Nice, and also legal. One downside though is that with a slightly flexible Kubotan, the use is only really for hammerstriking and forward thrusting. Used for escaping locks by pressuring bone etc is going to be more difficult than with a metal kubo.
Sir, VERY smart Kubotan variation. Another example of the need for a minimum 5 inch length for a short stick to be truly effective at close range (the range of real world defense, firearms not withstanding) in a real world confrontation.
looks nice but this makes your kubotan use only half as effective as with a normal one, cant use this one from mean joint locks etc.

I've carried a slightly longer one with a ball bearing in one end for years. works amazingly, just a little spring with massive weight.
