Written by Donald Gardner in 1944, the song was originally recorded by Spike Jones & His City Slickers on December 6, 1948, with lead vocal by George Rock.
I work in a department store and this song keeps playing every day and it's really annoying. It sounds like the pedophile from Family Guy and that's who I see in my head when hearing this song.
This is NOT the original!!! Not at all!!!! I have this on 3 vinyls and disc....they sure don't sound like this! One of the vinyls was bought in the 50's. This is not original at all!!!!
Written by Donald Gardner in 1944, the song was originally recorded by Spike Jones & His City Slickers on December 6, 1948, with lead vocal by George Rock.
@beatlesarebest actually this was written in 1944 and first recorded by spike jones in 1948 so it IS the original. it hit the top of the charts by '49. By the late 50's it had been re-recorded by at least 3 different groups.
@Bri0701 I should have been clearer. I understand this is the original song, but the version I have has a different beginning to it. The version I have is Spike Jones as well, but the beginning is different.
@hywel777 The only reason I hunted this down is because they play it every day where I work, and I was morbidly curious to find out more about it . . . I cannot get certain images out of my head when I hear it at work, like a mouse in checkered trousers and a hat dancing around a christmas tree, and I wanted to see if there was an original video in case it was less annoying than what I had going round in my head.
I should stop talking now.... I've already said too much.
Spike Jones;Born Lindley Armstrong "Spike" Jones12/14/1911. Popular musician and bandleader specializing in performing satirical arrangements of popular songs. Band recorded under the title SPIKE JONES and HIS CITY SLICKERS. The lead vocal was by George Rock. Song "Two Front Teeth" was recorded on December 6, 1948. It was written by Donald Yetter Gardner in 1944. Jones died from complications of emphysema(smoking too much) on May 1, 1965 at age 53. For more, see WIKI.
We had this on the reel-to-reel ever since I was a kid, and I never knew who wrote it! We also had a lot of Bing Crosby, some choral music that probably dated to the 50's, and "Ding-A-Ling the Christmas Bell". Don't ask.
This song really bothered me as a child. And I'm not kidding. I would run out of the room with my hands over my ears crying hysterically when my mom played it. LOL ...
I remember this song when I was a kid.George Rock did the two front teeth.Eddie Fisher had a few songs and at one time was married to Elizabeth Taylor.
It's hilarious!

@KeithPsychosis
You probably need to an ice pick through your boss's left temple.
And you need to stop watching Family Guy. It's just for people with single digit IQs.
I think it's one of Charles Manson's favorite shows.
Have a great Christmas, Keith.
