  • yup. totally agree.

  • There were no Chinese troops in vietnam. The whole war was bogus from the beginning.

  • @chica476 The Chinese provided all kinds of supports to the North Vietnamese. What was even more critical and normally not acknowledged in the laundry list of war material is the psychological and strategic advantage provided by Communist China’s pledge to intervene in the advent of a United States invasion of North Vietnam, and communicating that pledge to the U.S. This strategic advantage in effect cannot be overstated.

  • This is a conservative speech at that fail to recognize the main thing; htere was no good reason to intervene in Vietnam. And the USA could not win this war unless it exterminate the whole vietnamise people. Considerinf the american involvment in the Vietnam war as something "limited. do not make sense regarding the massive actions made by the United States in Vietnam as a war efort. The problem was and is political at the beginningÈ You had no good reasons tu be there.

  • and just exactly would we have gained from a "victory" in Vietnam?

  • Blaming McNamara for the failure in Vietnam is ludicrous. Had JFK not been killed i'm sure history would read very differently. Vietnam was Lyndon Johnson's war, he was President & responsibility for it's failure rests with him. The US clearly underestimated the resolve of the North Vietnamese who were determined to succeed no matter the cost. The US was never going to win using conventional methods. Nuclear weapons were not an option They were up against a difficult terrain & a dedicated foe.

  • Had LeMay had his way, idiots like Savage wouldn't be around to broadcast their garbage. McNamara was a fool about Vietnam, but he did manage to keep stupid idiots like LeMay from attacking Cuba which would have resulted in a Soviet nuclear exchange in 1962. God forgive fools like Savage and the bozos that listen to him and think they are patriots.

You can't like Savage and love America.

  • @notredamehesamighty Exactly. Initially, I kinda sympathized with the view held by people like LeMay in regards to Vietnam but after reading evidence concerning how committed the Soviets and the Chinese were to defending North Vietnam, I absolutely agree with you. The only other realistic option was to "get out" but the war-mongers didn't want that either.

  • lemay was crazy. mcnamara wasnt a bad guy, and do u really think these orders came from mcnamara? no. u dont think LBJ or a 4 star general would tell their troops to have unarmed rifles in a war zone? no fuckin way. the callers a joke, Mcnamara and JFK saved america, russia and the world during the Missile Crises but somehow i think right wingers would love them more if they would have destroyed russia and lost over 50 million americans and our atmosphere in a WW3 scenerio

  • i hate you blame him not the president!!!??

  • i hate you blame him not the president!!!

  • watch Fog of War. tell me that McNamara was a pig.

  • Oh yeah, and what this guy doesn't bring up was that Lemay was trying to start WWIII with the Russians.

  • why does everybody pronounce his last name with a mac when its spelt Mc

  • @inFAMOUS581 Because that's the way he use to pronounce it.

  • In fact, it goes much deeper than that, both McNamara and Kissinger should have have been charged with treason .

  • Well the caller and his dad is alot dumber than Mcnamara that's for sure. Everybody jumps out to critisize Mcnamara now when he's dead and can no longer completely destroy these idiots arguments which he easily would have done otherwise.

I think we should thank that a man as smart as Mcnamara was in the white house during the cold war, we might not have been talking here otherwise.

  • yeah they dropped more bombs but selected targets wrong way to fight im not saying they win wars that way but just bomb the shit out of hanoi in like 65 not 1972 doesnt make sense

  • This nightmare of a human being, McNamara, is what happens when citizens put their leaders on pedestals and don't question everything they do.

  • The Allies (not just America) dropped 3.4 million tons of bombs in WWII. We dropped 6.7 million tons of bombs on Vietnam. I doubt more bombs would have helped...it's not like we sent troops there without any help from the Air Force.

  • @Calvary48 Lemay was advocating total war, full resources directed towards victory. He is right.

