is too soft a word for what people directly affected by NCLB feel. It is down right unconstitutional. The right to administering education is reserved for the states. The argument that "The states can do whatever they please, as long as they are willing to fund their education systems themselves." is bs. Federal taxes should be cut enough so that states may raise their taxes enough to fund their education directly w/o relying on the aid of the national govt.
My "dislike" comes with strong need to throw a shoe at my TV when I see some Fed pol talking about holding states & schools accountable to the Fed, and the shoe is for the exact reasons you cite.
My radicalism on the issue is elimination of the education mandate on all levels. Mandated school destroys the desire to learn. Those who do show up to learn are weighted down by those who show up because they've been forced to go.
76 Nobel Laureates in Science just endorsed Obama, the most ever. They cited his commitment to science, technology, education, and research. Now I know that this Bush, McCain, Palin, and this forum hate science, education, and research, but some of us find these things important and will vote accordingly. If you care about climate change, disease, the economy, and energy independence, the choice is obvious. Ridiculously obvious.
Hate science? You are insane. Your candidate does not even understand economics. He is a lawyer, and only a lawyer.
I am pretty sure McCain holds the same position on climate change as your frontman.
Aren't all those Nobel Laureates college professors who do not live in the real world, they live in the protected bubble of government-funded academia?
I see a conflict of interest here. They want more grant money so they never have to get a real job.
did you watch the debates? did you see obama's response to the financial crisis? he actually understands what's going on. your guy used to not pretend. now we see why, b/c he turned it into a discussion about earmarks, which is laughable.
yesterday u criticized obama for not publishing in the academic world. now you make fun of academic scientists for not living in the real world. hyprocrite.
Actually it is accepted practice for students of law to publish papers, unfortunately for Prof Robt Bork (but fortunately for us) but the current crop of global warming scientists must toe a line if they value their positions in life and their jobs. The few minutes of Expelled by Ben Stein made that very clear.
Obama's ads on stem cell research were full of lies. While many people don't know the difference between adult & embryonic stem cell research, McCain & Palin both do. Adult stem cell research has produced working results. Thus far, embryonic stem cell research has only produced fatal mutations.
DillonX, unhateful Republicans with their heads on straight are not welcome here. You're bound to be called a socialist with that kind of rational action.
Well, if Obama wins he will be the next Jimmy Carter who will once again disprove leftist economics for the benefit of a new generation of conservatives. It will not be a total loss . He will put on dramatic display how tired and old his ideas really are. Europe tried them and failed. Miserably.
a tax cut for 95% of working americans is not leftist. man, you're dense.
first you say obama is looking out for only the ultrarich and the poor. then you say he's a Jimmy Carter leftist who had tax rates on the rich that were undeniably too high and created a disincentive. which is it, themouthpeace? your 2 positions are mutually exclusive. pick a side, hypocrite.
I see what you're saying reality, but being "ultrarich" does not mean being anti-tax. You can be both, Soros for example. He's rich as hell yet all about charity and populism - with YOUR money - not his.
A guilt identity is common in the ultrarich & it makes them feel enlightened to "help" the rabble through government. Oddly, their PERSONAL charity is usually FAR below average - Obama/Biden anyone?
Last-the TRULY rich don't pay taxes! They have trust funds to pay their bills, NOT income!
Did you claim to be a lifelong Republican who's now seen the light? No, you talked about converting from being a Christian & I didn't call you on that stupid game. Since my post seems to have generated a kneejerk response from *you* instead of the guy I directed it at... how much you getting paid to troll the net for your hero?
i wish i could watch this video but the music cutting in and out is unbearable. the information is extremely interesting but the music makes me feel sick.
No wonder he banned interviews from CBS3 in Philly! Biden and Obama are a cult in the making! They both lie boldfaced abd somehow the liberals totally embrace them! WTF?
Secondly, how is taxing the ultra-rich more so that middle-class workers and poor workers get taxed less a way to support the ultra-rich? I'd love to hear you try to explain that one.
Lastly, Obama has plans to make college more affordable, health care more affordable, and education better through increased pay for teachers. McCain will do none of this. The middle class has figured this out. And these cheapshot intellectually dishonest silly videos can't change that.
the law of comparative advantage. look it up. i sense that you've never taken an economics class.
wal-mart saves the average poor family nearly $1,000 per year. why do you bash them? that's a good thing, right? what do you have against capitalism?
now I'm not suggesting Wal-Mart is perfect. shipping goods from China has environmental consequences. they should be taxed for that externality (another term you would learn if you ever take ECON 101).
Funny, I studied economics at a top 5 econ program. I aced every class. I have no problem with Wal-Mart. I just happen to think our economic policies should reinforce American products, services and innovation. You want us to buy more Nintendo Wii games.
Here is an externality. When you brutally tax the people because they create jobs and wealth, you create a disincentive to create more jobs and more wealth.
The externality is then placed on the people who need a job and cannot find one.
Adverse selection? Well, you just defined the role that Fannie and Freddie play. I can write the crappiest mortgage I want, and Fannie will buy it off me. So why not write crappy mortgages? Get it?
i guess it depends on your definition of brutal. a lot of jobs and wealth were created under bill clinton. obama has the same tax rates. brutal taxes? no way.
Fannie and Freddie were a part of the problem. You're right. But you act like they're the only cause b/c they have Dem ties. Republicans were in charge and could have changed FF. They chose not to. They're complicit, too.
Economic activity follows direction of taxation more than the absolute rate. Raising tax rates in a weakening economy is going to create a greater drag on an economy that needs to expand. Raising tax rates in an expanding economy have less impact on economic activity!!
You are so blind...Obama does not have the same tax rates.
He is removing PEP and PEASE deductions, which substantially raises taxable income dramatically. He is uncapping the Payroll tax which is a MASSIVE tax increase in small businesses who employ people.
He said he is going to close all kinds of tax incentives for growing exports. It is a job killer like none in history.
Greg Mankiw estimates a top FEDERAL rate of 48-50% relative to today plus State & Local. That is 56% Clinton: 39%.
And the only way B.O. will be able to pay for all of this is to raise everyone's taxes... BS from B.O. and Joe the bullcrapper, love Joe's cheshire cat smile, it says I'm just so full of shit and you know it.
Re:Obama has plans (college, healthcare, education)
Obama has done NOTHING in his entire career. Chicago has THE WORST schools in the world. They run a MASSIVE deficit. Chicago is the US murder capital. Jobs have FLED Illinois. 11+ of the housing projects he started in his district condemned! Obama has ZERO economic experience & NOT ONE success to point to.
Whats O done for healthcare? Nothing. College Tuition? NADA. Senate Bills? ZERO. Do U really have the audacity to HOPE he's CHANGED??
now themouthpeace isn't known for intellectual honesty. but he just outdid himself. he says that the Democrats don't care for the middle class, just the ultra-rich and the poor. Oh my. Where to begin?
First off, the middle class was kicking ass under Clinton. Under Bush, median real wages are down. Let me put that in terms that even themouthpeace can understand: the definition of the middle-class family is worse off now (in terms of what they can purchase) than they were 8 years ago.
