The original is called Kaliponi Slack Key, from Keola and Kapono Beamer's "Honolulu City Lights" album. You sound awesome, did you play it phonetically or did you have sheet music?

i wish i had sheet music! but in complete honesty--- i'm not that good a reader anyway. so it's all ear for me. i'll try to find the album, dad's got to have it somewhere... maybe an actual VINYL record eh?!

Be amazing if you can find the album. My mom has it someplace, Keola Beamer's mom was involved in Kamehameha School's music program when she went there back in the 70's. You can get the song on iTunes, just search for Kaliponi Slack Key.