  • Doc Savage is perhaps the most intelligent (and entertaining) conservative voice on the radio today. A true, red-blooded American patriot (just like Newt Gingrich and Rush Limbaugh), I wonder if he ever thanked that evil President Jimmy Carter for pardoning draft dodgers like him?

  • @hatmap

", I wonder if he ever thanked that evil President Jimmy Carter for pardoning draft dodgers like him?"

"The smart people would never be in the Army." - Dr. James Watson

I think we can all agree to the fact that his IQ is higher than your entire family tree combined.

  • @Romansteel13 Thanks for replying to my long-ago comment. Nice to see you quote my atheist/humanist/pacifist, "whites are the superior race" relative, and great seeing you defend a "Jews are superior to goyim" chickenhawk conservative who'd love America to nuke and annihilate all of Israel's enemies for them!

  • @hatmap

""The smart people would never be in the Army." - Dr. James Watson

I think we can all agree to the fact that his IQ is higher than your entire family tree combined."

LOL, you got fucking powned kid.

Now you're grasping at straws trying to attack his character instead of his argument.

  • He killed a lot of zombies in Black Ops too!

  • @AlphaAlec45 Savage doesn't care for your childish games! :P

  • Typical pro-war bullshit, he ignores that those raids to test defense only drove the Soviets to improve their SAMS and migs and every time we tried escalating the Soviets escalated supplies to VC in response.

Seriously if we went all out in Vietnam it would at best cause to Soviets to flood North Vietnam with monsterous amounts of military equipment as to the trickle they gave (even in tet only 1/3 of VC had AK-47s, most planes were obsolete and yes I did look that up) and at worse WWIII.

  • I wonder how idiotic this is going to be... *listens to the clip*

My dad was in Vietnam too and said these two guys are full of crap and unlike the guy, was was probably a REMF (look it up), my dad was actually had a tough job, a stretcher bearer (he had to go in and retrieve the wounded and dead, often in the middle of battle) so he really got to see the hell of vietnam as opposed to being thousands of feet above it.

  • This is BS

  • " ... the doctrine of the Cold War as a moral struggle to contain an evil, expansionist Soviet Union, was a fraud. In fact it was always about American imperialism all along, with "communist" merely the name given to those who stood in imperialism's way." -- William Blum, West Bloc Dissident

  • Micheal Savage is a Savage.

  • mcnamara was workin for the ford motor company between 58-62...when ur father was in combodia and vietnam....so how did he tell the callers dad to wear t shirt and jeans...and carry an unloaded rifle?....bullshit caller...

  • So Curtis Lemay's hero now? It's the smuggiest thing to say "I'm so much better than you cause I know the truth, like or not, here it is and no one can tell me otherwise". There are many aspects to any matter. Absolute "truth" is either non-existing, or beyond human reach.

  • most of you are totally ignorant about the goals of that war - you think a victory was sought? US Co.s were allowed to build weapons production facilities for the Russians, we built the means, up in russia, for the war to continue... it was not meant for victory, rather to be sustained and fought out continuously to drive our economy, and our global monetary system ... who cares about the puppets!!

  • What Micheal Savage talks about on his show is not the truth. It's a misinterpretation of the truth. He looks at an issue and makes his own conclusions on how HE sees it which is not necessarily true. Anyone who listens to Savage, don't be fooled when he says that the aim of his show is to reveal the truth because all he does is shove his own opinions down his listeners' throats.

  • @peabody66 He speaks his opinions, he doesn't shove it down anyones throat. You, and everybody else has the option to NOT listen to his show. Nobody is forcing you. And, please cite one "lie" he has made in his 15 years on the air. Name 1.....I don't think you can.

  • @critter505 I can name one. When Micheal Jackson died Savage said that Micheal Jackson "had a thing for little boys" even though MJ was acquitted and there was NO evidence to prove that he was a molester. Savage himself said that he bases his opinions on facts. I'd like to know on what "facts" did he base his conclusion that MJ molested little boys? If Savage's listeners want the news of the day they should definitely pick up a newspaper instead of listening to someone's opinions.