only on this forum can you cite facts and then have themouthpeace tell you that you never cite facts.
the BLS says that the median REAL income is down since bush took office. that means purchasing power. take an econ class, TMP. college and health care costs are astronomical. you call this progress. middle class people who don't have their heads up sean hannity's ass call this a major step back. plus, if the facts weren't on our side, do you think we'd be about to elect a black man president?
Tell me how higher income levels makes them worse off? Cite some actual numbers, and use income not wages. Most employees are no longer hourly employees, so do not try that BS on me.
a mccain senior adviser says palin knows nothing about national or international issues. well, at least that leaves alaska energy issues for her to be expert on. or maybe not. she doesn't even know what % of our domestic oil comes from there.
so in response, when asked about 2012, palin chooses not to say that she's only thinking about the present election ... she's ready to fight in 2012. good luck, sarah. you'll need a ton of it to make up 4 utter incompetence.
Now you realize the DOJ is about to be under investigation for the way they have handled the ACORN voter registrations right? You're aware that is why both Biden and Obama are laughing at these questions right? You're aware that this issue began as a result of a letter Obama wrote to the DOJ about these registrations right? A letter that nailed McCains and the DOJ shoes to the floor on what they tried to do right?
I can't believe it... I actually have more respect for you than tainoaz. Don't let it go to your head, though ;) Oh... sorry, you must be busy adjusting your propeller beanie to get ready for the Big Obama Infomercial.
To all the hardcore, pull yourself up by your bootstraps, take personal responsibility (except when it comes to your Commander in Chief etc)
One really comical but true example of the difference that we must attempt to equalize in as much as to make it 'possible' to climb up the proverbial 'Economic Ladder'...
The movie 'Trading Places' is a CLASSIC for all time. Obama is a self made man that makes no excuses and yet he is NOT GOOD enough!!!!!
Un-Freaking believable! It is crazy, crazy I tell U
1st Bill Ayers gave radical Obama a job as a community agitator in charge of the $25M Anenberg Fdn.
2nd Obama disenfranchised ALL his state senate opponents via sleazy lawsuit to run unoposed.
3rd O had his surrogates illegaly open Mel Reynold's divorce records & instigated a scandal that caused him to withdraw a week before the US Senate Election.
2 years as Senator only 1 bill "Congo security act".
Oops.. Jack Ryan's divorce records. NOT Mel Reynolds'.
Reynolds was a congress Dem indicted for sexual assault & criminal sexual abuse for engaging in a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old campaign volunteer in 94.
In 95 he was convicted on 12 counts of sexual assault, obstruction of justice & solicitation of child pornography.
97 - convicted on 15 unrelated counts of bank fraud and lying to SEC investigators.
It took the twelve 1995 sex convictions to force Reynold's to resign. The sex assault & criminal sexual abuse of a 16 year old in 1994 wasn't sufficient grounds to remove him, or for him to step down.
After the Clinton pardon, Reynolds tried to run for congress again, but Jessie Jackson somehow won instead.
President H.W. Bush - created oversight committee OHFEA to monitor Frannie Mac's operations. Callet them out on using taxpayer dollars to back-up risky loans.
McCain called for regulation on Frannie Mac-gate, dems fought back.
McCain called for commission to investigate Frannie Mac-gate scandal and economic crash... Obama scoffed.
3) ACORN - radical lefts who terrorized banks w/ charges of discrimination for not issuing loans to unqualified applicants. (Obama was their "leadership trainer" & lawyer @ these trials.)
4) Clinton - put CRA on steriods forced banks to FIND ways to issue loans to unqualified applicants.
McCain called for regulation on Frannie Mac-gate, dems fought for deregulation.
Economic Crisis -- the culmination of Democrat's promises to America.
1) Fannie Mae - A GSE created under Roosevelt's "New Deal" in the Great Depression. As a GSE it suggests taxpayer dollars will back it up if crashes - created secondary mortgage market.
2) Community Reinvestment Act -- created by Carter, made banks issue mortgage loans to low-income people who couldn't afford to pay it back. Fannie and Freddie bought up these loans.
Tainoaz -- Finally... HOW DARE YOU ACCUSE OUR PRESIDENTIAL LEADERS OF MURDERING AMERICAN SOLDIERS! You lying fool, ...who killed our American soldiers were RADICAL TERRORISTS who seek to destroy America... like the ones who Obama pals around with!
Tainoaz -- Don't talk to me like you're some "defender" of the "soldier" like it's your 'birthright' to exploit the sacrifices made by them in Iraq and Afghanistan so you can attack our Commander in Chief. Pres. Bush never voted against funding for the troops serving on the the ground in the middle of a war. Barack Hussein Obama did!
Tainoaz -- In response to that nasty, demented, anti-American comment you made to me, all I want to point out to you is that the U.S. military is an all-volunteer force. We all choose to serve in the military, we are not forced to serve. This war has been going on long enough that those who are still in know what the deal is. Those who don't believe in the cause we're fighting for have long left the service... probably headed north for Canada.
Somebody is willing to come out of the closet and poke the 'Hood' out! Nice Peace to you too!
All you 'Good Ol Boys' know very well that this, if true, is a very small incident THAT HAS BEEN HYPED AS IF IT WAS SOMETHING!!!!!!!
But hey I know you all need to swallow all of the Man Milk from Hannity, Limbaugh, Beck, O'reily etc. Having said that; who needs fraud when you can steal an election via Diebold or get appointed via The Con-servative STACKED Supreme Court?
Joe is clueless and stupid. No one need embarass Joe, he does that very well all on his own. Biden, just Biden his time. Businesses create jobs. If you want a job, you should be pro-business, not pro-labor.
Excuse me, sir, but while the GOP may have cut taxes they increased spending. How does that work out at YOUR house?
It's tougher under the Democratic presidents because they're cleaning up a GOP mess and paying the bills. Don't believe it?
Google "Federal Deficit Levels" and prepare for a big surprise. I was sort of surprised by what I found. The GOP is the party of "Forgot to tax but spent anyway."
I think you are missing the last couple months with the DEMS in congress. Bush asked for 700BIL, but no that wasn't good enough for the present DEM congress. I the past two months they have spent above and beyond the budget they approved for 2008, get this:
2 TRILLION DOLLARS in two months. This is a DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS!!!
I guess those numbers aren't in your GOOGLE search yet???
Look at the record of the CARTER ADMIN, that was the last time the DEMS had both Congress and Presidency. I'll fill you in: 15% Unemployment 18% Inflation 3 weeks the government closed cuz they couldn't pay employees Gas lines 3 straight years to DECREASING GNP. Compare to BUSH: 5% average unemployment 3% Inflation GAS SURPLUSES FULL STRATEGIC OIL RESERVES 8 years of 3% or higher rise in GNP
Fannie and Freddie are about 1/10 of the cause of this crisis. Unregulated banking at ALL levels is to blame. When you lose the oversight (regulation), you open yourself up for abuses.
All the Wall Street folks who were part of this run-up in mortgage activity should be indicted. Many were aware that these financial vehicles they were constructing for sale were hollow - nothing behind them. When that guy holding the note couldn't pay after his rate adjusted up, the house of cards collapsed.
You are totally wrong about that. Those banks went into crisis mode because the shares they held in Fannie and Freddie became nearly worthless.
Why is it that Fannie and Freddie collapsed well before the real financial panic began, if they were so stable?
Their failure set forth a panic which forced banks to stop all lending activity.
If Fannie and Freddie had remained solvent, the panic would never have started. Banks still would have lost a ton of cash, but they would have kept operating.
Everyone knows that Obama did not employ ACORN and that it was a few midguided individuals that were at fault for problems. That being said the votes that were fake were reported BY ACORN to be false as they are legally obliged to do. How can you be behind some conspiracy when your the whistle blower?

