I have always loved this song even though I normally only listen to reggae and soul. this song is sung with such passion and senitivity that it would make anybody cry. This brings back a lot of good memories for me. I can remember my mother singing this when she came home on leave from the A T S she was an Ambulance driver and she I was staying with my aunt Margaret until the evacuation started Then I was evacuated until the end of the war Dad was in the Army

You can read into it whatever comes to your mind. I'm not saying that their thoughts are anything but trying to do their duty and that they are obviously willing. I think its important to be supportive of our troops, they are our peeps. But not to forget what the sacrifice really means and that it shouldn't be done for ego.
