its not really space though is it, just high altitude earth. we'll never leave earth and propperly go into space unless we get a lot more advanced because of the radiation belt.
Balloons are an interesting idea, but you still got to get up to speed to achieve orbit (17,000 MPH) and balloons are very hard to manage, you have to take off at a certain time and place, the "window" so to speak that is hard to do with a giant balloon (it would have to be 10's of millions of cubic feet to lift a ship) besides the highest a balloon would go is 26 miles, that wouldn't knock very much off of what was needed.
baloons are the answer. vacuum solid hull baloons will float us up to near the edge of the atmosphere, then we can launch with much less fuel into orbit.

I can only say, that when I dont have the motivation to do something, when there's nothing to gain for me, then I dont bother doing it. I'm not talking about helping people, opening doors, whatever.. but working 16 hours a day. I wouldnt be doing that for free, let me tell you.
But i guess the world would look entirely different if we lived like they do in Star Trek... no supermarkets to slave away in, no menial jobs, one would assume. So I dunno..

Well, if we had a economy like that, we would be having robots doing all the hard and unwanted jobs, but all people would need to do is maintain the robots, and do some jobs that robots can't do.
So all you would be doing is working around 2 hours a day.

Balloons are an interesting idea, but you still got to get up to speed to achieve orbit (17,000 MPH) and balloons are very hard to manage, you have to take off at a certain time and place, the "window" so to speak that is hard to do with a giant balloon (it would have to be 10's of millions of cubic feet to lift a ship) besides the highest a balloon would go is 26 miles, that wouldn't knock very much off of what was needed.

baloons are the answer. vacuum solid hull baloons will float us up to near the edge of the atmosphere, then we can launch with much less fuel into orbit.