So, um. does anyone here realize that ACORN got ripped off and that they were the ones that got defrauded? That the phony registrations will not effect the vote numbers. If they at all influenced election it would have less of an impact than, for instance, an anonymous republican putting up flyers trying to confuse democratic voters or machines that are whoops, somehow programmed to flip votes... both things republicans love. He's not lying nor is he misleading anyone anywhere during the course of this interview. orrinsd 3 years ago
He lied on every single question. Not paying Acorn? No ties to them? Middle Class use to have tax breaks that they lost under Bush? Top 1% had never been at 21% of income before Bush. Barack does not want to spread the wealth? McCain said we won in Afghanistan?
TOTAL LIES. EVERY SINGLE ONE...
You are a robot or just stupid. You choose.
TheMouthPeace 3 years ago 2
Actually top 1% have been taxed more than 21% before Bush. Hoover raised the top rates to 63% which were then continued by FDR. But wait it gets even better! In 1936 the highest marginal rate was increased to 79% in 1936. In addition to that, between 1930-1940 business taxes doubled with the addition of "excess profits" taxes. Just by some coincidence I suppose, the budget that had been balanced during low tax rates of the 20's reached all time high deficits in the 30's during tax increases.
Hyper44400 3 years ago
It also much be very easy to support a man who's tax increases you will never have to feel isn't it? You will never have to carry the burden of his tax increases. There's a reason we are no longer under your yoke, and your ignorance glorifies that reason. You live an ocean away! You don't know what the hell you are talking about!
Hyper44400 3 years ago
Now, I realize the Great Depression was started by lack of regulation in the market, but it was fueled by tax increases, that is why it lasted over a decade. Also, coincidence that the balanced budget of the 20's became a record deficit in the 30's amid massive tax increases?
Economic Crisis + Tax Increases = Record Deficits + Record Unemployment
History repeats itself, and it has given us the answer this time. We are faced with an economic crisis, higher taxes aren't the answer.
Hyper44400 3 years ago
Now, I know there is an idiot out there thinking. "But hey! Roosevelt got us out of the depression, everyone had a job under him!" True, but back then, we had NO COMPETITION, every industrial area capable of competing with us had been bombarded to the stone age. The only thing that kept us #1 in the market was 1. No competition, and 2. The military-industrial complex. Eisenhower helped to solidify American superiority for the time with tax cuts.
Hyper44400 3 years ago