  • @peabody66 Like I said, cite 1 lie, not opinion of his opinion. He was accused twice, in the court of public opinion most believed that he was a pedophile. He certainly fit the profile. And you really think writers in today's failing newspapers don't try to push an agenda? Do you really believe that because it's in a paper, than it must be true? Wow, the liberal media really did a number on you, didn't they.....

  • @critter505 How do you know Micheal Jackson fits the profile of a pedophile? Are you a lawyer? Are you a criminal psychologist? Yes, he was accused twice and twice they couldn't prove that he was a pedophile. And pray tell, why turn to a radio commentator if you want to know about the news of the day? That's not smart at all. And no, I don't believe everything I read in the newspaper. And what makes you think that Savage is NOT trying to push an agenda?

  • @peabody66 Actually it is my field of study. However, I'm not going to bore you with an esoteric breakdown of how he fits a "profile". But, I will tell you this, once someone is accused of something I can believe it to be possibly false. Twice and you have a pattern. Did they find him guilty? No, but they didn't find him innocent either. At least not the second time around. And at least Savage is honest about his bias, he's a commentator, but the ones that try to pass themselves off as objective

  • @peabody66 ...well, that's just a farce that anyone with at least a half a brain could figure out. So, good luck with the whole defense of the late Michael Jackson's honor thing. I hope it works out for you.....BTW, did you think that O.J. was innocent?

  • @critter505 There is no comparison between Micheal Jackson and OJ Simpson, none whatsoever. In OJ's case they found physical evidence and in MJ's case they found none. The prosecution built their case on hearsay and innuendo. Just because someone once accused more than once that doesn't mean that there's a pattern. The second time MJ was accused the accuser's mother went straight to a lawyer instead of going to the police. What parent of a molested child does that?

  • @peabody66 Actually, there was a huge similarity. They both exploited their own race to swindle a jury. But, no I am not going to be a lawyer, I'm taking Psychology classes. And, you were actually mistaken when you said "the mother went straight to a lawyer", she filed a police report fro criminal intent. The 1st accusation was a civil matter, the 2nd, the parent would not settle. So, why would MJ offer to settle if he was so innocent? Can we say buy off?

  • @critter505 How was it that they exploited their race? The jury that found MJ innocent was predominantly white. I don't know if the prosecution was hoping for a different outcome with no blacks on the jury. An out of court settlement is not an admission of guilt. You know that. MJ actually wanted to fight the accusations back then but his insurance carrier forced him to pay the settlement. Tell me something, if someone molested your child would you take money from them?

  • @critter505 If law is your field of study did you look into the background of the second accuser's family? They had a reputation of trying to swindle money out of celebrities and being con artists and the mother had a history of coaching her children to lie in order to get money.

  • @peabody66 The fact is, the guy did nothing significant in his lifetime. He was an entertainer, and a pedophile. Why people were so in love with the guy, I'll never know. But, he deserved much worse for the things he did to those children, and I won't miss him.

  • @critter505 You're one dimensional like all right wing extremist. He gave lots of money to charity. He sang songs that brought awareness about poverty in the world. Do you know about "We are the World" and "Man in the Mirror"? He holds the record as the most charitable entertainer in history by The Guinness Book of World Records and he sold more albums than any other singer in history even in death. If that's not significant, I don't know what it is.

  • @peabody66 Here we go, I'm an extremist because I don't like the child molester. If he was a white singer, you would give 2 fucks about him, I promise. And, all he really did besides molest children was scar his children, and dangle them out of windows when they were babies. Can I prove it? No, but not anymore than you can prove he didn't do it. But, really, would you let children close to you stay the night at his house? I really doubt it, I don't care what you say. "He gave money to charity"..

