Garry mod is better i have played LBP and gmod and the gmod is better. In gmod you can do everything that you want. this video is showing only 1% of fun that you can have in gmod. Sorry that I have used good so much times. ;-)
honestly, its the mods in gmod that make it great. Even though, the game itself is good, the mods are outstanding, without them Gmod wouldn't be shit.
I personally think Garry's Mod is better because not only can you build like this vid shows but you can also do other stuff like Trouble In Terrorists Town (VERY fun), Roleplay (Choose a job, build a store, kill people, etc.) and other stuff like that
@xbon1 You can make more than that in Gmod. honestly, You can create objects and whole maps, and also gamemodes tweaked however you want. I myself play LBP2 and love it! but lets deal with it.. its semi-2D.

LBP create mode is complicated its easy for me now but it was a pain to learn it.

You used hl2's level-creator to compare. That's not fair but it is true. Source mapping is way more advanced than lbp, and it has far more possibilities.
I would say it is easier to make levels in LBP and the game is a game that anyone can play and have fun, while GMod is more advanced. In the end I HAVE spent more hours in GMod though I have not played it in a while and have been playing LBP recently
i have bot h and i can honestly say they are both awesome, as i've build rollercoasters, and forts, an had fought zombies at the top of a tower that i've built out of scafolding and sheetmetal, in garry's mod and then destroyed it by launching ragdolls at it with my catupult.
where as on lbp i've spent many hours making levels, like castle levels, with dragon fighting with bombs a jetpack and the paintinator!!
i find littlebigplanet to be better then gmod because gmod's more for creating contraptions and little big planets for making maps with contraptions and all the stuff :D

For me Gmod is for MP (many players can play), and Little Big Planet is for single player (4 player in 1 tv :D).

This is not a direct comparison, the level design topic shows Hammer, which is not strictly speaking any part of GMOD. Most GMODers don't (can't) use Hammer.
I honestly use both and while they both allow you to create your own content I feel that is where the similarity ends.

Okay lbp is sick but you never really showed the power of gmod. Combined with wire, gmod is probably the most powerful sandbox game out there. And no wiremod isn't lua. Its not too hard to learn either you just need to know a bit of basic logic (ex: if this then do this). And one last thing gmod isn't all that violent; its the minges who make it that way. I do agree with you on the map making though sdk could be a lot easier. Sorry bout the bit of a rant but i wanted to give some credit to gmod.
How can you compare these games??? Both are AMAZING, i have both, and this is how it is:

I play both. I agree Garrys mod wins but not by much. Little big planet is just its own type of building. It may not exceed some limits of Garrys mod, but its still a great builder that i think everyone should try.
Yea gmod has more options and less limits, with a constant source of new stuff. Little big planet was fun though... no fried chicken shooting vehicles in gmod xD .
neither won, why? both have the same goal but different perspective. LBP is for all ages ideas that you have dreamed of and just to have fun or make a game (the easy way) in a traditional arcade thing or not. Gmod is for mature and more violent type, cause havoc, make mission, FPS style but harder to create games. Mainly its like this LBP for casual dreams, Gmod for aggressive dreams
Not to mention, Gmod is only accessible to those with 1337 coding skillz, while with LBP, all you need to know is a bit of physics, how to work a game controller, and how NOT to use Horrible Gas. I mean, I am decent with Roblox Lua, but the kind of stuff Gmod requires? You may as well have WRITTEN the code for LBP!
But Paul is kinda right. LBP is for casual dreams, Gmod for PG-13+ dreams. Both achieve a similar goal of creating fun content available to players, but have different audiences.

Gmod is good for making a load of cool stuff like spaceships and stuff like that, but LBP is better for creating an actual game. Obviously Gmod has more potential, but that potential is greatly marred by its inaccessibility in comparison to LBP, as well as Gmod having far higher technical requirements than LBP.
Also, PBUServer, while LBP certainly has less options and potential than Gmod, calling it 'limited' would be a grave error indeed.
i vote for gmod cuz if you really want to make a vid with all possebilities from Garry's mod you will need 2 hours and LBP is side scroll with way less stuff to do.

I play both. I agree Garrys mod wins but not by much. Little big planet is just its own type of building. It may not exceed some limits of Garrys mod, but its still a great builder that i think everyone should try.

Yea gmod has more options and less limits, with a constant source of new stuff. Little big planet was fun though... no fried chicken shooting vehicles in gmod xD .

neither won, why? both have the same goal but different perspective. LBP is for all ages ideas that you have dreamed of and just to have fun or make a game (the easy way) in a traditional arcade thing or not. Gmod is for mature and more violent type, cause havoc, make mission, FPS style but harder to create games. Mainly its like this LBP for casual dreams, Gmod for aggressive dreams

Not to mention, Gmod is only accessible to those with 1337 coding skillz, while with LBP, all you need to know is a bit of physics, how to work a game controller, and how NOT to use Horrible Gas. I mean, I am decent with Roblox Lua, but the kind of stuff Gmod requires? You may as well have WRITTEN the code for LBP!
But Paul is kinda right. LBP is for casual dreams, Gmod for PG-13+ dreams. Both achieve a similar goal of creating fun content available to players, but have different audiences.

How could you compare the two? LBP is a side scroller based on obstacles and creativity, gmod is a first person PC mod.

I have both games but I have to say they are both really good but I think GMod is just that little bit better, so I vote for Gmod, thats just my opinion so dont get mad at me.

Yea, but LBP is linear. Gmod is a entire physics engine. There are plenty of gamemods from rpgs, to rts, fps, and racing.

gmod is good for make ramdom stuff, but for online you join to a server with like 100 things and you need wait 1 hour for download, Lbp its good, can play online and fast join for a server, i have the boths games but Lbp is best, i played a level of dead space in Lbp and its cool... and Lbp its for Ps3 Lbp have me vote

I think of it like this:
Gmod is good for making a load of cool stuff like spaceships and stuff like that, but LBP is better for creating an actual game. Obviously Gmod has more potential, but that potential is greatly marred by its inaccessibility in comparison to LBP, as well as Gmod having far higher technical requirements than LBP.
Also, PBUServer, while LBP certainly has less options and potential than Gmod, calling it 'limited' would be a grave error indeed.