RockawayRiotSquad 3 years ago
Biden looked like a fool. Obama said, in his own words, that he could justify a judge ordering the confiscation of private property for the purposes of wealth redistribution. This is without a vote, an election or democratic process.
What in the hell do you call that? If it is not Marxism, you tell me what the hell it is.
It is not democracy, that is absolutely certain. Judges are not elected and should not have the right to seize private property in absence of a crime being committed.
TheMouthPeace 3 years ago
another lie from themouthpeace. obama actually said that it was stupid for the civil rights movement to focus on trying to effect change through the courts rather than through the legislature. you would think this would make conservatives happy. it's hard to tell what themouthpeace is other than a propagandist for the republican party, whether it behaves conservatively or not. TMP = true hack.
realitybasedobama08 3 years ago
If it is unconstitutional for the courts to push through redistribution of wealth, why isn't it also unconstitutional to do the same through the legislature? Don't you people believe in individual liberty anymore?
ImaEtart 3 years ago
The courts cannot "push" through redistribution of wealth all they can do is support or deny Congress the right to do so. Typically either supported by the General Welfare clause, or denied by the 10th Amendment, depending on who the court feels like siding with.
Congress can still pass any laws it wants so long as a case does not come before the Supreme Court and rules against them.
Hyper44400 3 years ago
Even then, if there is a large enough majority in Congress, they can always just change the Constitution by adding an amendment that directly states the national government has the power to reditribute wealth. If that were to happen there is nothing the Supreme Court could do.
btw, thanks for that link jim ;)
Hyper44400 3 years ago
hyper44400, congress cannnot just add an amendment to the Constitution. Amendments must be ratified by a majority of the states.
1980PintoMan 3 years ago
uh duh, Was just saying what could happen I wasn't gonna go through the amendment process. (Must be ratified by 3/4 of states not a majority btw)
Hyper44400 3 years ago
The left no longer bothers with amendments. (too slow) A claim that the Consitution is a living document makes amending it unnecessary.
ImaEtart 3 years ago
You are correct, though the courts have actually used the 10th in an upside down manner & have used it to nationalize any policy they deem fit. It's become a kicker to the 14th to widen Federal power.
A way that a court could push through redistribution would be to rule that a share of some employer's wealth is a civil right. If it happens, it will probably be called something like a right to earn a living wage.

