The only difference is , there's a shell on top of linux called X server, X which is your graphical interface. Different distro's add features by adding to the original code. LINUX IS NOT AN OS, It"s a kernel.

I just got PCLinux OS KDE a few weeks ago, I like it. I can install it in about 5 minutes, no muss no fuss. It does what I need it to do and it didn't cost a nickel.
It's unfortunate that voice, a person speaking is excluded from this. People who do promotional work talk. They don't stand or sit there pointing at things; they talk. And adding this adds the human element. Some silent movies are very good, but promoting technology or any other products or services really should be done with human communication included. Or did the cat take and run off with your tongue?
@pvutborg Linux in itself is text-based. So no, PCLinuxOS isn't "real Linux." Each distro of Linux is a build on the "real Linux," meaning that Linux is just the kernel. Most distros of Linux use GNOME, KDE, or XFCE as a GUI.
@Theeze0504 Whatever the heck it is, there's no official Linux(tm) like Microsoft's Windows. There's variants. No need to get mad just because someone got their facts messed up. :/
Let me rephrase: Linux comes in all shapes and forms, and because of that there's no such thing as the one "real Linux", because it fits anyone with different tastes, advanced or beginners. :P

@DreamdoctorBL Depends on the Desktop enviroment GNOME: 1.2GHZ CPU 512 RAM around the 100 or 80 mb range for video - 3GB drive.
