A lot of it is just super fast guitar that sounds like shit and blast beats no melody or substance to it at all :/ That coming from a huge death metal fan. That is why I love Death so much, they are so heavy yet so melodic at the same time. Just like Dismember!

Dude, melody can be employed in metal if it's used correctly, Dismember are a great example of this. Also the only bands who are doing the same shit are mainstream bands, listen to Progressive metal like Maudlin of The Well or Edge of Sanity if you want something different.