RockawayRiotSquad 3 years ago
There is a difference between progressive taxation, which Republicans do support, and blatant wealth redistribution.
We already do redistribute a lot of income, and some is ok.
The difference is when you start giving checks to people who pay no income tax and call it a tax cut. It is a fraud. It is a giant lie. It is almost criminal theft if not legitimized by a public vote.
TheMouthPeace 3 years ago
News flash: there are federal taxes other than the income tax. Stop the lies, themouthpeace. You're shameless.
realitybasedobama08 3 years ago
By all means, let's talk about those other federal taxes. Small businesses chartered as C Corps aren't covered under Obama's $200K plan. His capital gains credit for small businesses would only apply for monies pulled out of the business, not any of the capital that's kept in the business for expansion & job creation.
You talking FICA? Current cap is around $102K. Obama's talked about raising that cap. That would mean a *large* tax increase for people earning well under $200K.

jim15215 3 years ago 2
Obama is more extreme than NARAL on the issue of abortion. His position shows he has no respect for life & that includes people who have been born into the most unfortunate circumstances. The nurse your wife told you about testified more than once to a committee (Ill legislature) that Obama was on. He can't pretend that these live births never happen or that current law has been enough to protect them. He says they're above his pay grade & doesn't want to burden womens' choice.
ImaEtart 3 years ago
That last sentence is exactly the question I've been asking O.o
Regardless of any argument on when life begins in the womb, I think we can all agree that when a child is born breathing... that child is without a doubt a living human being. There's something strangely dead in the new Liberals. I was one once and I still have that old "bleeding heart" that we Reps make so much fun of. jim15215 3 years ago
It's the body that can ignore the will of the people & the people can't vote them out.