  • @critter505 You can't prove that he's a pedophile. You can't possibly come to that conclusion just because he was accused the second time. What physical evidence proves that he was a pedophile? I'd really like to know how he fits the profile. Trust me, I won't be bored.

  • @peabody66 ...oh boy, how charitable of him. And he also spent millions on surgery, and putting playgrounds in his backyard. He was a self centered child molester, and he had the whole world fooled. You act like you knew the guy. And the real reason I asked you if OJ was guilty in your opinion was simple. I wanted to see if your main motivation was race. Apparently I was right in my assumption.

  • @critter505 Oh! So do you think I'm lying when I said that he was charitable entertainer. So nothing I mentioned means a thing? A person who is self centered would not have the record as the most charitable entertainer like he does. It seems to me that your being bias on purpose. Why are you so stubborn? And you wonder why people voted for Obama in 08. You mustn't make those statements without solid evidence. For me I always look at two sides of an issue. Unlike you and your hero the cannibal.

  • @critter505 You can't prove that my motivation is race. If Micheal Jackson was white I would defend him the same way and believe me if there was solid evidence that he was a pedophile I would pray for a curse to come upon every generation of his family. Try to walk in someone's shoes before you judge them.

  • @critter505 And you didn't answer my question. If someone molested your child would you file a civil suit like the father of the first accuser? By the way that father committed suicide last year and five years before that he brutally attacked the same son who was supposedly molested by MJ.

  • @critter505 I'm not saying that Savage doesn't have a right to speak his mind. But he has a responsibility to base his conclusions on solid facts and not to be self opinionated. Not everything is not black and white. There's always gray in between.

  • I think it's worthy to note that McNamara was not gung ho for the war the entire time. Around 67 he decided it wasn't a good idea and that's why he resigned as Defense Secretary. Savage's assertion that McNamara supported the war all the way is completely incorrect.

  • Didn't Lemay wanted to nuke Cuba?

Yes..Soviets would of have struck us with many nukes as well..

  • McNamara was actually probably responsible for saving a lot of lives. If it had been a different person, there might have been nuclear weapons used in Vietnam.

  • I think it was a commonly held idea (the domino theory) that caused the deaths in Vietnam not a particular person. Take McNamara out and the war still continues, change presidents and political parties and the war still continued.

  • McNamaras personal directives and decisions resulted in 58,000 us and 3 million vietnamese dead. But Chairman Mao had his agressive communist expansion so us was right to oppose him but they fougfhgt a conventional overkill war with extremely high casualties instead of the successful way British stopped communism in Malaya-a tactical guerilla war with few civilian casualities.

  • "Chairman Mao had his agressive communist expansion" North Vietnam was not a Chinese satellite; that is what the right wing forces on the world, the old "communist conspiracy" idea. There was no communist conspiracy. What there was was peoples around the world deciding for themselves what kind of government they wished to have. It was the US who was expansionist in SE Asia. Ho Chi Minh kicked the French out of Vietnam & he was loved by his people for it.

  • @bapyou If that was true, than why did North Vietnamese invade the south? If that were true, then why did North Korea invade the south? Why to this day does Taiwan have to live in fear of the Chinese government taking over their sovereign land? I'm sorry, but your statement was just not factually correct, however eloquently it's spoken, a lie is still a lie.

  • @critter505 China was not exporting communism to Vietnam. Got it, you stupid moron? For 70 years right-wingers have been warning the world about the great "communist conspiracy". If this conspiracy was a reality, why haven't the borders between communist nations been erased?

    ___

After the U.S. left Vietnam, Vietnam went to war with China over the fate of Cambodia. Why would countries involved in a conspiracy to take over the world go to war with one another? Stupid right-wing mor-fucking-ons.

  • @bapyou Wow, you went from eloquent to asshole in a few sentences. "mor-fucking-rons", are you serious? Who talks lie that? Did the government forget to send your pills this month? You are an uneducated dipshit. Please don't comment any further on youtube, it will only serve to further dull the idiot liberal masses...

