radioheads version easier, the part were this dude "bars" is miles off tune, check out "warrenmusic" "there there" this tutorial its near perfect. Tuning ? considering you have a B and D string for reference, tuning to Drop D, High B should take you, 10 seconds max plus it sounds better and makes it easier to play. "If somethings worth doing, its worth doing right"
Lol, this guys getting pulverized for using standard tuning. Gotta say, although the intro sounds accurate, the bars, which are the essence of the song immediately sound funky...a bit like biting into a seemingly delicious sandwich who's meat has just began to spoil - not until you take a few more chews that you want to spit it out. Sorry dude, not being mean, just realize that once the meat has spoiled, it's time to go alternate tuning!
Thom plays it differently and more simply. I started to learn it like you play it but it's much easier to play (Like quite a few songs) if you tune differently. Tuning vs ease of play is the debate here - Personally, I don't care how you play it and it sounds fine, however if I were pulling together a lesson, I'd probably explain the options. Well done for taking the time to teach and apart from the above, your teaching style seems pretty good. Thanks.
oh jesus, just tune like you should and its a breeze, PLUS its accurate... check out warrens tutorial on "there there".. if it only takes a 1sec to do drop d.. it'll only take you 2sec to do the right tuning.,.
I don't know how accurate this is to the original Radiohead song, which of course is really good, but I don't think that matters at all because this is a fine version and was a lot of fun to learn. Well done and thanks for teaching it to us!
Who wants to tune their guitar for one song? No one. Hey everyone, if you want to play a simple version in standard, play it this way. If you want the correct way, look elsewhere. Simple. Thanks
ya, but the problem is is doesn't sound alike. Drop tuning one's E string and tuning ones A string a full step up is really easy. The tuning of this song is the most original part.
hey man, i'm all in defense of you playing it standard tuning, its what i do... and you're playing it like i do pretty much. But that sequence you're describing as the e minor in barre from the third fret work back down... sounds SO much better if you play it like this instead:
3-x-0-4-0-x
2-0-0-2-0-x
0-2-0-0-0-x
flows much nicer into the A chord that way as well (Y)
@KevanHanson I have no problem tuning my guitar for one song, if i'm going to play something i wanna play it right, inaccurate is inaccurate my friend, think i'll go watch warrenlain's video now.
I do (tune my guitar for individual songs) The intro sounds ok in standard tune, but the chord progression is much less compelling compared to original. The beauty of that progression is the droning open strings opposed to power chords you use. It works, but is not as interesting. Just my 2 cents.
Why would you go to that amount of effort when you can play the song perfectly and much like in the recording on standard tuning. The guy on the video may have misinterpreted a couple of chords or two, but you can easily play the whole thing on standard tuning and make it sound good enough, its that simple.
"Just hit the right strings at the right times" haha words of wisdom :) Thanks little buddy

Not the right chords. "There There" requires alt. tuning. Warrenmusic has the proper version. This doesn't sound like the song.

hello Kevan, thanks forthe lesson...
radiohm3 2 years ago
the only part you have remotely correctly is the intro but the tuning is D B D G B D that makes the song way easier to play and sound way closer.

what about
3-0-0-4-0-x
2-0-0-2-0-x
2-0-2-0-0-x
in DBD and the same thing with A string muted
in standart
Yavesguitar 2 years ago
sry small mistake with "standart" i meant just Droped-D cause that one i can tune by ear in 1 sec so i allways do that.

@KevanHanson
it's pretty easy dude - drop your low E down and your bump your 5th string up. Way, way easier to play this song with the correct tuning.
I mean good try and all - but sometimes you cannot substitute sound for the purpose of the layman learner

I think they play it with drop D and the A is a B...
This is an easier, and a bit different way. But still good
