@Weallfart no it would probably be the otherway round as black mambas can get 12 feet, kingsnakes only about six feet and are only immune to viper venom
I have a video of a guy who is kinda like steve the gator guy from the landdown under. well he was walking and he came across this huge King Cobra the head was the size of my fist and he was about 7 feet long easy, the guy said one bite u wouldnt make it to a hospital . the bite would kill a elephant. Its on youtube.
Austin Stevens is his name . The claim is not true. King cobra venom is one of the weaker venoms in the cobra family. The yield is what makes it dangerous. Most snake bites are not fatal but can be. I was bitten by a 15ft king cobra and survived.
TV is staged and the info given is often not backed up with facts.
Austin Stevens is a bit of a dramatic, if you haven't noticed. If you really think he naturally stumbled on that snake, which was more like 13-14ft long, you don't know much about nature television making.
for a toddler aged 2-3 years old ? does this age range have a good rate of suvival
if they get medical treatment fast i dont want my kids to get bite but where i live is eat up with copperheads i live in jackson not far from you guys im very scared to even let my little girl go out and play witch im always out with her constantly looking at the ground watching for snakes what would be a good first aid if my child did get bit
If a child gets bit the only thing to do is to go quickly to the hospital. Most bites in the US are survivable with proper medical care- and copperhead bites are very rarely fatal--- only 3 deaths or so in the last ~100 years. Jackson does have a lot of copperheads but you are doing the right thing by keeping an eye on your daughter. Teach her to not go close to snakes or touch them--also if you keep your yard as clean as possible you lessen the risk of a snake being able to hide nearby.
Mamba venom can act as quickly as 15-20 minutes or there can be a delay of the onset of symptoms for up to 12 hours. Death is not inevitable- if you get good medical care it is unlikely to die from any snakebite- even a mamba.
WOW very very nice video! ( and very nice channel too...I am from NC so I would love to come visit sometime soon) Thanks again for the videos and thanks for all you and your wife do to up us understand these very special animals. Be Safe! ...... Roger

@kyreptilezoo That's so irritating. I have seen Austin Stevens' show and he certainly doesn't seem to respect the animals.
