Some people talk shit about speed playing, but it's like DrHotLicks says. Speed guys, like the one in this video, can always slow down and play blues like a pro, but I bet you won't find many blues guys that can play as fast as he can. You can argue that playing fast like that lacks heart and soul, but I believe it opens new doors and over all makes you a better player no matter what your preferences are.
Personally I like metal, blues, and good ole rock-n-roll.
@ihasacat I've thought about it, but so far I've only been able to work flight of the b.b. up to around 450 cleanly... I got all the guinness info from them, pdf packets, and all, explaining everything I'd have to do, were i to want to break it.. but it seems still a bit far off lol.. it will still take some time to work up past dr hot licks speed, if i even can...thanks for the props though man. i appreciate it. \m/
@Fluffypopcicle Hey, I know it can sound pretty muddled at those high tempos, but what I would recommend is putting this vid in a video editor, and slowing it down so you can tell... I wouldn't post it, if i couldn't do it man! Rock on \m/
I actually did! I ripped the audio and used a mp3 tempo changing program. It sounded like you were hitting it, but at the same time over time the notes started to not match up with the metronome despite the speed being consistent which means that you are probably playing something like 39.7 nps as opposed to 40 or even faster like 40.3 nps. That's insane either way though! Are you aiming to break John Taylor's world record? Gotta work on that endurance first.

@dkprandom Hey man, pretty simple stuff, just a couple of Ibanez guitars, and a V-Amp.
ShredIsNotDead1986 6 months ago
Nice! It doesn't sound like you're playing it in 16th notes though. Still amazing nonetheless.