g I dislike nationalization of education, including Bush's NCLB. My children are adults, so for me, it's another non sequitur.
ImaEtart 3 years ago
"Dislike" is too soft a word for what people directly affected by NCLB feel. It is down right unconstitutional. The right to administering education is reserved for the states. The argument that "The states can do whatever they please, as long as they are willing to fund their education systems themselves." is bs. Federal taxes should be cut enough so that states may raise their taxes enough to fund their education directly w/o relying on the aid of the national govt.
Hyper44400 3 years ago
My "dislike" comes with strong need to throw a shoe at my TV when I see some Fed pol talking about holding states & schools accountable to the Fed, and the shoe is for the exact reasons you cite.
My radicalism on the issue is elimination of the education mandate on all levels. Mandated school destroys the desire to learn. Those who do show up to learn are weighted down by those who show up because they've been forced to go.

realitybasedobama08 3 years ago
I see what you're saying reality, but being "ultrarich" does not mean being anti-tax. You can be both, Soros for example. He's rich as hell yet all about charity and populism - with YOUR money - not his.
A guilt identity is common in the ultrarich & it makes them feel enlightened to "help" the rabble through government. Oddly, their PERSONAL charity is usually FAR below average - Obama/Biden anyone?
Last-the TRULY rich don't pay taxes! They have trust funds to pay their bills, NOT income!
mredstriumph 3 years ago
It gives zero to the self-employed. The 95% number is debunked.
Reality is that Obama will not cut taxes. He said the same thing in 2004, but alas no tax cut.
Bill Clinton said the same thing in 1992, but alas no tax cut.
The Democrats learned from 2004...just lie about giving a tax cut.

