try evaporated milk with light condensed milk instead of cool whip and sour cream to make a low calorie fruit cream equivalent... it indeed is just as delicious.

Yes I think this is like Ambrosia although I think Ambrosia has coconut in it as well. I want to try making this when the weather get a bit warmer. It sure looks good.

Oh and Cool Whip is non-dairy and I'm thinking I would prefer to make it with real whipped cream versus the Cool Whip since it has some ingredients in it that I don't particularly find healthy.

all u got 2 do is mix the whip cream with da sour cream n add condesed milk ( its 4 2 make it sweet n thicker) n den add da canned fruit . i wood perferbaly use canned fruit cuz it has a sweet juice in it but u don need all of the juice just take about 25% of the jusice n freeze it 4 maybe 2 hours n dun! looks just like hers but mines is thicker n creamier.

cool whip is a "convenient" whipped cream. Just whip your own cream instead.

Cool Whip is a brand name for whipped topping, which is a lot like whipped cream and I'm not 100% sure but I think the main difference is instead of the aerosol can, it's in a plastic tub. I could be wrong. And if they don't have specifically Cool Whip in the UK, another substitute whipped topping would suffice. :)

I think it's a North American thing. You can substitute it for the real thing by whipping together a cup of heavy cream, a tsp. of vanilla extract, and 2-3 tsp. of confectioners sugar. It's ready to use once stiff peaks form :)

sour cream is common in the US and Russia. Its taste is similar to buttermilk but whipped like whip cream. If you're in South America you can use crema instead.

The first ingredient she mentions is called Cool Whip, the brand name for a commercially-prepared whipped topping. There are other similar products available on the market, or possibly you could use whipping cream instead. They are usually found in the dairy isle of your grocery or supermarket.

The second cream is 'sour cream', also easily found in the dairy isle of any grocery or supermarket. It's literally a soured cream made from cow's milk.

wow, i didn't realize cool whip wasn't everywhere. Any tubbed whip cream will do, the aerosol one will just turn to liquid -_- i hate the spray whip cream.

You could also make your own if you can't find the tubbed version. it's SOOOO easy. just put heavy cream and some sugar to taste in a bowl and beat it with a hand/stand mixer on low, then increase the speed. whip non-stop and eventually it will be whip cream. ^_^

the cool whip is also made without any dairy products making it vegan and more healthy but you can make you own chream at home by taking 2 cup of 35% whiping cream to one cup of sugar and 1 teaspon of vanilla extrat beat it all togather with a mixer untill the cream is not runny nut dont overbeat it it taste awsom just by dipping starwberrys in it for a more romantic effect

You can make Cool Whip out of whipping up powdered milk and a little vanilla and water, but it's not stable like Cool Whip is. Or there are packets of powdered stuff called Dream Whip that is available in some places too.