  • @critter505 Mor-fucking-rons. You got it right, assdip.

How's that international communist conspiracy going for ya?

    Kill you later. Cheers.

  • @bapyou "assdip" Is that when fags like you eat out another guys ass with guacamole? I'm sorry, I'm not too savy on the homo-lingual. "Kill me later"? OOOOOHHHH, SCARY! Lol, you are a douche, who the fuck threatens on the internet? Yeah, real tough guy. You forget, I'm a conservative, we all pack heat. I wish you would show up on my door step. Trust me, your funeral would be closed casket.

  • @critter505 " ... who the fuck threatens on the internet?" You do.

    You also wrote this:

"You forget, I'm a conservative, we all pack heat."

Yes. All of you mor-fucking-rons are full of hot air. Oooo scary yourself.

  • Savage showe the boundless capacity of conservatives to lie. Viet Nam was lost during a Republican administration, McNamara was replaced during the Johnson administration. No way McNamara lost the Viet Nam war,

  • r u really that dumb, Johnson was a Democrat who escalated the war

  • LOL! I get my facts wrong? Of course not, God you conservatives are such retards to listen to fake guy Weiner.

  • Robert McNamara is Mack the Knife.

  • McNamara was the Sec of Defense until '68.

  • "The leftist media", hahahahahahahaha.

Thanks mate, had a darn good laugh this morning.

  • McNamara, Lyndon Johnson, Kennedy: the blood of all those soldiers whose names are engraved on that wall in DC are on your head. Burn in hell, gentlemen

  • You need to read a book. McNamara and Kennedy never put combat troops in Vietnam and were beginning to pull the advisors out of Vietnam. If you want to place blame you should get your facts straight. The war in Vietnam started the day Kennedy was killed. McNamara had ZERO power to pull troops out. He was, in fact, calling for diplomacy and calling the war "unwinnable" behind the scenes to Johnson. This was Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon's war.

  • Oh yeah, Kennedy only put "advisers" in Vietnam.

  • @mvonwahlde Truman sent billions of dollars in military aid backing the French in Vietnam in their colonial war. Eisenhower backed the creation of the brand new South Vietnamese government. Kennedy then sent in advisors to train the new army with American equipment. But he refused to send US combat troops and less than 200 American had died in the 3 yrs he was in office. Kaiser's book "American Tragedy" is a good book on it, of the documentary Virtual JFK- Vietnman if kennedy had lived.

  • John Kerry also contributed greatly to our loss in Vietnam. He was more interested in his future political career than he was with doing his duty.

  • come get some.

  • I thought that was Hanoi Jane?

  • More than 170 million people were killed by governments with ten million being killed in World War I and fifty million killed in WW II. Regarding fifty million killed in WW II, it is significant that nearly 70 % were innocent .. in 1 Century this Robert McNamara added to a shitload of those too

  • look at operation northwoods

  • McNamara lived to the age of 93 because it took Satan a long time to get his room (cell) ready!

  • McNamara was the architect for Operation Northwoods

  • I love this guy!!

  • politicians should stay out of war ....leave it to the troops.when they get invoved we lose.

  • Who starts wars fluffydolly?

  • US won the TET offensive.

ONLY cause the Vietcong came out of the jungles and TRIED to fight us toe to toe.

  • Watch "The Fog of War." Just trust me.

  • Fog of war it is...

  • Correct me if I'm wrong but, didn't the USA win every major battle in Vietnam?

  • Yes but when the public is convinced by the media that war is evil and containment isn't worth fighting for the elected officials start to worry about they're "re-electabilty".

  • For the most part and we could have leveled that country from top to bottom but we chose to pull out because it just wasn't worth the cost and dissent in the home-country was astronomical.

  • I like it.

  • Does Savage talk about these globalist CFR people regularly? If so I need to tune in!

  • He has actually been devoting more time to them in recent weeks.