And these cheapshot intellectually dishonest silly videos can't change that.
realitybasedobama08 3 years ago
Maybe by giving them checks that go straight back to Wal-Mart, of which Warren Buffett is a major investor...
Wal-Mart products are largely made in China. Tell me how that grows the economy?
TheMouthPeace 3 years ago
the law of comparative advantage. look it up. i sense that you've never taken an economics class.
wal-mart saves the average poor family nearly $1,000 per year. why do you bash them? that's a good thing, right? what do you have against capitalism?
now I'm not suggesting Wal-Mart is perfect. shipping goods from China has environmental consequences. they should be taxed for that externality (another term you would learn if you ever take ECON 101).
realitybasedobama08 3 years ago
Funny, I studied economics at a top 5 econ program. I aced every class. I have no problem with Wal-Mart. I just happen to think our economic policies should reinforce American products, services and innovation. You want us to buy more Nintendo Wii games.
Nice policy genius!
TheMouthPeace 3 years ago
i guess it must be only the top 4 econ programs that teach about externalities, adverse selection, and market failure then. that's a shame.
realitybasedobama08 3 years ago
No, I know about all of those.
Get it?
TheMouthPeace 3 years ago
i guess it depends on your definition of brutal. a lot of jobs and wealth were created under bill clinton. obama has the same tax rates. brutal taxes? no way.
Fannie and Freddie were a part of the problem. You're right. But you act like they're the only cause b/c they have Dem ties. Republicans were in charge and could have changed FF. They chose not to. They're complicit, too.
realitybasedobama08 3 years ago
Economic activity follows direction of taxation more than the absolute rate. Raising tax rates in a weakening economy is going to create a greater drag on an economy that needs to expand. Raising tax rates in an expanding economy have less impact on economic activity!!
ImaEtart 3 years ago
You are so blind...Obama does not have the same tax rates.
He is removing PEP and PEASE deductions, which substantially raises taxable income dramatically. He is uncapping the Payroll tax which is a MASSIVE tax increase in small businesses who employ people.
He said he is going to close all kinds of tax incentives for growing exports. It is a job killer like none in history.
Greg Mankiw estimates a top FEDERAL rate of 48-50% relative to today plus State & Local. That is 56% Clinton: 39%.

the BLS says that the median REAL income is down since bush took office. that means purchasing power. take an econ class, TMP. college and health care costs are astronomical. you call this progress. middle class people who don't have their heads up sean hannity's ass call this a major step back. plus, if the facts weren't on our side, do you think we'd be about to elect a black man president?
realitybasedobama08 3 years ago
No they do not. Once again you cannot put an actual number or an actual report referenced anywhere.
Actual tax returns, which understate income if anything, show a dramatic rise. BLS data is based on a survey over the phone, not actual reported data.
Survey data is always biased, and people will always be more guarded when someone calls from the government asking how much money you make.
Think about it Poindexter...

Tell me how higher income levels makes them worse off? Cite some actual numbers, and use income not wages. Most employees are no longer hourly employees, so do not try that BS on me.
Cite me a source and some data.
TheMouthPeace 3 years ago
It's only a higher income level until the layoff. Meanwhile, businesses pass their additional tax burdens along via higher prices.
Basic economics (which is something that evades socialists and other children of the irrational Mr. Marx).

a mccain senior adviser says palin knows nothing about national or international issues. well, at least that leaves alaska energy issues for her to be expert on. or maybe not. she doesn't even know what % of our domestic oil comes from there.
so in response, when asked about 2012, palin chooses not to say that she's only thinking about the present election ... she's ready to fight in 2012. good luck, sarah. you'll need a ton of it to make up 4 utter incompetence.

One really comical but true example of the difference that we must attempt to equalize in as much as to make it 'possible' to climb up the proverbial 'Economic Ladder'...

Never ran a business.

mredstriumph 3 years ago
RECIPIENT OF CLINTON PARDON.
Hard to keep IL Dem scandals straight
mredstriumph 3 years ago
It took the twelve 1995 sex convictions to force Reynold's to resign. The sex assault & criminal sexual abuse of a 16 year old in 1994 wasn't sufficient grounds to remove him, or for him to step down.
After the Clinton pardon, Reynolds tried to run for congress again, but Jessie Jackson somehow won instead.
You couldn't write this stuff!!

