Hehe, my rocket actually had the chute rip out once with the nose cone. The nose cone parachuted to safety, and my rocket body literally glided down like an airplane into a perfect soft landing. Still, if you are living in a populated area and aren't flying in the middle of nowhere like I am, at least put on a streamer. Even though the nose would pop off, it could still hurt someone. If the nose doesn't pop off the rockets end up coming down faster than they go up!
I just got this rocket, it looks bad on the paceket and when u get it it looks like a copuple of bog roll tubes and few bits of drift wood. Cant wait to let it rip tho looks amazin, that guys chuckle says it all (:^D)
I just got this rocket like yesterday. Im using a D-12-5 for first stage. U siad it goes really high but im scared i might lose it. U said to use a smaller parachute or a streamline in ur other comment. wat is a streamline? Well if u have any tips on how to not lose it, it would be very helpful.
A streamer? A streamer is usually used for light rockets, and it is really just like a thick ribbon. It will slow it down but not much, so you will probably break a fin if you use one. Still better than losing the rocket. However, I think that for the first flight you should just load her up with the maximum power and pray that you get it back. If not at least you saw one good flight! You could also write your phone number on it in case someone finds it I guess. I flew in a big empty space...
On a D12? It goes very high, don't worry about it. Funny story; on my second one stage flight my shock cord fell off and the nose cone came down by parachute. My body tube just glided down so gently it just barely broke the epoxy holding the fin. Enjoy, but if you're flying on the school field you may want to use a streamer or smaller parachute- you may not get it back.
And the nosecone of the rocket didn't even come off after launching it. XD I think It was because the spray paint dribbled down into the sides, and made it sticky. I'll sand the paint off on Monday. XD
It went over some pine trees into a corn field. Luckily I had it painted a metallic silver, and I saw it shining all the way down. XD
My first launch was the opposite. There was a strong wind so my rocket weathercocked into the wind at the perfect angle so that my nose cone came OFF and the parachute tore to bits. The first stage was never recovered, but I still have the rest of the rocket, though I got a new CC Express later. Well, glad you had a nice time anyways.
nice stable flight...I have flown the sustainer on this rocket several times but haven't used it with a booster yet. This video made me want to add it on ASAP
haha sounds nice....what's the highest altitude you've flown to yet? I've personally only flown to about 3200 on a tiny 24 mm V2 rocket with an E9-6 and it was insane but my F and G engine rockets (videos on my page) only go to 1200 feet.
Almost nothing. This is my highest altitude flight. The bag said it should reach about 1800' but with the weathercocking (pause within the first second to see it) I'd say it got to about 1600.' I'm more into low and slow type rockets like Big Bertha. I will eventually put together my Comanche 3, but I messed up the second stage and fins. My local club has replacements luckily.
good stuff....don't make the mistake of starting to fly on Aerotech engines cause that stuff is expensive lol I've blown my past couple paychecks just for a couple flights with the hardware, reloads, single use econojets and all but I love to watch good lower powered flights like this...keep up the good work
Try buying the executioner and adding 2 BT-80 body tubes. It goes only 300 ft but has a slow liftoff. It goes 900 on an Aerotech E15-4W, pretty good for almost 6 ft. Check out my video of it
does anyone know of a video where the patriot is launched on four motors at once? it was in the pro series?

hey how do u make a estes rocket with 2 stages? and what is the principles of it?
chrisbear08 2 years ago
Principles? The first engine is a special engine that burns out and fires a charge that ignites the second engine.

Great! I love this rocket, have fun. I'm sure your class will really enjoy watching this rocket launch.

but do you think it will still go high if I only fly it with stage one?

K, we flew them off yesterday, [the 16th.]

It took only ten minutes to find it. c:

Remember to always check that after painting. ;)

Thanks. I want to get this type of rocket again and modify it to go from a D12-0 to a E9-7. According to RocSim it stays stable but goes over 2100'!

Once you buy the RMS, the reloads are pretty cheap. It ends up paying for itself.
