  • This is really amazing. Thank you so much for filming this!!

  • 1:13 Quaker Oats guy??

  • @pejb83 No, these guys are dressed like the people from the 18th century. Every year, in August, there is this Festival of New France and they recreate when the people from France first arrived here. You must see this, people are very friendly and you will get a warm welcome. Guarrantie my friend!

  • Quebec City: Architecture you will not see in any other city on the continent, history going back 400 years (further for its native population) and a ton of "joie de vivre"

To the uneducated politician wannabes: sit down with a French "separatist" from Quebec for a drink and get educated on the topic before writing stupid comments. I teach English in Quebec, I've lived in 4 Canadian provinces and most Canadians are nice people. Too bad the stupid minority posts most of the comments here! :o)

  • It's fun to see that english Canadian are ignorant because that's not true.

  • @JewelBocks Wow, ....theres a REALLY good chance that YOU the illiterate and ignorent redneck, you clearly never get out of your mom basement and you are seriously a shame to all Canadians.

  • The truth is that the British built up the province of Quebec. The French slowly became more numerous, and began disrespecting the English by shoving them aside and violating their civil rights, and now they are trying to pretend to tourists the world over that the province of Quebec has always been entirely French.

  • @JewelBocks Seriously dude, you just proved that you failed big time your history class. Do your homework and take again your lessons, but this time PAY ATTENTION or other it's just that your not clever enough!

  • I am from Texas. French is my ancentry. I am part German and English. I alway want to visit la ville de Québec. I will try to remember St-Alexandre Pub. Merci.

  • Yeah, but we pay way more taxes than all the other provinces, can be like twice the others, i think we are way more involved in politic than anywhere else in Canada.

  • Quebec is subsidized to the hilt. Both by Canada and by its own citizens. If Quebecors want to live high on the hog, work a four day work week, subsidize their daycare, their education, their language, their culture, and numerous other benefits they currently enjoy, then they should pay the entire bill and live separately as their own nation. They should not be allowed to suck the live out of a neighbouring country that they detest and abuse as a matter of daily practice.

  • Some of us try, but our provincial government doesnt want, and half the Quebecors are f*** stupid, yeah i'm not scared to say the truth, Quebec is full of idiots, thats why they keep voting for the same government, fortunately, i'll leave this place as soon as i can.

  • How about another Referendum? No one from Canada will come to convince you to stay if you just try one more time. Way too much damage has been done to Canada since the last Referendum and I think most Canadians know that now. Canada has finally woken up to the trickery of Quebec. I actually wish the Canadian people were given the choice in a Referendum and would force Quebec to leave. It should be our decision as much as Quebec's.

  • when you leave, can I have your apartment?

  • To respond to Jizuschrist, Quebec does not mean «strait» but «where the river narrows».Of course, if a direct reference to the Saint-Laurent river. And it was not call Port Royal. As a matter of fact, Port Royal was an other french colony but in Nova Scotia.

  • I've heard a lot about that pub! I really do want to come to Quebec City, but the flights are so expensive from the UK :( I hear St. Alexander pub is nice though.

  • canadian-affair is what you need

  • Why didnt they name it Champlain city? Quebec means " strait" apparently in algonquin. Originally it was called Port Royal,I think Ville Champlain sounds better?

  • VIVE LE QUÉBEC!!!!!!!!!!

  • oui vivre le québec

  • Wow I'm still amazed that the outfits were home-made! I want one!

  • I was there.... I pet a penguin ice sculprute and got yelled at.... In english... by a french guy.... how did he know i knew english? I will never know.... (je suis francais mais je vie en alberta lol)

  • This year (2008) Québec city celebrates the 400th anniversary of foundation by Samuel De Champlain. There's a lot of activities to see.

  • Yes exactly!:) I learned something new today as well lol, that the St. Lawrence is also called the Fleuve St-Laurent, so much for being Canadian eh?:P You are from Quebec?

  • What is this St.Lawrence River you're talking about?

  • it is the river on the coast of Quebec, Canada

  • oh you mean the Fleuve St-Laurent

  • C'est le fun aller a quebec de temps en temps :)