Frannie Mac - a GSE, government sponsord enterprise ... means its backed by taxpayer dollars.
It failed, we payed. Frannie Mac's had no incentive to practice good business sense, why bother when it's not your money.
That's why government should stay out of the economy. That's why capitalism works, and socialism doesn't.
IndoViking 3 years ago
President H.W. Bush - created oversight committee OHFEA to monitor Frannie Mac's operations. Callet them out on using taxpayer dollars to back-up risky loans.
McCain called for regulation on Frannie Mac-gate, dems fought back.
McCain called for commission to investigate Frannie Mac-gate scandal and economic crash... Obama scoffed.
Hmmm, it's no wonder why...

Tainoaz -- Don't talk to me like you're some "defender" of the "soldier" like it's your 'birthright' to exploit the sacrifices made by them in Iraq and Afghanistan so you can attack our Commander in Chief.

Wow, Tainoaz, are you still on here? Geez, I hope Obama is paying you in more than just hope and change for your valient efforts.

Posted no doubt by another fine example of the failed Republican Party.
It's only partially McCain's fault he's losing. It's largely the fault of people who create and distribute this type of information.
joemikejake 3 years ago
You mean facts with data and charts based on the real world, not stylized talking points?
When was the last time the Democrats gave the middle class a tax cut? 1961.
Clinton said he would, he did not. Obama said he would in 2004, he has not. Bush said he would and he did.
Clinton presided over the greatest concentration in income among the top 1% in history.
Your party runs against it's own legacy. Those are all facts.
You hate facts. You like phony concepts like hope and change.
TheMouthPeace 3 years ago
Excuse me, sir, but while the GOP may have cut taxes they increased spending. How does that work out at YOUR house?
It's tougher under the Democratic presidents because they're cleaning up a GOP mess and paying the bills. Don't believe it?
Google "Federal Deficit Levels" and prepare for a big surprise. I was sort of surprised by what I found. The GOP is the party of "Forgot to tax but spent anyway."
joemikejake 3 years ago
I think you are missing the last couple months with the DEMS in congress. Bush asked for 700BIL, but no that wasn't good enough for the present DEM congress. I the past two months they have spent above and beyond the budget they approved for 2008, get this:
2 TRILLION DOLLARS in two months. This is a DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS!!!
I guess those numbers aren't in your GOOGLE search yet???
eaxxdotcom 3 years ago
Fall asleep in Government class, did we? First 6 years of the Bush Admin = Zero vetoes
Last 2 years = LOTS of vetoes
The Democrats have majorities in Congress but not super majorities necessary to override a presidential veto.
The GOP is still to blame for what's happening these past two year and they are about to pay the piper come next Tuesday.

Here is a useful comparison.
1979: People waited in line to buy gas. Not because the price was too low or too high, there was none to buy.
2007: People waited in line to buy a Nintendo Wii. Not because the price was too low or too high, there was none to buy.
Boy the world has really gotten worse!
Liberals are simply too close-minded to observe history.

That is so simplistic. The housing bubble is to blame for all of this and it started in 1997. Be real.
The collapse that broke the financial market was Fannie and Freddie. It destroyed all confidence in the mortgage market, which had a domino effect.
Fannie and Freddie have been run by Democrat cronies for decades...run badly. Dems fought all regulation of Fannie and Freddie.
You are WAY too simplistic in your view of this crisis.
TheMouthPeace 3 years ago
Fannie and Freddie are about 1/10 of the cause of this crisis. Unregulated banking at ALL levels is to blame. When you lose the oversight (regulation), you open yourself up for abuses.
All the Wall Street folks who were part of this run-up in mortgage activity should be indicted. Many were aware that these financial vehicles they were constructing for sale were hollow - nothing behind them. When that guy holding the note couldn't pay after his rate adjusted up, the house of cards collapsed.
joemikejake 3 years ago
You are totally wrong about that. Those banks went into crisis mode because the shares they held in Fannie and Freddie became nearly worthless.
Why is it that Fannie and Freddie collapsed well before the real financial panic began, if they were so stable?
Their failure set forth a panic which forced banks to stop all lending activity.
If Fannie and Freddie had remained solvent, the panic would never have started. Banks still would have lost a ton of cash, but they would have kept operating.
